Yeah...That's how I see that playing out haha. 

I am trying so hard to read all the like 20+ pages of this thread since I went back to bed after the twitch stream, since I had like 3-4 hours of sleep. I ended up asleep for like, the whole day and won't be finishing off my Jumper now because I have an assignment due tomorrow lol. I'll have to finish it tomorrow after uni.

Yes, I usually feel uncomfortable with smut, especially when it just escalates like that, so this was like..  kept switching tabs because of that.

And at one point I just couldn't imagine my Lavellan there anymore XD

I did some degree of skimming and skipping because the tone was just off from previous chapters and it went frantically into smut territory so fast it took me out of it.

 

I know some people will love it but it felt like a different story all of a sudden.

I was so excited when I saw the announcement and watched the trailer - I feel like I haven't been this excited in years! That was four hours ago and I'm still going "squeeeeeee!" like a teenager.

 

With 10 days to go, I'm going to try to finish the second part of Earth Mind before the DLC comes out, about a chapter per day. I'm polishing chapter 9 right now and have written much of Chapter 10, so it feels possible.

It also makes me uncomfortable because I know it will end badly (the author said), so....

Finally caught up! My thoughts...   8th September can't come quickly enough for one. HYPED

 

I really hope that the encounter with Solas is not a kind of repeat of the 'in another world' chat from the main game.  Its not a continuation of the romance that bothers me so much (although to have it continued on some level, even just a promise would be nice).  It is being potentially shut out from being a part of what Solas is trying to achieve that concerns me most (I know that we don't know his goals, but I can't help but imagine that they are something that two of my Lavellan's would get behind - he's a good guy, his goals are not going to be evil right?...RIGHT??!)  So if they just get left behind again without a super good reason that could feel a bit empty.

 

Ideal scenarios for me

 

Lavellan gets to go with Solas and be part of whatever is going on.

Solas leaves, but promises to try and return some day.

Solas enables Lavellan to go into uthenera to escape her present life (too famous, too much inquisition crap) on a promise to wake her 'in another world'

Lavellan dies, tears all round - VERY VERY VERY OPTIONAL!

 

First question she asks...

I actually like the death option second best (joining solas being the first) as long as solas gets to die with us. It feels right to me in a really wrong way. They've both been through so much, and death seems to be a ... suitable rest. Their souls being together eternally in the fade would be nice, too. 

 

But in terms of joining solas, I actually think that option to have been possibly, if unlikely, included in the dlc. It's a respectable and probable end to the Inquisitor's main story and would leave great story potential for the writers to expand on in later games without it being specific enough to be too much work.

Did anyone see the tweet from Darrah saying they haven't been greenlit for another Dragon Age game at this point?
I can't imagine it won't happen because DAI has done well. But with even the smallest doubt for its future, I hope this DLC ties up some loose ends. Like where Hawke/warden goes and even just the tiniest bit of info about the HoF.

I also really hope that your companions haven't been hanging around Skyhold for the past two years. I'm pretty sure I told them all to sod off xD
I would love for them to have gone but will show up at points throughout to help you out or defend you in that trial looking thing.

Another thing that was whizzing round my brain as I was trying to sleep, was who is going to be angry at you. Will your divine be divine at that point? Will a King Alistair be on an opposing side? Will all that bloody hassle at the winter palace be for naught!?

Can I just sleep for two weeks so I don't have to wait!?

Please no Inquistor dies option. Damn you Tenth doctor reference. No sad face Solas, and I won't cope with a mourning Dorian.

I'm also going to make no jokes or predictions about Solas. I remember last year. I remember my lols about 'villain Solas' and this thread becoming a recovery ward for broken hearts. Well done self. You weren't loling after the game came out.

I need to catch up with the stream. Wardrobe? New game plus!? I cannot believe they are getting that NG+ xD after so much moaning. What will they moan about now!? I might take advantage of it later down the line so I can replay Tristan Lavellan with all his little niggles fixed and all buff and ready for action.

Also, here is the hug circle for any EU PS4 owners. In my excitement I forgot that we don't get updates till Wednesdays. You better believe I will start checking from midnight, but I doubt it'll show until a more reasonable hour on the 9th ;(

The option to want to join him, help him in whatever cause he has. The option to turn your back on him. I would like a variety of options for all of the various feelings your quizzy can have for Solas. If they can do that, I'll be happy.,

Also, I have been repeat listening to Madness by Muse since I saw the trailer...Really reminds me of it/my feelings toward Solas lol. Probably could also work as Solas' feelings toward the Inquisitor also. It's a pretty great song.

I guess it will be like, we wont meet solas until the very end of the dlc. And when we meet him, he will give a 5 min speech explaining ,with just a few lines within indicating the romance he had with the inquisitor. We might get a kiss scene or some sort of thing, but never ever will there be a happily stay together forever ending.

And I honestly don't think the romance can do any redemption or change his character.

The worse thing is, since the interview said they are adding companion content, I imagine the other romance might get one or two satisfying cutscene/dialogue in the dlc, in comparison to solas heartbreaking one.

If solas romance has to be a tragedy, I hope they at least don't lock us in solas romance after....you know, the temple of mythal, so the inquisitor can "move on" to another romance. Well, we can do that in da2 after fenris one, right?

Had a dream that Solas wanted Lavellan for some bloodletting ritual but I think it's because I read last flight before bed.

I also had a thought maybe Solas has found a way to remove the mark. Maybe at the end you can willingly give him your power to help him in whatever way since it seems like the inquisition is done anyway.

These arent coherent thoughts, sorry to use the thread as a weird dream journal. Going back to bed.

Death together in a blaze of glory could have been good, but from what Mike Laidlaw said, that's not going to happen as Solas is an important figure in the Dragon Age story going forward.  In my heart of hearts I kind of think going with Solas may be closed to us, which would be a shame as I can't imagine what circumstances staying with the inquisition (or returning to 'normal life') would make sense to my Lavellan.  Surely any dalish would put connecting with their lost past ahead of maintaining/appeasing a largely human centric status quo in Fereldan and Orlais?

I suppose she could try and mobilize and inform the dalish and city elves, but I don't see why they would listen to her kindly with her clan dead, a bare face and her contact being a pariah.

I think that is a possibility too, he must have much more knowledge that Cory did and now he has more power I think he maybe can do something.  But it could also be a bit crappy, comes back, steals her power then **cks off again  leaving her bare faced and ordinary .

 

I really want the opportunity for my quizzy to disappear (with him) ... all the other heroes get to do a bunk, let me make her disappear!  I actually think all quizzys who are friends with him should be able to go and help Solas, he needs friends.  

 

Failing that maybe there can be an opportunity for her to go and become a drunk like Alistair. She'll just sit in the tavern all day long drinking mead and listening to Maryden.  By the evening she'll be singing loudly of her glory days... or maybe  become riled and aggressive and shouty and start a bar brawl for kicks.

Still trying to think about what cougar!Lavellan's reaction would be to learning the news. She very, very stubbornly believed Solas to be a youngster.

And perhaps more importantly, she has strange personal goals when it comes to gods. She worships them like normal, but... well... this is an inquisitor that went on a mad rush to solo all the dragons because she wanted to give them elegant deaths. She likely has a shrine somewhere with teeth and other momentos from the stuff she's killed.

I suppose what I'm saying is killing a god would give her more of a rush than killing a dragon. Nothing to do with Fen'Harel specifically, she'd have tried Mythal if she got an opening.

Soooooo. Yeah. All of that is going to make meeting her ex-vhenan preeeeetty awkward. Unlike a lot of Lavellans, she doesn't even realize that Solas is old. Hopefully her confusion/denial over that will keep her from trying anything.

Because I know she'd be pasted if she tried.
