YAY DLC!!! :wizard:  *celebrates with tea*

I did like the Deep Roads in DAO but it was a bit grueling after the first time through it. I think DAIs look really fun from what they showed though.

Also, I drew a thing! It was my first time using a tablet!  :D

Spoiler

First time with a tablet?! Wow! He looks great! <3

Ugg...I hate the deep roads. Elves do not belong underground!! I always get so lost. Every tunnel looks the same. I don't know who I would take down their with me. Maybe Blackwall, Varric and poor Solas since I take him with me everywhere I go. I won't be able to play until I get a new computer so I can ponder this for a long time. :-P

As for the Deep Roads, I actually quite enjoyed them in Origins for some reason, so I'm very excited that we're finally going to visit them again. (DA:I was seriously lacking in the Deep Roads department.) :P

Hi, lovely!  How are you?

I liked elements of the Deep Roads.  Hespith, Branka, and Caridin.  But those were specific characters.  The design of the Deep Roads in DA:O drove me batty, and more than once I thought about replaying Origins, realized I'd have to do hours of Deep Roads, and nipped that playthrough in the bud  Of course, I'm also one of those weirdos who actually liked the Fade puzzles

I wonder if this DLC will be like Jaws, where it can be played at any time but (IMO) makes a little more sense post-game. It'll take a lot to get me to do the Deep Roads more than once, so if it makes more sense post-game, I guess I'll be YouTubing Solas's dialogue ><

Thank you ^___^ I always love your art and that means a lot to me!!

It took longer than I should admit. I was just messing around and then started adding more details and stayed up until 4 AM messing with them. XD

Can anyone here explain why Solas goes barefoot ? The topic of footwear came up in Leliana's thread (obviously) and there seems to be very little reason for Elves to to barefoot.

If you're concerned about the lack of shoes, maybe you should talk to this guy (who showed up in the new DLC trailer):

Thank you Capricorn!!I knew I could depend on you to bring us news!! Also excited to see the other posts people have made regarding the responses to future DLC. They're not done yet! They are keenly aware!  :)

Also did anyone else notice the shots of Solas were only after "Reveal a secret?". Or at least, I didn't notice any beforehand.

I'm...kind of anal about doing everything when I replay.  Including the stuff I don't like.  Call it a compulsive character flaw  :D TBH I don't really want to play Origins any more at this point; that game has not aged particularly well.

I still can't decide between Cole and Varric. I want Cole's monologues, but I also want Varric's perspective. I could take them both if I drop Solas, but I can't bring myself to do that.

Since it's the Deep Roads I might go for Varric. But it is a tough call! Also, I wonder what Scout Harding's take on the place will be?

To be frank, I'm more interested with a shot of underground forest that happened right before we shortly see Solas...

Ha, I got the "Not every Dwarf like caves" line from Varric today and now I feel doubly bad about the fact that I'll likely take him with my Mage quizzy. I'm glad they've finally revealed he DLC. I was getting pretty tired ghosting around the Twitter Thread.

Replaying the prolouge. The only thing distracting me from Solas voice is my relentless CassandraxVarric shipping.

Barnabus: "You have keen eyes."

Cass: "And and enourmous mouth."

Varric "And clever hands."

Me: Nudge nudge Cass! Nudge nudge!

EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've seen this armor as a obtainable equipment. Shame if so, because it's rather cool looking. Has a long pointed hood and everything.

Me too. The first thing I thought about was the piece of art we see before What Pride Had Wrought.

I'm not sure we'll visit a Solas-related area though.. it would be a little awkward when he's in your party, sweating nervously in the background, trying to keep a straight face.

Hope we get lots of lore and further revelations as to exactly what Lyrium is, how it's formed (I mean, the red stuff is, as Cole points out, made of people) and all the messy connections it seems to have with everything else in Thedas. I'm in two minds about buying it right away or leaving it a few days after release to get a view from others. I'm also soooo glad I'm upgrading my pc. I'll soon be playing this game on across-the-board ultra and I frankly cannot wait.

Yay for SP DLC but...ugh, the Deep Roads.  They were mercifully short in DA2, but they were painful in Origins.  So many interminable brown tunnels.  At least they look more interesting in Inquisition.  I'll probably wait for all of you to weigh in on it before buying; I have to reinstall Inquisition and all the mods at this point :P

SABLE!

I've tried to keep the hellspirials going in your absence.

Unrelated to Sable and DLC:

Felicia Day has said that she'd love to come back to Dragon Age at some point.

On topic: what do you guys think Solas would make of Talis?

In any area where I think he has more to say about its history, culture or personal relation I usually just imagine him rolllllllllllllling his eyes at others' comments, so hard that it's a wonder they don't pop out of his skull and fly away to join the orbit of mysterious Thedas' second moon

I'm pretty sure that dwarf dude with the unblended eyeshadow problem is KARDOL. Y'know? The leader of the Legion of the Dead? I missed you man, where you been?

Also...those tainted dwarves don't seem like darkspawn. For one, their armor is way too fancy (and lyrium-inlaid, I think) for darkspawn to have made it. I'm praying to Dumat that those are Kal-Sharok dwarves. Fingers crossed.

FINE DWARVEN LORE, DIRECT FROM DLC CONTENT PLZ!

Goddamn shrieks. On one hand I am glad to see them back, b/c it's not Dragon Age without them and ogres, but on the other hand, nuuuuuu this is going to be bloody frightening and I want my warden to hold my Inky's hand.

I'll probably do two runs, one with my pre-WPHW elf-mage and bring Solas, Blackwall and Varric, and then my post-game elf-rogue with Cole, Cassandra and Bull.

It would be kind of bizarre for the Inquisition to fight Kal-Sharok dwarves, though- particularly since this could come before we do their war table missions.   My hunch leans more toward a new line of sentient darkspawn via the Architect.

And while we shouldn't be that surprised to find things growing in the deep roads (considering much of the Dwarves' lost domain had been used to farm food) I'm dying to find out what this is:

Kal Sharok dwarves are connected in some way to the Blight. If there is indeed a new Magister for us to meet (or perhaps the Architect?) it could be they were taken over like the Carta dwarves Corypheus used.

Also, I wonder where the Decent begins? It's probably a brand new area, but I'd be super happy if it started around that mine in the Western Approach where there may or may not be a sleeping Old God.

The blue lyrium connection would still be odd though, since in our current understanding, that's the unblighted version.  Also, while Corypheus and co may technically be darkspawn- they share the taint- from all appearances, they don't seem to have any significant control over others of their kind.  That's a point stressed pretty hard in DA:tC with the Architect and kind of intuited in DAI, since otherwise Corpheus would have been able to overwhelm Inquisition forces with an army of infinite darkspawn.   Instead, there's barely a trickle- just the remnants of the last blight.
