I like the possibility that the one who drank from the well is bound to Solas. It makes the romance more complicated but still possible. Even though Solas doesn't like it that you drink from the well, I see it that he doesn't like it because you become bound to Mythal and Mythal can control you. Solas values freedom so his reaction makes sense in that situation. However he later on he kills Mythal because he doesn't have a choice and gets all those who are bound to Mythal to himself including romanced Lavellan. I don't think that would prevent the romance from continuing because even though he has the power to control Lavellan it doesn't mean that he will use it. Of course it could be that he needs you and if you drank from the well then he can control you and make you do things you don't want to but if he needs you and you didn't drink from the well then he might ask you to do things but if you refuse you might have to fight him. Anyway if he needs you and you refuse to help him then there is probably some severe consequences but if you agree to him then everything is probably well.

 

 

See, I keep hoping that the Well will play at least some part in the DLC (future game sounds unlikely as it will not be about Inky). I have two Solasmancing Lavellans standing by, ready for DLC. One who drunk from the well and the other one who let Morrigan drink from the well. Although I consider Lavellan who has drunk from the Well more cannon than the non-drinker (lol). That is possibly because she is cuter and it was my nightmare completionist playthrough...

 

I can't imagine Solas taking control over this connection from the Well. Just seems so unlike him to make or force someone to do his bidding. But then if this is what stands between him and the Success Of the Geat Mysterious Plan, he just might take advantage of Mythal's power. He seems to be for drastic or violent measures if that gets him what he wants or gets the right result.

Right now I think I almost have down the first 3 chapters of my fic, but I can't be truly done, because I'm stuck on... the description of a room. Seriously, at some point I need to describe Lavellan's quarters at the Temple of Mythal and I can't come up with anything. (She even mentions at one point that she hardly spends any time there, so I guess she truly doesn't care, lol.) It's very frustrating, and I've been struggling with it for several days. If anyone has any advice on how to generate passable room descriptions, I'd be so thankful! Stupid Temple of Mythal bedroom is stupid. 

Start out describing the lighting and its effects on the room, maybe? Or the temperature if that's special? Some tactile quality.

It will all just depend on if the geas was transferred to Solas or not. I think it was, and I think that outcome is going to be vastly different than any other. Did anyone here have a non-romanced, non-friendly playthrough with Solas? I wonder what he'll be like if he hated the Inquisitor and the inquisition.

It'd be interesting if he's all regretfully using a well drinker he liked/romanced and is like "Haha! Poetic justice!" at one he hated. lol

 

Also, wondering if he'll be all "Haha!" at Morrigan if she drank instead. I mean, sure he wasn't a fan of her in the temple (he was actually a bit too harsh on her, imo), but she's still Mythal's kid, essentially. And he's got Mythal in him now.

My guess is that it wouldn't matter whether he's friend or rival, just because he seems so desperate, so he'll do what needs to be done either way. But if you had high approval with him, he will be really regretful about it. Unfortunately I don't have a PT where he hates the Inquisitor.

The drinking from the well is the whole reason I did that AFTER I finished Jaws of Hakkon and Descent, so now if my decision not to drink from the well was a stupid one, I'll just go back and do it over with minimum fuss.

I believe that the person who can control those who are bound to him/her knows when she/he gives an order and I also believe that the person who is bound will know if the person in control has given her/him that kind of order and because I believe that then the romance is possible and not doomed. Well not much

 

I think he is angry if you drank from the well because you are now bound to Mythal which means that you are Mythal's slave so he doesn't want his beloved to lose her freedom to some god who might have some plans for her. Whatever they might be but probably nothing nice.

You are freakin' amazing

I tried to picture the finished product myself (as part of the the process of trying to figure out what kind of creature that is (wolfy-dragony-wolfy-wolf-dragon) and I thought of filling in the blanks but since my art style is so different from Solas' stylized fresco I gave up before even starting.

Now I cannot imagine it in another manner, the way you took the blues in the fresco for Temple of Mythal and made it the frostback mountains is awesome.

This also shows you can have the ground they stand on non-existent, like the sentinels to the left, it's okay because it's symbolic.

The only thing I would've changed here is the arch about the right sentinel, which was filled with blue. Although the texturing is nice I think it should've extended all the way like the arch to the left,

Hahaha, ouch! I have restarted my very first game (about 50-55 hours?) because Solas dumped me on the balcony. I think I might have started romance too late in the game or didn't have enough approval. After 'I respect you inquisitor' I spend the next 10 hours completing storyline and wondering where the romance dialogue options have disappeared, because surely 'I respect you' doesn't translate into 'I am breaking up with you!' haha    After existing the denial stage, I have restarted the whole game. Because if you don't love me, I will go BACK IN TIME!

Yup... the things I do to appease my LI...

I have only reloaded after some discussions or decisions if I got too much disapproval (in my opinion) and I haven't needed to start over the whole game. But that's because I'm very careful with disapproval and if I think I get it too much of it I reload. I also flirt with my LI when I have a change and I don't flirt with others because I fear that the romance will fail. Quite often I get  a bad feeling that something might go wrong and because of it I usually read what will happen in the romance to find out is  there something that is going to affect the romance I did that with DA:O, DA:2 and DA:I I didn't do it with ME series though. I just hate the idea that I will have to play many hours again because I made a mistake and didn't realize it. But next time I'm going to be strong and not do that!

I may be to late to the well drinking part but this is how i see it Solas took only Mythal's power and since she agrees from the dev notes that she is giving this power to him as long as she passes her godhood to Morrigan it may be her that may control the inquisitor in the end and not Solas.She does passes something through the eluvian what it is? (her essence/part of her to be reborn again or pass to Morrigan?) we don't know yet for sure:)
