Okay. Trying to get back in the groove of sharing some art...

What if Lavellan at one point had actually met Solas when she was a child?

Spoiler

Dread Wolf.

That one where Solas meets our Inquisitor as a child, too many feels.

The dread wolf one...Too many feelings...If you get what I mean. Lol

*tastes air, slinks out of cave*

Every time I take a break from learning Bulgarian, there is some sort of Sign From the Universe that is like, "No, no, I will randomly insert Bulgarian Encounters into your life like you were overland map traveling in an RPG."

That is all.

Let us start with здравей then :)

So glad someone's been trying to learn! If you ever want to pick it up again, I'd be glad to help, if only just to chat.

Oh, man, I'm totally obsessed with Elvhen. I've been trying to actually learn some (at least the Project Elvhen version of it).

Today I was walking towards a conference room for a meeting when a colleague actually heard me speaking to myself in Elvhen. I was trying different phrases on my tongue. I guess he probably assumed I was actually talking to myself in Bulgarian, but still, I bet I sounded kinda crazy.

Nice :D. I'm now able to pick out a few words if I see them.

The other day I was thinking what vir'abelasan meant. I remembered vir was way/path, abelas was sorrow and the last bit was a suffix. I was happy .

I like coming up with phrases based on other phrases. For example, when Morrigan kills Abelas, his last words are, "Mythal sulevin!" Sulevin means something like certainty, purpose, intent, so I inferred he says, "For Mythal!" Based on that I headcanoned you can pair sulevin with anything to indicate intent ot purpose. For example:

banal sulevin - there's no point

revas sulevin - my headcanon for Fen'Harel's battle cry during his rebelion. Dude still repeats this to himself when he's about to do something desperate.

atisha sulevin! - for peace's sake! (i.e. leave me alone!)

var suledin nadas, enasalin sulevin - we must endure for the sake of victory (more "modern" meaning is we must work hard to win)

And so on, I basically go on like this in my head a lot...

Today I was thinking of what could be the elven word for donut. :P I thought about elgara'bradh (alternatively bradh'vun). Literally "sun cake" :)

Have to admit, I had to look up who Tarquinius Superbus was!

(And it's my second language too, don't worry about it :P).

Languages in general fascinate me, I really enjoy Elvhen . Especially when spoken by Solas and Abelas.

When I was a child, I remember telling everyone I wanted to learn every single language. I was a bit....overly ambitious.  :D  I'm currently (slacking off) learning my third language, Portuguese (Brazilian) (though I have studied bits of others a little here and there).

I'm fascinated by languages in fiction, especially when there is some structure and sense to them. Tolkien is, naturally, the model for this. In DA, it seems more guesswork since they didn't begin working from a planned language. Though Project Elvhen is nice for a fan project.

I've never had that either. I wonder if having Varric in the party is required or if his line is one of those (if present) optional things. I hardly used Varric.

Yes, but this is at the start of the game, right after meeting Varric and Solas. I always get the banter of Varric asking Lavellan if she's innocent instead.

Yes, I read something about it being a cipher instead of a language. I'm not entirely sure what that means.

I remember when I first got that and didn't answer in time, I reloaded my save and it wouldn't happen again. Maybe it's random like that -_-.

You have to go to a certain place in the tutorial area (you know, when you are still a prisoner). It's only available in the one place, a location banter.

both are location specific banters, so you didn't get one instead of the other :)

Ashaantha already mentioned but yeah this is a location specific banter that happens somewhere in the beginning of the game after you meet Varric and Solas. You'll have to do a bit of exploring but you'll have to follow a path leading to an area where there are demons surrounding a little campfire with a few dead bodies (if I remember correctly).

The banter happens (at least for me) after you've killed the demons and leave that area.

pretty much when you just finish the tac-cam tutorial fight against the 4 demons, stay to the opposite side of the cliff then the path up the hill which triggers the "are you innocent" banter. run past the house that is to the left of said path and keep going, follow it up a slope to a campfire and 3 demons, kill the demons and on your way back the banter should trigger. If you want to save so you can hear it again save before the demons get fought, not after or you miss out.

ninja'd haha. typing is hard and slow with a toddler trying to 'help' haha

Also, way to go Solas, the Breach is unstable, the Mark is unstable, soldiers from Haven are struggling to fight off the demons... But do go on about how the Dalish didn't like you  -_-

Actually I liked how he was the one to chat to a Dalish. Varric asks a human, Qunari and dwarf about themselves or where they're from.

Anybody wondered what might've made the startling, loud "roar" that occurs when we first enter Valammar?

That's right, I'd forgotten about that..

I don't have anything to add to what you said, just that you sound like you might be onto something!

Quick question: why does Corypheus even want the red lyrium? I know he feeds it to his people but what is his long-term plan with that? All I remember is Imshael saying something about being the gardener with cultivating red lyrium on Corypheus' people.

Red lyrium is extremely powerful. It enhances abilities to a much higher degree than regular lyrium, not to mention since it's Blighted Corypheus probably felt something familiar about it. Who knows how long he'd been wandering aroud as Larius/Janeka before Bianca found him. He was probably fascinated with a red kind of lyrium when he first heard about it, and then given full sanction and freedom to experiment about the differences between it and blue lyrium? Morally corrupt mage's dream come true.

And, since his immediate goal was to breach the Fade again and walk into the Black City, using red lyrium as a power source *might* be enough to cut down on the necessary blood sacrifices that were required the first time. While I have no doubt Corypheus would have used all of his people as a sacrifice, he wouldn't have nearly the numbers that he had before.

I see, so he was using the red lyrium on his people to simply make them more powerful. I didn't realize he was using the body of Larius/Janeka when Bianca found him, I didn't play that DLC. That quest makes more sense now.

I really didn't learn a lot from Valammar as a place. Maybe they were intentionally vague, if they're going to use it in the future.
