We have to free the slaves and save Thedas. Those of us on this thread have a strong incentive to do so, but can we turn from Desire into Purpose? I love your little details, the freckles on his nose stood out for me this time. I both can't wait for more, but also could as this is probably not going to end with rainbows and sunshine, or them riding off into the sunset.

It's Dragon Age, not Thedas' Next Top Model. (though I DO wish they hadn't given Leliana yellow eyeshadow. It's just wrong. Not sure if they meant it to be gold, but it looks bright yellow and NO-ONE wears yellow eyeshadow.)

Tee-hee! Out of curiosity, I did a Google search for "yellow eyeshadow" and, to my surprise, got tonnes of hits! Not a trend I'll be following any time soon, though

Ha, nope, not following it either. I think yellow tends to not work too well with most skintones due to it's resemblance to real world illness or damage in the skin. The yellow of jaundice or of a fading bruise. I think that's why red isn't a popular colour either, as red skin tends to come from burns/rashes. This, however, is just speculation and theory on my part. It could just as easily be due to the colour clash between fairer skintones and such primary shades. I mean, with high fashion, you can have go for any colour and make an impact.

 

In any case, while yellow may suit some people in real life, IMO it doesn't suit Leliana in game.I just want my quizzy to pull out a handkerchief and rub it off of her.

*(btw, a lot of people seem to think that the whole "Ameridan defeats the wolf" story in JoH is Fen'Harel-related, but I think it's nothing more than a blatant red herring. What's FAR MORE interesting than that story is the memory of Ameridan we find nearby, when he mentions his SPIRIT COMPANION giving him advice how to stop Hakkon).

 

I know!  It's one of the biggest lore bombs that gets dropped in JoH, but it doesn't seem to have made much of an impact.  

 

Another one that drives me insane is the reaction Telana had to Hakkon's presence.

 

Ameridan:  "You are a dreamer, and this dragon the Avaar have summoned carries a demon inside it.  I can see how its presence hurts you."

 

Solas:  "Ameridan was correct.  The presence of such a powerful spirit would have caused a dreamer like Telana immeasurable pain."

 

*stops short, stares intensely at Solas for five minutes, willing him to elaborate*

Ha, nope, not following it either. I think yellow tends to not work too well with most skintones due to it's resemblance to real world illness or damage in the skin. The yellow of jaundice or of a fading bruise. I think that's why red isn't a popular colour either, as red skin tends to come from burns/rashes. This, however, is just speculation and theory on my part. It could just as easily be due to the colour clash between fairer skintones and such primary shades. I mean, with high fashion, you can have go for any colour and make an impact.

 

In any case, while yellow may suit some people in real life, IMO it doesn't suit Leliana in game.I just want my quizzy to pull out a handkerchief and rub it off of her.

 

One of my friends loves wearing red eyeshadow. Both red and yellow were trend colors over the past several years, which is why it's so easy to find pics of people wearing both. For me, red stays on my lips and nails. I'm Latina and it's common for many of us to have yellow undertones (I do), so that just does not work. Picking yellow or green shades for me can be slightly tricky.

 

On Leliana though, I was just as....'Leliana did you pick your makeup with your eyes closed this morning?' as everyone else.

This is the one that I was really curious about. Especially with the juxtaposition of "demon" and then our resident Dreamer, Solas saying "powerful spirit" in the very next line.

I've been wondering that if Hawke survives and heads up to Weisshaupt, one explanation for their absense in any future game is that they're now working for the Wardens in some sort of unofficial capacity, sort of like how in Awakening, Seneschal Varel is entrusted with helping the Wardens manage Vigil's Keep, but wasn't a member of the order or undergone the Joining?

 

Hawke's experience with Red Lyrium, Corpyheus and having fought at Adamant, as well as possibly having a sibling in the Order, probably would grant them some level of clearance, since they know quite a few Warden secrets that even most members of the order don't.

 

Either that or they get conscripted and put through the Joining, which would suck, but be totally in-keeping with how the universe seems to love to screw with Hawke at every conceivable opportunity.
