You guys do actual work.

I think it's great to see so many people's talents in one area or another. Even coloring maps.
I do wish I were better at visual art. I have my moments, but in general, I am better at tossing these squiggly symbols on a page and telling stories.
And RogueBait, if I can put dogs in anything, I will somehow find a way to do so.
Maps are great though.
Aren't they? ![]()

You know the little canvasy map of Ferelden that came with Origins in the silver disc case?
I want to take that, make a canvas messenger bag and use that map as an outside pocket on the bag. That way if I ever go through a wormhole and find myself in Ferelden, at least I have a chance at not being lost.

I didn't get that.

It's super late here and I have been doing work, so I totally just misread that as "I hail from a family of kittens". ![]()
So, I think I found an acceptable yarn for Solas' sweater. It's a tad bit darker than his sweater looks in game I think....but chances are it will lighten with washing and all that jazz.
Since you are all Solas experts and it gives you all a perfectly good excuse to study his sweater in detail, let me know what you think.
Spoiler
I had to study that picture hard. For color science.
Hmmm......
Yes, it could work. I tend to think that his shirt is a bit weathered and dingy anyways from all the normal wear and tear. I'm more of a crochet gal and the last time I tried my hand at knitting was when I was 10 (20 some odd years ago lol).
So I had to look up knitting stitches the other night when you said you were going to make a sweater. I think it looks like his shirt is a 1x1 rib though there is a lot of space in between. You would know better than I about such things.

=( I'm sorry. But if you do have a lot of knitters in the family....you should totally ask them to knit a map using fair isle color work techniques. That would be a boss map blanket. But you might want to tell them like.....a year in advance.

Well, in the worsted weight I tried out the pattern goes something like
knit 1, purl 1, knit1, purl 6, repeat
But I plan to make the sweater in fingering weight so it's going to be something more like
knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 9-11, repeat
All depending on gauge.
I'm also considering designing a Solas sweater inspired yoga type sock with the same rib pattern. They would be so cute and elfy!!! And yoga socks, because I bet that's the kind of socks Solas wears.
*looks at Solas' pants* No, I don't think those can be knit.
And crochet is awesome sauce.
That reminds me.... I was walking down the street and saw someone with a wide ribbed long sleeve the same colour as Solas'... And I actually had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't passing by a Solas cosplay. It even had a trimmed collar. I was like... Art break.
Lots and lots of art!
Beautiful artwork of Solas and Lavellan by oddmoy, commissioned by EnaShepard/sihaofskyhold.

Here Solas and Coria are in a post-game happy ending, perfect ending. Look at them, they're so happy!
(their baby girl Tala is gonna be so adorable)
And isn't Coria gorgeous
?!! The artist, OddMoy, was an absolute angel during the commission process, I heartily recommend her. She asked me tons of questions about what I wanted, and about Coria herself. Look at her- so small! and her freckles! and the scars on her face! and her large shoulders! and her muscular arms! and her yellow dress (her fav color)! and the jewels she forges herself! ![]()

Hey guys ![]()
So update from LFCC. I saw GDL, thanked him for Solas etc etc and said 'hope it turns out alright for Solas in the end.' In response, he made a face. Haha ![]()
To be honest, it was 'sorry, I can't tell you face' and not 'yup, Solas is doomed, abandon all hope' face, but still... But in general he is a super nice guy and I was really REALLY nervous when I came up to talk to him, which probably showed...

DA Confessions
Sometimes these hurt my brain a bit. Solas doesn't look like every other bald man with similarly colored eyes. Or Nicolas Cage. Maybe it's just me.
Pfft, as if Solas is Lex Luthor.
It's not like he's a highly intelligent, charismatic, bald guy, who likes to think of himself as well-intentioned extremist, initially befriended the hero, had his greatest invention accidentally destroyed by said hero, and uses glowing green rocks as one of the things in his arsenal...
I see no similarities whatsoever.

So, I saw this interesting post on Tumblr, theorizing that the Inquisitor has basically already been to the Black City, though only if you've imported a save with the Old God Baby. It's an interesting read.

@.@
I have to go load up a save from near that point now....because that......I have to see all this myself. That's so awesome.
Edit: So, I went.....and I took a crap ton of screenshots.....and my brain really, really hurts now....like it's spinning so hard in tin foil hat territory that I can barely collect a coherent thought.
I will say this though.....yes, I agree with this poster. I think it's the Black City. At least part of it.
And the throne is creepy. For reals.
Just discovered an artist new to me over on Tumblr. She does a lot of f!Hawke but also some other Inquisition and DA2 stuff. So far she has just the one Solas.
And just for fun, I posted a drawing that I did in about 5min a few weeks ago. The whole dog posts thing made me post it. I can do better if I take the time but I can never get depth and shading right regardless. I'll stick to writing. ![]()

Not really sure I buy it - the area of the Fade reflects the area of the world it's nearby and there's no indication that Inquisitor and Morrigan found themselves in any remote location, but likely the part of the Fade 'surrounding' Skyhold.
And considering the significance of Skyhold itself, I wouldn't be surprised if it symbolized stuff about it and Inquisition more than anything else.
Let's make a small analysis:
*we can see the clear sky - because Skyhold is located high in the mountains. It may also be elevated quite high in Fade itself due to its important status in ancient times. Sunset is another strong indicator, considering there's always sunset when we're in Skyhold, lol.
*author even mentions structures that resemble structures in Skyhold, like Mage's tower, as well as - and I quote directly - "palace floating in the near distance, no further than the highest tower of Skyhold from the stables". So the area strongly reflects the layout of Inquisitor's fortress it seems, to a point the author (who thinks we may be in Black City) mentions similarity in distances and its characteristic structures.
*close proximity to the Breach - Skyhold lies very close to Temple Of Sacred Ashes and Breach itself. It's especially visible after Corypheus re-opens it.
*red lyrium/Tevinter stuff/Claws of Dumat - Corypheus' influence; be it on nearby area (Temple Of Sacred Ashes was full of RL), or creation of the Anchor, or him being the enabler of Inquisition's rise to success. Also - he is a priest of Dumat, who created the Claws (according to note we find in Fade near Adamant), and they carry important significance to him, as well as the world, considering that it's an artifact that likely allowed Corypheus enter the Fade for the first time. Therefore it's fitting that we'd see it here as well.
*empty throne with shackles on the side - well duh, Inquisitor's throne!
Shackles very likely represents him/her being bound by duty and faith to his/her position as the leader.

If Thedas exists on a planet where the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, then, technically, it's always sunrise when we're in Skyhold.
