I feel the slightest of pull towards reinstalling The Sims 3 whenever this sort of thing comes up, but I know I shouldn't. Too easy to just get lost forever. ;)

I've always had more fun in TS2.  I like a lot of things TS3 added, but miss too much of the TS2 stuff.

But...but...if you did I could package up my Solas for you. He would really like to meet your Sim Lavellan...he even had a dream about it in...

I made a Fenris sim for TS3...I had posted pictures in here when I made him but I haven't played the game since. I was planning on making a Hawke to go with him, but I never got around to it.

I used to play all the time, but these days I spend more time building and decorating houses than playing the actual game. :-P

Spoiler

Solas: No! No! You can't make me go back!

Quiz: Honey you're having a bad dream.

Solas: I will never go back to that world without hot and cold running water!

Quiz: What is hot and cold running water?

Solas: NOOOOOOOOO! :o

Nice, like the hair. Is that DLC or mod? The problem I have is that I tend to think "oh, I really need a mod for "x" to be perfect." and then I end up firing up all my modding kits. Next thing i know, it's 3am and I'm photoshopping a friggin table texture or squinting at some 500 lines of code. Same happened with Skyrim, or pretty much any game that's moddable. It's less about playing and more about "Could I make this...?". *sigh* I'm already thinking about making a freckled face and body retexture for this Sim.

Thedas might lack hot and cold running water, but at least no one can trap you in a burning room with no doors... or make the pool ladder disappear while you swim... or force you to tinker with the TV until you electrocute yourself.

I had to download a whole bunch of stuff. Here's the website I got him from.  There is a Solas for TS4 too.

.... I see I'm not the only one who liked to torture Sims from time to time

Not that long after I actually began playing Sims I realized how bad God (well, Maker) I'd be, if someone offered me the job xDDD

But hey - Sims players have to watch themselves. Solas is Fen'Harel after all - the God Of Rebellion. And we may never know - maybe he rebelled against Creators, because they kept vanishing the ladder from his swimming pool....

I don't even do mean things to my Sims, so whenever something bad happens it's just coincidental.

The last time I played in any seriousness, I made twins and one went to work while the other swam laps most of the day. Swimmer sister needed to eat before work so I had her make a light meal....during which she set the kitchen on fire and burned herself to death. Other sister got home in time to be unable to save her twin.

Then she basically stayed in bed and cried all over the place.

I told this story over tea to friends once and they didn't quite understand why I was laughing so hard.

Depends on the Sim. I could never torture Solas! Well, maybe I could... depending on how happy I am with the DLC ending.

Hmmm the temptation to kiss him and then dump him is very strong now I'm the Maker.

"What's that Solas? Upset cause you were dumped for no reason? Bam! Now you know how it feels."

Solas: Vhenan, you have no idea how bad it was! June would put all those terrible pink flamingos into everyone's gardens. Andruil would make them forget to go to the bathroom until they pees themselves in public. Falon'Din even got that mod where he could make someone barbecue a baby!

This is beyond awesome :D

Yes! As of now, I'm committed to doing this as soon as I get back home. Would love to see other Sim versions people share.

Haven't played in a while either, work was very busy for a while, then I became obsessed with a certain video game... I used to make Sim versions of favorite anime characters all the time.

Oh dear, one of the first things I did after the breakup was make a Sims 2 Solavellan house, so they're happy somewhere at least. Here's some pics of them I took a while ago, though they aren't very well staged or cleaned up (warning lots of large pics):

Hmmm that reminds me too much Cormac McCarthy's The Road. There's a bit in the book that just...*shudders* I remember I first read it on a very long commute to the other side of the country and I think all the other passengers thought I was a total weirdo. I sobbed, gasped and growled through the whole thing. But yeah, the modding community for the Sims has always been a bit weird with some stuff.

I thought it was just a Sword in the Stone reference.

I wouldn't think so. They've already had the Monty Python shout-out to the old Sword in the Stone bit in an Origins random encounter, and besides the statue being of stone and there being a sword in it, there aren't much parallels.

And it seems to be hinting towards rather something big. I mean, it's in the Fade (possibly near Skyhold), it's probably Dirthamen, it's near Mythal, it's gushing blood...

Then again, I was convinced that the statues in the Western Approach and the relevant codex entry were about the Titans, until someone pointed out all the Transformers puns and references in it.  <_<

I appreciate the shout-outs, but I can't stand when they're mixed up with theory-crafting. It leads to lovely theories collapsing like a deck of cards. No reason that they can't be both a shout-out and part of the actual lore, but...

And the theory about that area of the Fade being a reflection of Skyhold makes sense, because when you scrape away the human fortifications, you get ancient elven bastion. And sure enough, the place looks like it's crawling with statues of the Creators.  ^_^

Thank you! I have plans to make a massive Skyhold lot, eventually. Right now they're shacked up in a tiny cottage on the edge of my "Fantasyland" neighborhood which basically houses all of my OC's. They're the only elves there so far.

If you make Skyhold, please share! I'm not a good builder, especially when it comes to the big lots.

I'll do that. Building lots and decorating is actually my favorite part of simming, and there are just so many mods out there. My prodigious default replacement folder of clothes and hair compared to the one I have for DA:I makes me so sad that DA:I is so difficult to mod (I just want more of everything and pretty hair, okay?).

I only really became aware of the huge sims modding community earlier this year.

My download folder for TS2 now has, well, a lot of stuff in it.

Skyrim originally had the ability to kill children, it was just removed at the last moment.  In the game files there's Lars' reaction to the player killing Braith (he's pleased).

SO CUTE!  And where are the clothes from?  I have a lot of fantasy!'dark ages' clothes but I could always do with more.

I love creating towns and sims but I find building lots to be very difficult.  I'm better at expanding existing lots, and decorating.  Teach me the ways of the Master Builder!

Oh my god, so many mods.

Lavellan's default replacement maternity clothes are from somewhere on Plumbob Keep by sunni9676: http://www.medievals...rums/index.php (look under Alchemist's Laboratory/Apparel & Accessories). There's so much good stuff there.

Her regular jacket is by Adele: http://tinyurl.com/pbwbs7f

Solas's coat is from Yuxi/esperesa: https://esperesa.dre....org/74530.html

Ahaha, master builder, I'm hardly that. A lot of the stuff I build is very, erm, square. :P

As far as buildings go, a lot of the time when I do it, it's by the seat of my pants, and I have to look up tutorials for anything complicated. The best thing is to have a plan and work from the ground up. If you're building something that already exists, have screenshots from every angle, particularly from above. If you need a dungeon, you're not going to be able to put it in later, or at least, not as easily, so build that first. If you want towers you're going to also have to use the setHighestAllowedLevel [number] cheat when you start out, give yourself something like ten floors for towers and high walls. I have a crashing problem, so I also save my progress like every ten minutes or so, especially on larger lots.
