I think he has everything to do with it. There was a site I went to that hypothesized the inquisition allying with the ancient elves: http://femhype.com/2...lc-just-leaked/
If this is true, then I am almost sure Solas is either leading the elven side of the alliance or manipulating it greatly.
No matter what, though, I'm just hyped for some ancient elvhen content that is probably going to be heavy in this DLC.
It looks like he saves the Inquisitor from the Qunari, so I don't think he's with them like others have speculated, unless he just wanted to chat in peace before the fight resumes lol

Anyone noticed the definite differences to Solas' styling? Example: his shoulder guards (idk the name) which used to be silvery white metal are now black. His skirt thingy which used to be light brown is now black. His voice seems to be much more deep. it's almost as if he's become more "dark" of a character.
In retrospect, I think this is all a metaphor for him turning "black wolf" (in comparison to his white counterpart). I just hope he's not going to do something bad enough that makes our inquisitor or a future protagonist in the next game have to take him down.
I'm stubbornly clinging to the fact that the "dread wolf" is replaced by a white one in his romanced tarot. There's a slim chance the Solavellan playthrough might diverge a bit. Possibly quite a bit, given that he seems to appear late in the narrative.

I'm actually pretty optimistic for this. I was expecting the quizzy to either die or fight Solas. The fact that the quizzy is being hunted down makes me wonder whether she will have the option to walk away into an eluvian with Solas a la Witch Hunt. Otherwise he'd have to give a pretty damn good reason for leaving her, and more than "can't do this for ~reasons~".
I'm hopeful that we'll have a conversation with Solas more than once, and more than just at the end. Just a gut feeling.
Either way, the writers have emphasised companion interaction for this DLC, and likely that will include tailored romance dialogues. I think it'd be pretty callous to ignore how important this for Solavellan fans in particular, given the rather sudden, tragic note that ends on, and I expect almost completely separate conversations for Solalavellan. The reunion is so much more complicated in terms of pure feels for romancers, let alone possible outcomes.
My only concern with Solas and Lavellan or even an Inquisitor who he really respects, is Solas aka Fen'Harel cares for them. No question. He deeply cares for the Inquisitor if you have high approval. What bothers me is he's not all Solas/Fen'Harel anymore unless that ending with Flemeth is proven to be different than what it seems, so does that mean he will never be the same again? Or Like Anders and Justice, is Mythal no more? That is the one thing I hope we get an answer to before it's over.
I think it's ambiguous whether he absorbed Mythal's power, Mythal's soul, Urthemiel's power, Urthemiel's soul, or any combination of the four (depending on your DA:O choices). So the answer is he could be notably different because he has parts of Mythal in him now. Or, that might not have been what we witnessed, and he's (somewhat) similar to before.
We won't really know until DLC (I hope this q. is answered though).
Perhaps our Inquisitor will be like Ameridan, with some differences. The Inquisitor will be in magical stasis, trapped in one of the Eluvians. The Inquisitor's lover will die, just like Telanadas did.
& in Dragon Age 7, the main character will come into contact with our Inquisitor....
To be honest, this'd be one of the better outcomes.

I'm hoping the same thing. It's almost as if they want us to infer by ourselves that our lavellan romances changed his character for the better, without actually showing it. I mean it would be a huge deal to make a specific solas ending and diverging storyline just for solasmancer lavellans.
I think it's true we made his personality diverge a bit towards the "good white wolf" side, but I also thing that he will do what he believes is right no matter what the cost to his happiness.

Viviane was the divine. Than inquisitor is pro chantry and probably not very Solas friendly
Not necessarily. My romanced Lavellan(Solas) was bff's with Vivienne and I just decided not to finish her war table mission and promote her. It really depends on your dialogue options with all three and the war table. And my Solas approval was through the roof without even trying.

The one thing that still worries me is Laidlaw's coy answer about the DLC name- that it has an obvious surface meaning in the Inquisition 'trespassing' in the realms of the ancient elvhen via eluvian, but also has "some other meanings to it as well, but I will leave those for people to mull over and uncover on their own."
My hunch is that it references Solas in the archaic, literary sense of one who has "fallen from grace", "sinned", or "committed an offense" against a greater power. I've seen threads mulling over the potential parallels between Solas and Prometheus, stealing "fire" from the Gods and granting it to mortals in the form of free will and self-determination. As a whole (particularly if he does end up being early Dumat, granter of magic to humanity) it seems like a possible fit.
...though I can't say that bodes well in terms of DA4's antagonist. ![]()

Time to mention the "sinner" from the Ancient Elven Writing codex and the theory that this was Solas which I hold near and dear to my heart.

I'm also wondering if this will have any relevance:
If Solas is in the group, the inscription reads:
Faintly carved into the stone is a figure bound in chains. Two other figures have turned their gaze from the central image. The script below the image is ancient, though Solas is able to provide a partial translation:
Pride in our accomplishments and in our hearts. That same pride became (a word meaning corrupted or altered) within him, he sought to claim (indecipherable), cast from favor and so he was bound.
Hidden from mortal eyes, death lies within.
Whether or not you got to the center of Solasan is a Keep choice, but it might be one of those red herring things.

LOL, I'm totally not the right person to talk to when it comes to extensive lore-mongering.
http://dragonage.wik...t_Elven_Writing
Basically, Solas used to be one of the People, a common slave to Dirthamen, who dared to rise and take a form reserved for the Gods. He gathered an army of rebels and started a guerrilla war against the Creators. Ghilan'nain supported his ascent initially, but then turned his back on him, hence his many references to being betrayed in the past. To save his rebellion, he did something really desperate that backfired horribly.
So, not a very elaborate theory with little support, but I just like it story-wise.

I'm gping to live in my bubble of denial and say that even though Solas story will wrap up without Lavellan (maybe), he can still end up with her and she'll just be offscreen. Maybe she becomes a Goddess and takes it easy in the fade or whatever.
Just sayin.
I'm fantasizing this as well. After all, if the HoF can just take off and look for a cure for the Calling, then perhaps it's not completely outside the realms of possibility for a Lavellan Inquisitor to be somewhere else in DA4... possibly helping Solas somehow?

I could see that, especially since he wanted to remove Lady Lavellan's "slave markings"
