I think that is a possibility too, he must have much more knowledge that Cory did and now he has more power I think he maybe can do something.  But it could also be a bit crappy, comes back, steals her power then **cks off again  leaving her bare faced and ordinary :P.

But wouldn't that be exactly what he wanted for "someone he once cared for" (referring to the Cole dialogue with "I wouldn't wish this fate on my enemy, much less....")? I can really see it happening, although I doubt that the Quizzy could survive the removal

*Tentatively walks back into the room and stands in the corner.* Um... hi again, everyone. I know I haven't been here since the... ugh... philosophical argument that happened, but I just couldn't stay away after the DLC announcement... and I missed my old friends from the Thane thread.

Art break! Lots of Trespasser DLC fanart. :P Most of them are the "I suspect you have questions" scene.

Lots of comics of how the Inquisitors will react to Solas' "I suspect you have questions" scene under the tag.

Spoiler

Some portraits of Solas' over-the-shoulder look from the Trespasser DLC.

Spoiler

And now time for non-Trespasser DLC art.

Page 4 of the Pulchra Tenebris comic. [Page 1, Page 2, Page 3]

Gorgeous artwork of Solas and Lavellan.

One Last Time. (Solavellan) :(

Solas healing Lavellan.

Lovely artwork of Solas. Tumblr version of the art NightSymphony shared earlier.

Solas in ancient elvhen armor.

Nice Solas WIP.

Solas sketch. I love his expression! <3

Perfect response.

"I...Excuse me?"

"You heard me. How dare you? You removed my vallaslin, kissed me, broke up with me and then disappeared for two years when Corypheus was defeated after you promised to explain ****. I am like, 500% done with you right now Solas. 500%. And I got the whole of Thedas mad at me, Qunari trying to murder me and my damn hand has gone Evil Dead on me."

"...I...I'm sorry?"

"Damn right you're sorry you stupid bald bastard." (Lavellan then forcefully kisses him)

Yeah...That's how I see that playing out haha.

I am trying so hard to read all the like 20+ pages of this thread since I went back to bed after the twitch stream, since I had like 3-4 hours of sleep. I ended up asleep for like, the whole day and won't be finishing off my Jumper now because I have an assignment due tomorrow lol. I'll have to finish it tomorrow after uni.

I can't like this. All out.

But this. This.

Yeah, but that shouldn't be his choice to make, it is kind of patronizing.  Obviously there is something massive going on behind the scenes and for him to keep that from his ex or his friend is pretty frustrating in the first place, but understandable given the circumstances.   To have that happen again... please no!  My Lavellan doesn't really give a **** what Solas wants :P .  She wants to know what's going on, and will not be happy to go back to living a normal life just because it is what he wants for her.

Death together in a blaze of glory could have been good, but from what Mike Laidlaw said, that's not going to happen as Solas is an important figure in the Dragon Age story going forward.  In my heart of hearts I kind of think going with Solas may be closed to us, which would be a shame as I can't imagine what circumstances staying with the inquisition (or returning to 'normal life') would make sense to my Lavellan.  Surely any dalish would put connecting with their lost past ahead of maintaining/appeasing a largely human centric status quo in Fereldan and Orlais?

I suppose she could try and mobilize and inform the dalish and city elves, but I don't see why they would listen to her kindly with her clan dead, a bare face and her contact being a pariah.

I don't see why Solas being an important character in the future would close off disappearing with him, Morrigan's story wasn't over, she was an important character in the future.. I think she still IS an important character for the future, I don't think her story is done yet, but that didn't stop the Warden from disappearing with her.

I agree with Ajna, though it may just be my own delusional hopes springing forth. It would be an excellent way to bring the Inquisitor character forward into future games, even if the Inquisition itself is done. However from a story-telling standpoint, I don't think it would happen, or that the Inquisitor will come back if they do go off with Solas. The Warden hasn't been seen yet, even though they are still in the world.

Why must I be out of likes??!!?! /like

I really do hope they were able to work in some sort 'happy' ending for Solas and Lavellan. "happy' being a very broad and loose term.....but just something where they had some sort of continued relationship or closure of some sort. One of my favorite things in Inquisition was talking to a romanced Warden Alistair. The way he talked about the HoF was just so mushy wonderful.

I'm not saying Solas would speak in a future game in a mushy Alistair kind of way, but it would be great if he did speak about Lavellan in his own way in future games.

Ugh, yesterday I was all hyped up, and today I woke up straight into Solavellan hell spiral......because in about a week and a half we're going to all get this sort of answered for us. And it could be absolutely devastating.

Oh, and it truly dawned on me that my Lavellan would not only be tired of all the Thedas drama.....she hasn't been laid in a little over two years. It's like cruel and unusual punishment that BW did by locking Lavellans into a non existent relationship. For two years. /sigh

And after all this time there is the real possibility that she sees Solas for 5 minutes before he's all "Later yo" and walks into an eluvian.

They should let us walk in too. They really should.

It's late and I was scrolling through my Tumblr feed (which of course is flooded with DLC stuff), and uh... that over the shoulder still of Solas kept popping up. I couldn't help myself.

Holycrap, I hadn't thought about it that way, that you've been locked into your romance for two years. I figured in-game, it would give us the option of having moved on so I wouldn't feel as pathetic as I currently feel. But it can't.

Boy, pleeeease let there be some closure. Ideally more than WH's five minute finale. <_<

The problem is if the Inquisitor *doesn't* die or go off with Solas then they're still wandering around the world.  And if at the end the Inquisitor still has the mark then they're wandering around the world with this amazing power.  And a lot of people still consider the Inquisitor to be the Herald of Andraste - unless in the intervening years there was a massive PR campaign to debunk that belief.  If BioWare really wants to take the Inquisitor out of play then the Inquisitor needs to be neutralized permanently.  The part of the problem with the Warden and Hawke was that the Warden didn't always die and so "mysteriously disappeared" and Hawke also disappeared (to reappear later and now might or might not be dead).

I don't trust the trailer's teasing. The matter of Solas' godhood is too much of a big deal for it to be casually addressed in some DLC.

Whatever is in store for him and Flemeth will only unfold in the next games.

There is, however, hope for the romance. This might be a Witch Hunt kind of reunion.

Just to add fuel to the flames of speculation ... did they say that the Inquisitor's story was over?  Or the Inquisition's story was over?  If the former and the Inquisition is disbanded then our character is no longer the Inquisitor.  That doesn't mean they can't come back in future games as a protagonist, they just won't be the Inquisitor anymore.

Note:  I don't think this will really happen.  BioWare seems set on having new protagonists for each game.  Just thought I"d throw that out there.

No matter how much people think the Inquisition should be disbanded, the trailer clearly shows it will live on.

The Inquisitor won't be the protagonist again, but I'm sure the next hero could always use the help from a resourceful organization.

You're right,  I don't see why it should do that  either,  I'm just bracing myself for that possibility.  My inquisitor joining up with Solas is my ideal ending by a mile.  I guess I'm worried that because they did that with Morrigan, they maybe don't want to do the same thing again... but they really really really should ... please? :crying:

MayriyaNoori (can't quote atm): I know I saw Solas' sphere on the other all of that second picture.

Perhaps they are followers of Fen'harel? Is that his vallaslin (if he once had one)?

Seems like a water theme too.

What plot has been dragged since the first game? It has barely began.

This is also a rather strange thing to say in a thread dedicated to Solas. This is a place for people who do want to see him again.

Whole elven gods (even if in dao it wasn't revealed)  thing, that started on flemeth and was drawn through 3 games and not only games and still goes on dragging old characters like morrigan back.

Personally, I think it would be kind of weird to have a happily-ever-after between the inquisitor and Solas. The power dynamic alone is super weird, not to mention the lifespan issue or the fact that he's got Important Business in future games. It would be challenging to portray an ongoing relationship in a way that didn't turn Lavellan into arm candy.

But all this talk of Morrigan is reminding me that Morriganmancers are now technically with an elven god, since Mythal intended to pass "the essence of her godhood" to Morrigan (whatever that means). So maybe I'm overselling the weirdness to myself.

You don't seem to have a problem with a certain witch's plotline being dragged on since the first game.

And it still isn't finished.

Well, one interesting thing I notice is the two elves to the right seem to have June's vallaslin on them. The far left one is difficult to see.

And on a note of June.....there looks like a puzzle box in front of the Fen'Harel statue.

And this is from the Wiki on June

Little is known of June, and he remains mysterious even by the standards of the elven pantheon. In keeping with his inscrutable nature, Dalish elves train their minds with an insoluble wooden puzzle carving they call "June's knot."[6]

I don't think Solas is also June....but maybe we're going to visit June's temple? *squee*
