Well, he could mean please stand by till the next game. But I don't think so ![]()
EDIT:
Evenings in our family: "NO, DON'T GIVE SOLAS A WARDEN HELMET, WHAT THE **** ARE YOU THINKING?!"
When the fire nation attacked.
Wtf is the fire nation?
The nation of fire, of course.
In Last Flight, we find out that blight can be drawn from (embryonic?) living tissue by another being taking the corruption into themselves. It's possible that the source of the Kal-Sharok dwarves' taint is exactly that: sacrificing themselves to keep the Stone pure. No blight, no red lyrium.
You've just painted a target on your back for me to throw all of the lore things that occur to me for you to explain them. ![]()
What theories do we have on the actual mechanics of red lyrium? It's blighted lyrium, which is alive, but it can also grow out of living people until they're just a little spire of crystal in a cell. While it can grow, and those mechanics make a certain amount of sense to me, I don't understand how it started. If the Blight by itself damages lyrium like it damages the surface land and causes those weird organic growths, then there'd be a continent worth of red lyrium. It seems like it was quarantined in the Primeval Thaig, and Corypheus took samples from there and seeded them. The Profane refer to eating red lyrium as 'consuming the gods', and it's hinted in the Fade that the elven gods, or something else, are awakening in the 'Whispers Written in Red Lyrium' thing.
And why is so much lyrium we see that's treated as normal actually red? My friend in Origins made me flip a table in a theory-crafting meltdown when he asked 'Why is this lyrium red?' because the raw lyrium used for creating mana potions is red in that one. And I think some of the lyrium deposits in 2 are even red. The raw lyrium in Origins that's in the world is pretty consistently blue-green, and I agree with Ulv's comparison to mercury, and purified lyrium is silver.
There's really not much explanation of red lyrium. Corypheus finds it and takes in its power. He seems to jump on the opportunity to use any power offered by the Blight, and probably saw the red lyrium as a golden opportunity. His body seems fused with regular lyrium in Legacy, keeping in with the stories of ancient Magisters fusing their body with lyrium for extra power (and toxicity and insanity
). Then he comes back in a rambunctious red outfit. So he starts using the power of the Blight instead of calling upon Dumat, but he still doesn't boss darkspawn around.
If I remember The Calling correctly, the Architect commands darkspawn, but it's the typical alpha darkspawn method, isn't it? They follow whose strongest. And the Architect terrifies the other darkspawn.
Red lyrium doesn't seem to cause the same effects in Inquisition that it did in 2. A small idol of it caused hallucinations, madness, (all of those present in Red Templars) and a haunting by a spectral golem, complete with vases smashing into Hawke's face and Merrill yelling in a panic. Meredith turning into a statue seems foreshadowing for the farming method used by Corypheus, and her shape reminds me of the Tevinter statues in the Gallows and Western Approach.
I'm just kind of rambling. I've had a tiring day. ![]()
I can see the creatures in the lyrium armor as being
A) Kal'Sharok dwarves.
Dwarf Warden Ghouls like Utha. Which is mostly included because I'm desperate to see the Architect again, in all of his HD glory.
C) Genlocks, a throwback brood alongside the ape ones we saw in Legacy and see in The Descent trailer.
D) Something really weird.
Genlocks or Kal'Sharok dwarves seem the most likely to me. Kal'Sharok got some screentime for once with the War Table missions.
However, KS dwarves are described as looking more like the male dwarf in the trailer, aren't they? Pale and a bit creepy, but not full on white eyes and deformed? Unless the proposed taking in of the Taint is gradual, and some sacrifice more than others. ![]()
The picture pointed out earlier here as 'elfy' seems to have some foliage going on, and what almost looks like water? I'm reminded of the eerie temple pond in The Calling that Duncan stumbles across, that is slowly acidifying and is beneath the main Deep Roads. I think it was probably remnants of the same civilization that left behind the Primeval Thaig, just without the red lyrium corruption. Which, y'know. Is something I've been desperate for information on since Act I of Hawke's story. ![]()
Also, so much excitement for Deep Roads and dwarf content.
I may mostly focus on elf lore and appreciation these days, but Orzammar had my heart first. ![]()
*rereads* I seriously need to start organizing my lore meanderings like I used to. ![]()
And I think some of the lyrium deposits in 2 are even red.
Not going to touch on the rest of it because .. wow. I think if I start thinking about it all my brain will melt and leak out of my ears. But this point I will touch on. I believe in DA2, the crafting resources you find .. some of it is specifically listed as "Corrupted Lyrium" and I had always wondered wtf I was doing gathering *corrupted* lyrium as a flipping crafting resource. And how was it corrupted? And why?
Some of it was also labeled as "Raw Lyrium" and "Refined Lyrium" but I think the in game graphic was the same for all of it ... probably out of lack of time considering the reused maps in DA2.

Also, does anyone else find it suspicious as hell that Sandal comes across red lyrium, which baffles every other scientist and smith, and he calmly turns it into a rune that doesn't have harmful side-effects like Meredith's lyrium sword or Bartrand's tiny shard?
You expect me to believe you're just some savant dwarf, Sandal? Are you cereal?!
![]()
I can't help but hope that the secret that will shake the world in this DLC are some answers about Sandal. ![]()
I have an unrelated question. Have any of you upgraded to Windows 10 and had game problems? DAO won't save for me anymore, some of my games won't even load anymore. I'm was told I can go back to my old version of Windows and try 10 again later once some bugs and stuff have been fixed. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and fixed it?
Well..I was going to post a new pic of Solas so this post isn't completely out of topic, but there are none at the moment..so have a Fenris.

I think making red lyrium is a bit more complicated than just blue lyrium + blight + blood/biomass = red lyrium, otherwise most of the lyrium underground would probably have been corrupted by now. Sandal is love. Sandal is life. Clearly, Sandal is the Maker
I hope we see him in this DLC. Maybe this is more of the "The Stone Lives Beneath Orlais" stuff from DA2.
I don't really know how earth shattering this DLC can be, since it isn't post-game. For sure, it can't touch on anything super important to the Wardens without messing up their epilogue slides.
So was on Tumblr and geeky-jez had a very amusing glitch.

So the post became a bunch of Solas pants and leg reference shots: http://geeky-jez.tum...reference-shots

um...is nobody else alarmed that Solas seems to have had a run-in with a stage magician?
The ancient Elvhen were capable of many things unheard of to mortals. ![]()

Solas' penis looks quite large and it is not even erect. I guess he is the rebellious Wolf God for a reason. I also guess that's why Andruil and Anaris fought a duel to the near death over Fen'Harel.
The large wooded egghead.
Sorry for off-topic but is anyone else having problem playing with a keyboard and mouse? I'm having an issue where the game isn't responding to keyboard input for 5-10 seconds... Has anyone else encountered this?
Wait.. so the new DLC.. I have not been around and just saw the trailer and got excited... is it like after all the story because if it means I am happy that we get Solas back... BUT if it is not after the story.. then I am a little disappointed just because I reaaally wanted to get the explanation from him to my lavellan lol
XD not that I'm not willing to wait another DLC but IF it is the last one then I will be like: FFFUUU
hahah could someone like inform me a little?

Rofl. That's what you're seeing, just with pants.
Anyway, love how I came back to complain about no dlc, then dlc announcement right after. Looks like another 15 dollar large fighting area though, so I'll just wait till you lot give spoilers.

It happens any time after you get to Skyhold -- but they are aware we really want a post-ending DLC. Regardless, this is still more Solas time! And I'm excited for the possible lore learning we will have. Also, a little excited to get back to the Deep Roads (don't hurt me).

I see it as ball cleavage. One testicle tends to drop down to the side more than the other, especially if the seam is snug.

Honestly, it looks average sized from this angle (although once erect...that is a different story. looks can be deceiving) Just my opinion.

Edit: Can't believe I'm talking about Solas' penis size. Wait...no, I can! Well we are discussing his character design.
Double Edit: Check out the vein detail on his hand. Think about THAT for a second...... HA!

I see that my failure at the Inquisition talent show is still apparent.

Hey where is that Solas fruit pic you said you were making?
