So if you rub Solas's belly do you think his leg will waggle?

My birthday is next Tuesday. What do I want for my birthday? News about SP story DLC. I'm not asking that anything actually be released on my birthday. I would just like news.

Yeah, well, wanted the same, but 7th of July has passed a while ago and STILL NO NEWS ;( Only dwarf-centric hints...

So I was listening to things for the "NPCs in a song" thread, when I stumbled upon this piece I had forgotten. I thought it would be a great Solavellan song, especially for dancing to in the winter palace.

Think they're just gonna drop it like JOH. One day we're sat there and then BOOM! A 6gb patch comes out and there's a DLC sitting in Origins. It's the craziest way to release new content that I think I've ever seen.

Only if I rub it with my sacrificial knife and his leg waggles out of fear.
Is he also on a special alter that is cover in wolf pelts and candles? ![]()

I actually think this is going to happen - though, to be fair to them, there was very little in terms of warning that something's coming, either from devs side or on official sites.
Now?
Dwarves! Darkspawn! Legion Of The Dead! Map of Deep Roads! Some suggestive stuff in beta! Hints of heartbreak and awful stuff going on twitter! Devs teasing us with "Soon"!

I like being able to anticipate something coming out so I can also make time for it. Which is why I'd prefer an actual announcement with a date. Though I guess we can tell something is coming with all the recent dwarf & Deep Roads hints and seems like they've been trying to get more people in multiplayer. I know they promised regular MP updates, but they've also been talking about actors recording lines and such for SP.
Ninja DLC* is likely coming though, as you say.
*Not featuring actual ninjas.

I do like ninja releases. They've been doing them a little with DA, some with the Sims 4 and while Fallout 4 is still far off, Fallout Shelter helped. I hope it's a new trend.

Agree, this is just weird. I don't think I've ever seen this before with DLC on any game I've played. Usually there's, hey this is coming out soon! And then a bit later there's a release date given and then it's released. JoH had one day of warning and as far as I'm aware they didn't even bother with that on the Spoils of Avaar or the Spoils of the Qunari, those two just appeared.

That was just JoH. And Spoils of the Qunari due to an accident.

It has been all of them actually. JoH was the only intentional one. I've gotten every single one early.

It's especially annoying to me as I'm having to be very careful with my money at the moment. So when I do have money to treat myself, I'm not going to hold it back for some DLC that may, or may not, arrive and may, or may not, be multiplayer only. So instead, the money I would have squirreled away for the DLC was instead spent on buying my friends a few more rounds while out at the Highland games this weekend. They had hangovers and Bioware loses out. See how many people have suffered for this Bioware? I hope your happy. My hungover friends were not. One even threw up a little. It just wasn't good all round!

It's like Bioware is drunkenly like "ummm............................DLC whatever here you go *rolls back over and passes out*"
Nah, it appears to be part of their strategy. Due to revenue recognition and so on. Even recently the dev confirmed that, and I quote:
"BioWare very rarely announces packs more than a few days before launch. This is due to logistical realities of certification and ensuring everything is ready for a smooth launch. Patches often get announced on the day they are released, for the same reasons."

You don't have to worry about multiplayer DLC, that's usually free. I'm afraid I can't help on the hung over friends part though. Sorry!

*pouts* I don't care about DLC since I can't play it. *sulks in a corner*

Ok..not really. I do want it to happen, I'll just read everyone's options and theories like I did last time and wait.

"I used to care about marketing once... It was a long time ago, when the logo on my chest stood for something."
But seriously, that's still ridiculous. "Logistical realities of certification and ensuring everything is ready" is simply GOOD quality testing. That has absolutely nothing to do with marketing, transparency, and keeping your fans hyped.
