Mentioned this a few pages back, but "trespasser" is also a potential reference to Shartan. Remember in DA:O when you meet the spirit posing as Shartan in the gauntlet? His riddle is as follows:

(the answer is "home")

A few hours ago, the DA wiki page for Shartan was the first result for Dragon Age trespasser, which is how I remembered the riddle.  ;)

That sounds like Solas.

You know, with all of the complaining and sometimes griping we have done over DLC news and all the "Surprise DLC" announcements, now we get advance notice and it's like gaaaaahhhh we have to wait.

Be careful what you wish for.

Something else I find interesting

Given that

"Culturally, Qunari associate not having horns with being imposing or scary, and because of this Tal-Vashoth often decide to remove their own horns.[9] Likewise, Saarebas, the Qunari mages, have their horns removed to warn of their danger.[10]"

I wonder again what makes this particular Saarebas so special, much like his Female qunari master...

Spoiler

Spoiler

Spoiler

More intrigue... I wonder if this is all related to their assault on the inquisition and the inquisitor himself/herself like "circumstances of war" or whether these have deeper implications.

I'm more worried about Qunari messing with magic...hell if they want to kill the Inquisitor so badly , they're willing to use Eluvians ,and maybe go to the Crossroads.

I suspect they might know something we don't.

Because those people dislike magic , Eluvians are magical artifact , the Crossroad is a magical realm etc...

And somehow I'm not sure I want to play that DLC. After that, it will all be over. No more Inquisitor... I must admit I'm pretty attached to her.DA:I was a great game...what if I won't like the next DA games?

True it will be over, but you can always play it again with a new Inquisitor.  Or the same one, if you have an early enough save still.

But this is a good wait. This is an excited, stay up at night waiting for Santa (Solas) type of wait. I'm going to be giddy for the whole week (and a bit). And when that Tuesday comes, I will be surrounding myself in crap food, watching the seconds tick past as the DLC downloads, knowing that a years worth of questions and expectations will be finding their conclusion (with probably more questions raised).

As an aside, I'm so happy Solas is staying bald. I was really worried that they'd have him all dreadlocked and punked as people so often depicted him. Luckily that's just a strange fanart thing.

It was official concept art. Possibly what he might have looked like in his youth.

But what if I don't like the final DLC? :P

- Solas leaves Lavellan to die.

- Solas can't help. Lavellan dies.

- Solas doesn't answer any question and leaves. Lavellan dies.

These are most likely scenarios to me.

I don't even dare dreaming about:

Solas helps Lavellan and takes her with him somewhere safe. They ride off into the sunset...or something.  - This sounds like a fantasy tale with rainbows and unicorns and lots of kittens. And yet I want it so badly...

Concept art changes a lot. Vivienne was originally white. The whole fanart headcanon of Fen'Harel looking like the concept art is just not my thing. Concept art is not the final art for a reason.

I actually had a thought on that, besides the obvious Warden/Morrigan romance ending in Witch Hunt joke. What if the Inquisitor has to leave with him to survive? And you get the choice to do it or stay and be consumed.

And thank goodness for that! I love his bald head lol he's unique to me that way.

We don't really know how powerful the Inquisitor's mark is, but the smart money's on really terrifyingly powerful.

We keep learning uber-powerful skills for it, and plus there's the small matter of allowing its wielder to walk physically in the Fade. And also control elven orbs, which are demonstrably super dangerous.

If the Inquisitor wasn't me, I'd want to get rid of them too. I wouldn't know their values or morality (actually, even knowing my Adaar's morality, I wouldn't trust him with the mark). For all everyone else knows, the inquisitor could be just as corrupt as Corypheus. I don't really blame the Qunari for wanting to eliminate the inquisitor, if that's their motivation. The inquisitor has way more power than anyone can safely have.

I know it was initial concept art, but they didn't decide to go with it. However, the amount of fanart showing him as this makes it out like this is how he'd return when he's come into his power. It's almost like saying that the streaked blue/black hair I had dyed when I was 20 should be the look I go for now (which is wrong cause my freckles make it look silly instead of alluring). It's the same with Thane. He had a ton of different concept art looks but people always draw him as him. I'm just glad that they stuck to his final character design.

A power that they did not ask for. A power they got by accident. Its a lot like Jean Grey's Phoenix Force. Yes it is powerful and dangerous, but the Inquisitor did not choose to have any more than Jean Grey chose to be bestowed with the Phoenix Force.

I would personally take a leaf out of Xavier's book and teach the Inquisitor to control the Mark instead of killing them for it. That's what he did with Jean Grey.

I like to headcanon that in his youth he was this well-built young elf/God with the auburn hair (never realized until recently he's a redhead lol) and the Solas we know now is the aged Fen'Harel who has seen too much, endured pain and aged beyond what a God should but his sassy youthful side still lingers if you bring it out of him in convo and come on, those kisses are from a very experienced man! He even used tongue! lol

Thinking even more - could it be possible that the qunari military/police/spies are more diverse/divided than we thought? We're taught the qunari think of their society like one cohensive body-politic - where each person plays a part together.

But, a number of people have pointed out a few weird things about the trailer - a female warrior, and the number of saberaas for one, as well as a race that's skeptical of magic using ancient elven portals. It could be the equivalent of a special ops team chasing the inquisitor down. I doubt the qunari would allow their soldiers to use the eluvians, given 'elven magic' is not something that screams trust to a qunari. Perhaps some groups are divided into cells which can act individually, without referencing superiors, when circumstances and the qun demands so - that would explain the arishok's attack in Kirkwall, and how it wasn't officially sanctioned.

If so, someone may be manipulating an individual faction, or cell, and thus doesn't mean an all-out war is in the making. Although, if Solas is manipulating the qunari for his own ends, I'd be super impressed if he's managed to infiltrate & manipulate the command structure so deeply as to make that a possibility.

But this is a good wait. This is an excited, stay up at night waiting for Santa (Solas) type of wait. I'm going to be giddy for the whole week (and a bit). The dreadlocks come from a number of initial, preliminary sketches by BW artists when they were trying to figure out Solas' design. I think a darker skinned, dreadlocked Solas was one of many design options they considered. They ended up going with the egg head we all know and love. But that's the reason you see the locks so much in fanart.

Yeah but how do the Qunari know...I mean I hope Bull wasn't stupid enough to give details about the mark , he can't say he doesn't know Qunari are paranoid about magic.

The only thing the populace knows is the Inquisitor can close rifts , and the Breach with some help.

The rest walking in the Fade , at Haven , people were unsure about what happened...and in Adament you can ask your team to be quiet about it.

And only a few people know about foci.

Closing rifts isn't dangerous.

I wondered when Ferelden and Orlais were going to wise up. Giving a foreign military power a stronghold within your own borders is probably the dumbest thing you can do.

Solution :- Use the Mark to send the Ferelden and Orlesian nobility directly into the Fade to spend time with Corypheus' corpse.

As an aside, who says that Solas is using the Qunari? We know he really had a palpable dislike for them, but we don't know whether Mythal feels the same way. And we know how good at planning 100 steps ahead she is. Want a good chess match? I'd love to see Solas and Mythal go head to head. Not sure Solas would win either.

I'm freaking out over his voice. He sounds different. He's not the unassuming hobo when he says that line. Hes very much Fen'Harel.

Now his voice in Decent makes sense. It was deeper, (darker in a way?) than his voice from the main game. Might have been hard to recapture his old tone if he recorded all the lines in one go.

Or is it just me?
