It's in Pride's Tomb in Dragon Age 2 and listed as "Strange Statue" or something to that effect.

It's in Legacy as a statue of Dumat.

It is apparently associated with Elgie the Thunderer. 

And what's up with the horned skull in that image that was just posted?

Had a look, "strange idol" was the one, Merrill claims a spirit was bound there. The wiki says the artifact (the swirly statue) does not contain the demon anymore (because the Keeper took it into herself). Does that mean the strange idol can contain a living spirit? That would fit the codex entry for the Thing in the Dark: This statue is oddly warm to the touch and shivers slightly, as though it might have a pulse. I wonder what spirit it holds, and if the one in the Tomb of the Emerald Knight has one too .

 

What's Elgie the Thunderer? Or is that your nickname for Elgar'nan? .

 

The tombstone with that horned skull? The wiki (http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Razikale) says it depicts worshipers of Razikale engaged in a religious ceremony.

Yeah, the Pride Demon was imprisoned somewhere in that cave. It's an odd statue, isn't it? I think Madrar has a theory connecting its multiple arms to the multiple arms seen in the elvish illustrations. Presumably, they're all Ghilan'nain's horrors.

The main problem is that the fanbase itself is a very negative place (like Shallow Water said).  You have the sterotypical dudegamers decrying the games for the their 'feminist SJW propaganda' (their words, not mine) and on the other side of the fandom you have people complaining that the devs aren't doing enough for diversity.  And then there's the 'the only good game is Baldur's Gate' crowd...

I accidentally posted this in the twitter thread but basically I spent my whole morning sniffing over my pancakes while I watched Solas videos. The PAX announcement tease has me way too high strung. 

 

So I'm here for some theory-spinning.

I use the least useful upgrades (the battlemage mail legs) because they're the only ones that leave his feet out. Solas and shoes is just... wrong.

Also, your Lavellan is so pretty.

Which ones are more useful? What makes them more useful?

IMO, any armor upgrade with utility (more mana or willpower for a mage) are better than increase to defenses (my builds tend to be a bit glass-canon'y, but I don't really die that often, and I now play exclusively on Nightmare difficulty).

 

Therefore best high-level schematics for legs are Battlemage Armor Legs and Enchanter Coat Legs, as well as Battlemage Armor Arms and Enchanter Armor Arms.

I finished Descent and now I'm stuck in Solavellan hell again and restarted a new playthrough *sighs* Anyway, it's been a while since I last posted here, but I had a few thought lore-wise that I haven't seen here yet

I've been thinking about the link between the Titans and the fade, and about the fact Solas mentionned that the veil didn't always exist. What if the Titans were actually the "creators" of the Fade. They dream it, or at least their consciousness creates it. After all, their blood is lyrium and lyrium, magic and the Fade are closely related. I wonder if there once existed a time, at the very beginning, when the Titans were fully awake and the world was a very different place. The Veil didn't exist, spirit roamed the world and the ground shook with the Titans moving. Dwarfs were a hive-mind, closely tied to their titans, and the first elves tried and barely managed to live on the ever shifting surface. Then, as both the song of El'garnan and the codex about the pillars of the world mention, the elvhen creators went to war with the Titans in a bid to make the world a more secure place for themselves. They killed some of them (and might be in part responsible for blighting others?) and freed some of the dawrves to finally think for themselves. That war ended with the remaining titans falling into a sort of statis, and with that, the Veil came up. The Titans aren't conscious anymore and so the Fade became separate from the "real" world. The Titans are dreaming the Fade more or less.

 

Now, I'm pretty sure there are some here on the forum with more lore knowledge than I do, but I thought the idea was interesting enough to share. What do people think?

I think if they elves went to war with the Titans it wasn't for their survival but for their benefit. I can see a group of them being just haughty enough and greedy enough to think they can steal from and destroy the Titans for lyrium. But I also think that the dwarves screwed up and somehow cut themselves off from the Titans- maybe some of them sided with the elves- but that also doesn't seem right. 

 

Maybe something the elves did is what caused the veil to begin with, or maybe the Titans created the veil to protect themselves...from...something. Or maybe the Dwarves did it and accidentally cut themselves off from it in the process?

I had something happen to me with the 'investigate corpses' thing, too. Was worried it was serious. I thought I was boned, but I saw a red dot on my radar I couldn't get to initially. Finally found the bugger and once I killed it, the corpses were able to be investigated. Phew.

 

I've been around and across the entire room multiple times. Empty. I claimed the claim spot/fast travel spot, got the cutscene about the thaig, I could continue downward, but can't interact with those corpses. I've never wanted to interact with corpses this much in my life.

 

I've gone back to Life is Strange while I hope they are working on a fix.I'll probably submit a report directly to EA later just to add a number to those having an issue here.
