What time does the dlc come out? midnight at pacific standard time or something?

I haven't seen any timestamps, so I'm not sure (which is why I am antsy!). I've heard some people have it already. But not sure about that either.

I expected it wouldnt show up until at least 9 pm est if it was going early. I think that's when Inquisition showed up.

To me the whole multiple-beings-in-one-body thing can run the gamut from icky to romantic to deeply distressing depending on how it's portrayed.

I think of it like music. Straight-up posession is dissonance, followed by one voice completely overwhelming the other. The symbiotic relationships that Avvar mages can have with spirits are more like melody and harmony. And each experience of sharing a body (and potentially an identity) probably varies based on the people involved.

Well, there's Anders and then there's the show Dollhouse. There are all sorts of ways this can go well, like the Avvar, which is important, and how it can sometimes be quite difficult to adjust to, or at least, work differently than expected. And there are ways in which is could be very, very bad.

captaincaranis captured some of the best Solas screenshots out there. And some others, but mostly Solas.

 

 

I don't know the complete story, but there were two other occasions when posts talking about nasty messages went up and she 'closed' the blog and another time pulled down all posts but left it up. Some people reached out in Russian to see if they could help and I know lots of us sent over some simple supportive messages and reblogged stuff. Then she came back.

 

I don't really understand people starting Tumblr drama, but it's a shame to lose someone contributing positively to a fandom.

You have to remember that stereotypes can have its truths. Tumblr has crazy people because they can live in their little bubble. Like any social media that is popular you get all kinds of people. But the difference is t's not like here, reddit, 4chan, or whatever discussion board where we can call out and laugh at your crazy.

 

I don't goto her blog so I don't know what else she does on that account. I'm asking because I found alot of creepy stuff about the guy who makes fan elven translations so I'm a bit weary.

The translation guy suddenly launched into some 'Tell me about yourself via anon and I'll tell you if I'd date you' thing one day and it went on for days at least and was weird. And he replied to them all in the open.

 

As far as captaincaranis, every post was pretty much screenshots so it's more confusing why it became a target.

Even long before tumblr or when social media really exploded people were half-joking at deviantART that you don't really become popular until you start getting random hate-mail, but still... I don't know - on one hand I know 'teh Interwebz' well enough to not be surprised, but till this day I keep getting surprised by depths of human stupidity and hatred cloaked by relative anonymity. It can be depressing

And Sense8, which my boyfriend has been watching.  The consciousness-sharing in that gets used for everything from heroic rescues to intense empathy to mind rape 

 

I dunno.  I can absolutely understand how sharing a body/consciousness/identity can be a deeply creepy concept, but I think it makes for interesting storytelling.  Anders/Justice in DA2 was very distressing to watch, but I really liked it as a story.
