I'm bracing myself for if ever that turns out to be true. (I hope not.)  :?

I really hope it isn't.  Particularly since I'm in the 'Felassan wasn't working for Fen'Harel, he was working for one of the other gods (probably Falon'Din because he is a jerk)' camp.

So.....I may or may not have taken some screenshots from the trailer...cropped...and then turned up the brightness to take a look at some fascinating wall art.

Spoiler

Thoughts?

Swear to goodness that second one reminds me of "three wolf moon." :pinched:

Can I just say that all these DA and Solas tumblrs has possibly finally convinced me to use tumblr? I have never really used it much because I found it a tad confusing lol. I like, very very rarely post on it at all...But now I am using it. The same as I recently started to use twitter which I never really bothered with because I literally want to tweet at Patrick Weekes and Mike Laidlaw about the lack of Solas DLC (and like, literally a week or two later I started seeing rumours they were going to announce it at PAX).

Solas is making me use more social media. This is the opposite of what I should be doing, I should be running through a forest somewhere.

Though I suppose I should be thankful that it's now less than 10 days. So close yet so far!

Personally, I think it would be kind of weird to have a happily-ever-after between the inquisitor and Solas. The power dynamic alone is super weird, not to mention the lifespan issue or the fact that he's got Important Business in future games. It would be challenging to portray an ongoing relationship in a way that didn't turn Lavellan into arm candy.

But all this talk of Morrigan is reminding me that Morriganmancers are now technically with an elven god, since Mythal intended to pass "the essence of her godhood" to Morrigan (whatever that means). So maybe I'm overselling the weirdness to myself.

I don't see it as weird; after all, Lavellan would usually be invested in whatever Important Business Solas will have, should she choose to, of course. And she has the Anchor - she would never be mere arm candy.

And as for the power dynamic, I dunno, it's uncommon, of course, but not unprecedented. In fact, if you were to believe the Chant, isn't the Maker and Andraste a good precedent? In any case, we don't really know the relationship the elven gods had with their people; haven't some postulated that they were in fact extremely powerful ancient elven nobles instead of actual gods?

But that means I only have 10 days to get my Lavellan from Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts to the endgame AND beat the first two DLC.  And I have to beat the frigging Nightmare with Varric, Cole, Solas and a mage!Lavellan because I care more about RP value than who is best for the quest.

Yes.

Bummer..I guess I'll be starting over.  Thank you.

You are welcome. I just noticed that  in that article http://www.dragonage...s/save-importerit also says that "At this time, savegame exports and imports to or from PC are not supported." So it might be that in the future it will be possible to import to PC as well or not. Hard to say.

Finally had to start skipping pages, cuz - So very far behind! :pinched:

...also ran out of likes. Of course.
yes-of-course-o.gif

Firstly, LIKES! to all. Secondly, I have questions. Aaaand there is a very good possibility that they have been covered, in the pages I umm - skipped. Upfront apologies if I am bringing things up, already discussed. (and feel free to ignore.)

I may be a bit "high" on the Team Optimism fumes, but I can't help but wonder if the Solas bit of the trailer is out of context and time placement. Meaning, what if that isn't some kind of end scene, a la Witch Hunt, but instead a scene that happens earlier in the DLC? Yes, yes...I am a greedy Solas fan, and am grasping at straws in the hope of having him as an actual companion again, but-but....why not?? If our mark is causing us trouble, than we may need more than a few minutes of his time. Then it would make some sense that he comes in to play much earlier in the DLC, and is once again a potential party member. If he does have more than a five minute cameo the way Morrigan did in Witch Hunt, then I could see BW not wanting to reveal that. Keep that aspect spoiler free. Maybe? I'm high, aren't I...

(btw, the above isn't based solely on the romance arc, but also Solas' presence, the mark, and his general role in DAI. Though I still hope for sumtin' gud with the LI story.)
grease_frenchie.gif

Okay. I just erased my other question, because this isn't really the thread for it, and probably won't get answered in this DLC (or possibly ever). Apparently I am a lying liar. Only one question asked, instead of multiple. Gosh Solas, we have so much in common. *dreamy sigh*

Yeah, same here, just came back from the fade. On this PT I'm really trying to get everything just the way I want it, and I don't want to meet Solas again with a previous version of Sophia Lavellan or with another character.

So much pressure!

Lol, first world problems indeed, midnight tea :D

So because of the DLC hype I'm seeing a lot going around on Tumblr about how Solas is really Felassan and does anyone else find the thought of Fen'Harel piloting the rotting body of Best Elf to be really really frigging creepy?

Just me?

Please say it's not just me.

Nup. Not just you.

I had a hard enough time, right after the early reveal of his "Godhood". Not sure I could get past corpsefied Felassan+Fen'Harel, as my Lavellans' BF.

Yeah,  I can't see why the power dynamic should be such a big issue,  it is not like Lavellan is powerless.  I've never made the choice to fight  Abelas, but if the inquisition can defeat ancient elves then their power is not so great (aside from their immortality).

I realise that Solas is more than that, but I will continue believing that he is just a very powerful Elvhen mage until it is revealed otherwise.  I honestly think that makes for a more interesting story and I don't have a problem with Lavellan being less powerful than him,  being the strongest and best can get a bit old so it could be a refreshing change.

While I'm sure we're not going to get a run off and live happily every after ending,  a run off to face adversity together is not unreasonable imo.  I just hope the writers saw it that way too.

@coldwetn0se  - that had crossed my mind and may be the case,  that hope was slightly dampened by the game informer(i think) article that indicated that his appearance might be in a different capacity than the others...

'If you’ve seen the ending, you know Solas is a special circumstance. I’m not going to promise that he rejoins the party and things are great, but he will make an appearance. I know people are excited about that. Solas remains an exceedingly complicated and enmeshed character in the world. In the course of the DLC, we’re not going to wrap up his storyline – that’s just way too complicated. But we can add a lot of texture and information to it, so it isn’t just this one note of confusion. Instead, it’s an opportunity to learn more about his situation in a way that we may be able to explore in future games. If there are future games.'

Ugh, same! I have one other Lavellan (so two in total) but all of my other save files went poof! The save file that I do still have of my favourite Lavellan sits at the beginning of the game, shortly before the fall of Haven. So I'm really debating if I should go ahead and finish this playthrough (on hard) or re-create her or play someone different on nightmare.  -_-

I think in the whole 'decide your legacy' bit that was said in the trailer and in the Game Informer interview, you will decide what happens to the Inquisition, whatever that means.

Well, in Inquisition he also grows more confident and sort of upright and over time. Even when he's dorky hobo in the beginning, soon enough, we have this:

iy7nrC8.gif

It's hard to judge from a trailer moment.

But at least we'll get this soon.

I shall always be bothered by the fact that that grass grows in the snow.

I guess it really depends what people think of as "power".

Even Patrick Weekes in one of interviews has named Mother Giselle "one of the most powerful people in the story", even without her having any special position or magical power. She still has her power of convictions and her way of swaying or influencing other people at appropriate moments. Even Inquisitor gives her significant credit in being one who ensures that the role of Inquisitor is given to Herald after Haven.

I agree with Ajna, though it may just be my own delusional hopes springing forth. It would be an excellent way to bring the Inquisitor character forward into future games, even if the Inquisition itself is done. However from a story-telling standpoint, I don't think it would happen, or that the Inquisitor will come back if they do go off with Solas. The Warden hasn't been seen yet, even though they are still in the world.

I think the Inquisitor should still be important - she is a powerful mage/warrior/rogue and she has the Anchor after all, she can be useful to whatever Solas intends to do.

Why must I be out of likes??!!?! /like

I really do hope they were able to work in some sort 'happy' ending for Solas and Lavellan. "happy' being a very broad and loose term.....but just something where they had some sort of continued relationship or closure of some sort. One of my favorite things in Inquisition was talking to a romanced Warden Alistair. The way he talked about the HoF was just so mushy wonderful.

I'm not saying Solas would speak in a future game in a mushy Alistair kind of way, but it would be great if he did speak about Lavellan in his own way in future games.

Ugh, yesterday I was all hyped up, and today I woke up straight into Solavellan hell spiral......because in about a week and a half we're going to all get this sort of answered for us. And it could be absolutely devastating.

Oh, and it truly dawned on me that my Lavellan would not only be tired of all the Thedas drama.....she hasn't been laid in a little over two years. It's like cruel and unusual punishment that BW did by locking Lavellans into a non existent relationship. For two years. /sigh

And after all this time there is the real possibility that she sees Solas for 5 minutes before he's all "Later yo" and walks into an eluvian.

They should let us walk in too. They really should.

I want a continued relationship too! If they could it for the HoF and Alistair, they can do it for Solas and the Inquisitor, can't they? I hope we get more than 5 minutes of Solas....

I could barely sleep last night, all my random dreams were punctuated by "I suspect you have questions?".

I have a post game Trevelyan who is only like level 23, I haven't even done the dlc with her yet, she's romanced Cullen, but I'm just not...I don't know. I'm. Not attached to her like I am my Lavellan. She's post game now too, level 27. The only thing I forgot to do was Lelianas quest so I'm not sure if I should go back and redo that or not.

Just watched the trailer, looks good, they definitely left the best for last. If I'm only allowed to ask Solas the same amount of questions as I'm allowed to ask Valta I'll be mad.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I'm hoping the Inquisition will fall in this dlc, trailer gives me hope.  ^_^
