No Lavellan I ever knew was anything less than intelligent and curious and beautiful and everything Solas could ever want.   ;)

Also I am VERY attached to my Lavellan, she is my little perfect snowflake.

I've already had to challange Sable over in the Alistair thread about this:

My Lavellan is also a perfect little snowflake.

There can be only one.

There is a certain cynicism that comes with anything after a period of time.  There are certain...consistent tropes...that seem to crop up in a lot of the quizzies so I mean if people are sort of lampooning it then it's just what people do. With literally anything ever.  If it's mean-spirited then yeah - they are a-holes -- but if it's just to poke fun a bit at it then ignore it or laugh.

On the flip side - as I've said before - there is a certain contingent that is just straight up aggressive about their headcanons.  And how they view Solas. And what is the proper way a Lavellan has to be with Solas. It's very off-putting.  Like - my friend got vague-blogged - about how she chose the final romance dialogue. The person was like 'the lavellan is abusive" that says this. And using a bunch of insanely charged language.  No. That's not community minded. That's just being hateful.

If I find an OC boring or weird or whatever - I tend to completely ignore it though.   I let people keep on keepin' on.  Be free!

I was going to write up a response but then I realised that all my feelings can be expressed by:

:I

Wait, no...

:I

Re: The Lavellan criticism: It's probably because a certain male mage is so awesome, he blew everyone out of the water with his trident. Enjoy.

...

What?

Two of my great loves in life <3

I chalk up the recycled dialogue effect to social awkwardness on Solas's part; I did the same for Liara since her dialogue is often shared between friendship and romance. Obviously I would prefer the dialogue not to overlap like that, but I think it makes sense for certain characters. Solas clearly doesn't have much in the way of non-spirit friends, so I think he'd be a little intense about it even if it's platonic.

That said, I'd only seen his scenes through the Solavellan romance. So when I got the Fade dream with Man Adaar, Adaar was all like, "Solas, we're bros, but we need to have a chat about frigging social boundaries."

Maybe Man Adaar shouldn't have wandered into Solas' dreams, then!

All things considered, I'm just glad we even got him.  Not ever dev team would have been willing to slide in a new content path when they had already bitten off more than they could chew.

Though if Solas hadn't been an option, my canon Lavellan probably would've romanced Josie.  And it would have been the most disgustingly cute, fluffy, Disney Princess romance to ever princess :D

giphy.gif

I ended up getting pretty far into Josie's romance with my canon Nightmare!Lavellan, until I remember the reason I was doing this was to set up for Wolf Hunt...

Oh those aren't eluvians, there the transformation mirrors like in the Black Emporium. Bioware was so overwhelmed by the positive response at being able to change your Inquisitors looks mid-game that they thought if they put a mirror EVERYWHERE they'd get even more kudos and love. Now you can change your haircolour to suit every landscape and occasion.

In somewhere near the Hinterlands? But I don't think that's right- it looks way too mountainy to be the Hinterlands.

The fact that there is so little talk of the giant Eluvian in the never before seen area in here is disturbing!

Can't like this because I'm out of likes.

My canon Lavellan's not quite right for the Swan Princess, though. Too much corrupting influence (Buuut I do have Solas/Lavellan/Josephine smut that I plan to finish some day. And in my headcanon it totally happened  ).

Instead I paired Josie with my female human Andrastian Warrior, who is modelled after Saber from Fate Zero. Her relationship with Josie is exactly like Saber with Irisviel... a knight in shining armor!

Spoiler

Saber <3 .

I've always thought one of the best thing about Solas and the romance is that you can be anyone you damn well please. Young, naive and inexperienced in the world and/or in love? Fine! World-weary veteran with a history and past? Sure! Mage, rogue, or someone that likes to hit things until they fall down? No problem. Some might not like how much is left open to interpretation with the romance, but honestly, that's what gives us such flexibility to have our Lavellans be whoever we imagine them to be. So how can someone be doing it wrong? There is no wrong, and that's the beauty of it.

I agree that people can't play his romance in a wrong way and I also think that applies to playing games in general. I don't know how it's possible to play a game in a wrong way. My first Lavellan was quite young and naive and she didn't suspect who Solas truly was. She wanted to help the people because they needed help. My second Lavellan suspects that Solas is not who he says he is but she is also more mature and she doesn't trust people so much. She gathers allies and favors from them in case she needs them later. My third Lavellan is quite straightforward. She will put the inquisition interests first and make decisions so that most people will survive. She will choose civilians over the solders. She tries to minimize casualties even if it means that her own soldiers will die. She doesn't suspect who Solas is.

I allied with the Templars, stopped him from killing the mages who summoned Wisdom, kept the Wardens and made Cole human, and Solas still loved my Lavellan. It's the little things that keep the approval up. Same with Cole. If you have him join you and ally with the Templars and you have not done anything to help the people in the Hinterlands, he will dislike you immediately.

I created a Lavellan who allied with mages and stopped Solas from killing the mages in his mission. I'm going to keep the wardens and make Cole Human. I was wondering whether this will work so knowing that it's possible is a relief. I think I have reached his maximum approval because I don't get any approval from activating the artifacts. But I'm going to do Here Lies the Abyss next so after that I can build up his approval more.

Well the trees , waterfall reminds me of the Hinterlands but I can't remember that area...and Hinterland was supposed to be your generic Ferelden countryside I assume...

And

...and is that a griffon in the upper right corner?   :o

And yeah looks like there's something flying , I thought maybe a dragon.

Listen. Okay.  We have to be calm. Organized. Decipher it one at a time. How many Eluvians first...I see two? Someone should try to clear up the whisp in the background.

I see a fallen down statue- fen'harel?

The whisp just seems to be... a whisp? Doesn't appear to be a cloud though - maybe it's something emanating from the top of the mountain? Maybe eluvians will lead on the peak?

I wish I could draw on that without it taking twelve hours, but if I was trying I could make a dragon out of that. lol. Especially the wing part.

My Lavellan probably would've been totally adorable with Josie but I think the Creators bestowed angst upon her life since it kind of came down to Solas or Sera and Sera's issues with elfy things made it a lot of trouble and possibly pretty hurtful. I've mentioned it before but Josie reminded me of me and it felt weird, so I figured I'd do that one later with someone else.

I'm going to just hibernate for the next 27 hours. Who's with me?

Maybe it's the scar left in the Sky from when Cory reopened the Fade at the end. Cole did say that the sky will always be scarred.

I probably should... I vowed to keep my expectations low. But I already posted about that dragon. Also is there some red statue in the center.

I'm usually way off with these things anyway :D

It doesn't appear to be a dragon or any flying creature - the shape is just too irregular. It appears to be a vapor of some sort.

Here - I've outlined it.

Could have been modified in photoshop to hide it. Or at least, kind of hide it.

I'm not saying it's a dragon but I'm not saying it's not something.
