I got to the part where one of the women said that they tried so hard to get across that Solas is very kind and sympathetic; that he cares about every living creature and how they're treated.

 

Considering how many people here in the BSN steadfastly refuse to believe that he's anything but a villain who means harm, I'm glad she made that clear. 

Eh. I do believe he cares about people. But he's a bit like Dobby in that his track record for "helping" isn't exactly all that great. 

 

Kindness and caring doesn't stop you from borking things up after all.

Really excited for more Solas. Excited enough to make my canon Inquisitor again to get my heart broken by Solas once more, so we can (hopefully) have some closure in the DLC. Love him and his romance, but it always felt really unresolved, so I mostly opted for Cullen in other playthroughs. But with a chance for more romance scenes on the horizon, it's time to switch back to my first romance choice. 

 

Also really interesting background info on Solas and his interest in the Inquisitor. His interest in them always shone through in his romance/friendship scenes, especially the one on the balcony. And the way he looks at the Inquisitor when everyone else is busy singing while fleeing from an enemy.

There's a difference between "Solas cares, but he's bad at showing it," and "Solas is a filthy ****** liar! He lied about who he was, he lied about the Orb, therefore he lied about everything! He's not kind, he's not a good person, he's just a villain! There's nothing good about him, and he deserves to die!"

 

And that, unfortunately, seems to be the more common view, considering all the Solas hate all over the internet. 

Funny. I haven't really seen it outside of reddit/4chan. 

 

Mostly I see "Solas done effed up. Cool guy, crap boyfriend." Maybe I'm just missing all the hate. *shrug*
