This severely undersells the whole "banging a god" thing. If I found out I'd unintentionally swapped spit with a deity, I'd be pretty happy with my life choices. A relationship would just be a bonus at that point.

Yeah......this is not even levels of Witch Hunt.

I'm not getting my hopes up though but I am definitely intrigued how the hell this last DLC will wrap up.

Off current topic because this forum is moving like lightning right now, and I am up to my eyeballs in correcting and lesson planning but I am taking a short break for sanity's sake:

 

I can't even begin to process all the feel that this trailer has called up. It looks epic. Between my job and home life, I am going to be hard pressed to find time to finish my game (one of the bad things about my obsession with modding is that I tend to complete restart games from the beginning and now my game has a wired bug where it does not like to let me start a new game- I end up stuck in the fade after character creation)

 

I know this has been discussed, but I am throwing in my two cents: Solas does sound different to me, almost like it is a new voice actor, but after watching it a few times what I think is that Solas' intonation during most of Inquisition is Fen'Harel intimating the speech patterns of modern elves who all have this welsh-like accent. While what we hear at the end of the Trespasser DLC trailer is how Fen'Harel actually speaks. I have gone back and froth between my game and the trailer more than a few time now and that's what I get. The trailer voice lacks the breathy quality of the welsh accent that Solas had during the main game, as well as being deeper and more commanding.

 

After reading the tweet about walking away completely intrigued, but maybe not completely satisfied with the Solas romance option/references in the DLC I really just want to throw something at Bioware. Intrigued, you say Bioware? My character romanced him, I was already intrigued, now I just want some answers and a satisfying ending to the romance that is less heart-wrenching than in the main game. Bittersweet? I'm down with that. Gut wrenching and heartbreaking, please, please only if it is so epicly written that I am smiling on the inside while the tears roll.

 

Grabs a team optimism flag, showers self with hope infused glitter, and bunkers down in a corner of the blanket fort with an industrial sized jar of Nutella, just in case...

Hmm. Part of why I wonder if our Solas meeting happens a bit earlier than the end is this. He stabilized it before. It makes sense to seek him out for multiple reasons, including the Anchor. I'm sure this trouble develops a bit over time but maybe hope for midpoint?

See, that really depends. Solas was Solas when my Lavellan swapped spit with him, and after everything she's seen and learned and been through, Solas being Fen'Harel would probably be a "Well, of course he is" kind of totally not surprised moment to her. Complete with eyeroll.

 

She didn't fall in love with "a god." She didn't bang a deity. He may be one, or not one at all, but she cared for the person Solas was, not the story behind him. Even if her first thought is I f'ing did what with whom, it's the emotion that matters.

 

So I really hope that any romance-related content with him respects that if we so choose it, and isn't just a cold shoulder go away kind of thing.

I've always had an inkling that the Mark may yet 'mutate' or affect Inquisitor in some way after Cory's defeated - I have my suspicions what it MAY mean, but so far these are nothing more than far-fetched speculations.

This. I'm putting a lot of hope in the writers right now and hope that they'll treat the Solas romance fairly, and I know they would providing the time and/or resources are there. I just hope they are there.

I've always been on team optimism hoping for at least one happy ending option. After reading that tweet though it doesn't seem like that's an option now. I don't know how to feel right now. So many feels

I am pretty fine with intrigued, to be honest! Intrigued suggests that there's still a lot of mystery, but it probably isn't going to end badly. Or even that tragically. Intrigued is the sort of word you use where there's more you'd like to learn, but you aren't necessarily writhing around for answers either. Perhaps the Inquisitor goes off with him ala Morrigan, or they agree to meet again. Or things are just set at an amicable understanding.

 

Either way! Liking what I am hearing so far.

I just hope "utterly intrigued" isn't going to be the new "Lots of speculation for everyone!" Because I'll find that wrapup about as satisfying and acceptable as I did the first time I saw those words.
