When I take Oghren and Alistair into the Deep Roads with an active romance the first banter I ever get with Oghren is 'So... with the boss?'

I love my inappropriate drunk dwarf.

Due to my party line-up, he hit on Morrigan, then Leliana, then Wynne.   Then we got back to camp, he got was still drunk and got very enthusiastic about my male Warden's rear.

'Come here, you mad dwarven stallion'.

For some reason I just find the fact that the first thing Oghren does in my game is to ask Alistair about his sex life to be hilarious.

So in preparation and hype over Total War: Warhammer, I was trying to play the Warhammer mod for Crusader Kings 2. Naturally Steam Workshop broke it in half after the latest expansion. As recommended, I went to the forum's version. And Mediafire sent me into a death-loop of 'Preparing to download' without ever actually downloading. I deleted all the cookies in Chrome, then in Internet Explorer, but it still didn't work at all. Then a kind gent uploaded a mirror to 2Share. That one isn't working either, since every button I link will happily let me download any number of trash apps and music-sharing websites, but won't let me have the goddamn mod that would take three minutes to download.  I can't tell if it's a problem with my computer or with the fact these sites aren't NexusMods or what have you.

...It's times like this I realize if I was a spirit, I'd end up as a Rage demon the moment some Dreamer screwed with the wi-fi or something.   <_<

Hello. I've been lurking this thread for a few days now and you guys seem pretty awesome so I figured I'd come join in. (Also, cute Solas art popping up every few pages is totally worth sticking around for!)

I'm Kay. I was planning to romance Cullen, since I'd been thoroughly spoilered due to starting this game far too late and I wanted a non-tragic ending for my Inquisitor... That plan fell in a giant hole the moment a certain bald elf first opened his mouth. May I join in with this train-wreck? ;)

(For the record, I'm about 25 hours in on my second attempt at a playthrough... I got as far as finishing Here Lies The Abyss on the first, then immediately stormed into DA Keep and made a new world-state where Alistair WASN'T a Warden. Because, just, no.I hate sad endings.)

Guys, I think I figured out how we can make a Solas Wolf Hunt DLC happen.

I heard about this thing called the Boyfriend Sweater Myth. The myth goes that if you knit a sweater for your boyfriend he will leave you.....but since Solas already left Lavellan....

Well, I'm just wondering now if the myth works in reverse....and if I knit a Solas sweater we'll get that Wolf Hunt DLC. Maybe even a ahappy ending......

But since Bioware seems to enjoy our tears I think it may take like 10 people knitting the sweater.......

But...but...if you did I could package up my Solas for you. He would really like to meet your Sim Lavellan...he even had a dream about it in...

"Why is my dream idea being represented by something shaped like my head?"

Dirthamen? Here's what I can only imagine to be an incredibly grumpy Dirthamen.

Spoiler

Makes me kinda sad.....because after June, Dirthamen is my favorite. Even if they are potentially crazy.

Was that statue desecrated in the Fade, is it a memory of a real event, or a representation of Dirthamen being figuratively or metaphorically stabbed in the back at some point? We know that Mythal was murdered, could Dirthamen have been similarly slain?

(My inner Isabela wanted me to make a rather obvious "impaled from behind" joke, but that seemed like it might come across as a little insensitive what with the ambiguous relationship between Dirthamen and Falon'Din... especially since I'd prefer it if Bioware doubled down and revealed that canonically, they were indeed lovers, instead of weirdly dancing around it.)

That hood and his ability to keep secrets, makes me think that Dirthamen would be an excellent Assassin's Creed protagonist.

Well then... have the best cat image I've recently found on teh Interwebs.

Spoiler

(dat expression!)

This is my tabby kitten in a nutshell, she's at the age now where she's proudly bringing me dead mice and birds... or like her (sadly passed) brother, deciding to be extremely crafty and steal an entire bird's nest, in a vain attempt to lure birds directly to her.

What's this about the Boyfriend Sweater myth?  I'd love it if my SO went to the effort of knitting me a sweater. I'm all ready for winter with the scarves she's already given me. :D

But I still think knitted sweaters and stylish furs will draw Solas like the Templar to rock candy.

Just sayin'.

Now we know why Solas locked away June at least. Clearly he forgot to knit Solas something for Arathan Winter Festivalness. Everyone there looked great in cashmere cabled sweaters except for him.

Most embarrassing.

Welcome Kay! You're not the only one who gets pulled into the Solas vortex, I had to abandon another Lavellan playthrough to start as a human so I could make sure I'd romance Cullen this time... and even then, that first conversation cemented my belief that my Trevelyan has a crush on Solas.

:D

As for the Boyfriend Sweater theory... if making him things means he dumps us, does that mean if we vow as players to refuse to craft him anything and stick him with only gear that is looted or dropped, that'll mean that he'll ultimately stay with us?

Mmmm......I think the problem with that is the fact that Lavellan is not the one who crafted his gear. it's Dagna and Harritt.

Wait, do we have someone to blame for this now?!?!?! Not Dagna....D=

Maybe he got weirded out by being given all this expensive custom made gear while all he can offer is the truth... and the truth sucks.

Now we know who suffered the real heart ache of Solas leaving. I mean.....can you imagine the work and effort Dagna and Harritt put in to make him gear. cause you know Lavellan was having them make insanely incredible stuff. They were probably all proud and everything....

And then he just up and goes....leaving only a heartbroken Inquisitor and some truth that Dagna and Harritt couldn't care less about.

Now I'm getting worried. He pissed off Dagna and Harritt. Solas is in real danger.

I'm currently playing an Elf to romance Solas (cough again). He really is my favorite and the best romance in this game. He rivals my love for my pirate queen and that's something <3

I mean, I don't realy play elves as often usually (-chants- DWARVES ARE NUMBER ONE -clears throat-). But I absolutely adore Solas and his romance. I would really like more content within his romance in the dlc... However, if it's end is how its end remains then I am also very content with this. It was beautifully done and it speaks to me on a personal level. I love it <3

Those scenes are hilarious, especially since most of them will comment or ask at some point. My favorite might be the conversation with Leliana about Alistair's "performance" and the choice you have what to say.

Gosh, I kinda miss being able to talk with your companions anytime you want when on the field. Especially in regards to the romance.

That is one of the things I miss most. I do like the DAI banters but, in replaying DA2 a bit lately, the frequent location comments from your companions and just making , being able to talk to them even if they just repeat something. And in DAO it was the best.in that regard.

I'd have really liked it if the Keeps were mini-bases that we could have used as homes away from home, where we could have had certain conversations with companions, either unique ones for each place, or just have certain convos in a new location just for the sake of variety.

I feel like they cut a lot of the stuff they were planning from the Keeps out, not only the counter-attacks and customisable features, but the idea that these were places that were meant to be somewhere we could operate from in that region. I barely go to some of them after I've taken them over, which is a shame because some of them are really great to look at.

I do miss the conversations in the field, even if I understand why they removed it (sometimes you could end up getting into a convo mid-fight), but it'd have been nice to have had the chance to have some convos in "safe" areas, have some in specific locations or just have the location comments in DA2 as Cee said, which were often fun little insights into our companions personalities (Isabela's quest to find hat shops) or even hear what Hawke was thinking?

Also it'd have been nice to snog companions in the field, who doesn't want to make out with Solas right next to the shrine of Fen'Harel in the Exalted Plains? Or attempt to get some Fade-tongue while physically in the Fade during HTLA, perhaps leading to your companions exasperation that you're seriously thinking of getting some while in the middle of a place that no mortal should ever venture.

Solas: Ma vhenan, this isn't the place for such things!

Lavellan: Not what you seemed to think that night you visited me in the Fade...

Solas: Vhenan, please!

Varric: As much as I'd like to recount this for my next book, I don't need to know all  the details, thanks!

Hawke: I dunno, I could stand to hear a little more...
