So I'm thinking the Mark plotline might directly involve Solas, since it's linked to his orb? I'm hoping, anyways, as the prospect of him saving the Quizzie's life appeals to my internal angst-quota. Perhaps we'll get the opportunity to choose to remove it and lose all of our Rift-y abilities, or we can keep it and retain our powers - but with the understanding that it will eventually kill us? I dunno, it's a thought. I have a sneaking suspicion that Solas is once again behind all of the shenanigans going on with the Eluvians, the Qunari, and the Mark...
I have two post-ending Lavellan's who will be taking very different approaches to Solas dependent upon the options given.
Ashe just tweeted:
"Goal is to make sure you had at least one big interaction with each major character (i.e. advisors, companions)."
I'm guessing this is going to involve a lot of heavy emotion and hopefully hug options!
Not even including Solas, but just having a moment to say goodbye to your companions is going to kill me. I hate farewells or any kind thereof. The Citadel DLC was such a bittersweet thing that I can see it happening here. :C
hype intensifies
I like how you're keeping this thread's title on point.
I am pretty fine with intrigued, to be honest! Intrigued suggests that there's still a lot of mystery, but it probably isn't going to end badly. Or even that tragically. Intrigued is the sort of word you use where there's more you'd like to learn, but you aren't necessarily writhing around for answers either. Perhaps the Inquisitor goes off with him ala Morrigan, or they agree to meet again. Or things are just set at an amicable understanding.
Either way! Liking what I am hearing so far.
The cynical side of me says all "intrigued" means is they're going to disappoint you with shrouded mystery and little else, but I'm fighting it!
But, holy hell, Mims! If a promise to meet again is a choice we get I will happily take it, and feel fully satisfied. That option leaves it to me to work out what happens in the end, and I can make it as sweet or as awful as I'd like. It reminds me of Red ending on ME3, where your romance doesn't put your name on the board and instead smiles. Of course I'd love a real reunion, but a hint that one will happen even if I have to think of it myself is something I can be happy with.

Yeah they said they are aware we wanted more follower interaction in Descent and decided to make this Citadel-like so depending on approval and choices made in the main game, we will have a different interaction with each companion.
OK, off to do sciency stuff. Stay strong, team!
Yeah, I just... can't think about all this anymore. SOMEONE INVENT A TIME MACHINE!
*off to find stuff to occupy herself with*
No waeeee stop. I'm trying to stay positive people.
We do this to each other all the time, it cracks me up.
We live in such a Solamancer rollercoaster. I am stressed.
Well shite... taken from Ashe's Twitter.
"On Solas romance in #DAITrespasser: "You may not walk away completely satisfied, but you will walk away utterly intrigued."

DON'T GIVE ME MORE QUESTIONS, BIOWARE.
Ugh, guys, the feels are definitely back.
My plans feel through today so I loaded up my Solasmancing Quizzy and got her to finish up JoH and whizz through the Descent (it's a lot faster the second time around). I found myself look at her and Solas standing side by side, shooting their magical lasers, and thinking how lovely they look together.
THE FEELS ARE ALL UP IN MY SPACE.
I still haven't caught up with the twitch stream but I did read somewhere, something about gathering your team which made it sound like I'll get what I want. Companion tracking. Hopefully they'll want to come back... I was nice! I think.
I've already been planning who I want to take with me and which Inquisitor will go first. You guys have done that as well, right? Riiiiiight?
pls.
Solas-related tweets posted by Hrungr in Twitter thread, other than the ones from Ashe [this user's name not given, also credit to hrungr for posting them up]:
Solas story too big to wrap up in a dlc
You will have a chance to ask Solas rather a lot of questions
Romance states after 2 years vary by character
Opportunity for disc for solasmancers, but closure ?able bc @PatrickWeekes but discussions that will emerge
Going into an elven space, places you maybe shouldn't be. Expect to learn a lot about the elves and eluvians
Solasmancers can expect an opportunity to confront but not necessarily closure
But @Mike_Laidlaw is very interested to see the discussions that come from it
Companion closure will vary. Some funny, some heartfelt, some very dependent on what choices were made
Oh good grief.
I can deal with not having the perfect romance end for Solas if my other romances don't also end terribly.
Basically what I'm saying here is; PLS DON'T ALSO TAKE DORIAN FROM ME.
What choices did I make!? Oh my days. What is going to happen to my team. I'm way more attached to my DAI companions than I have been to previous DA companions. I can take or leave everyone but Varric in DA2 and all but Alistair, Zev and Shale from DAO. But DAI? There is a lot of potential for my heart to be torn apart right there
But at least we'll get companion closure. Something we didn't get from the previous ones. I just headcannon that they all stay BFFs forever in that case. YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE. Hmph.

I am a big fan of open ending for this reason! So, I definitely won't mind if things are left to a bit of speculation and mystery. It is all about the tone of how things come to a conclusion.
Although I suppose I am not too hard to please. My worst case scenario was Solas going full villain mode and throwing out any of the subtle characterization out the door. That doesn't seem to be happening, so I'm pleased.

Personally, I think it is more like this
Yeah, I just... can't think about all this anymore. SOMEONE INVENT A TIME MACHINE!
*off to find stuff to occupy herself with*
While you're doing the time machine can you set it so I can get my old save back? I'm not even ready! My longest save is 20hrs into the Hinterlands! Hinterlands! I lost my old save when I forgot to backup while modding and ended up bugging my game out.
A week and a bit is not even long enough for me to finish the base game, nevermind the two DLCs. ;_; I can't wait, and I can wait. *STRANGLED NOIES*
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in months & months but I read the Solas thread regularly. You're still the best ![]()
But this "intrigued" business has reminded me of a random tweet from @PatrickWeekes back in Feb.
"Okay so Will Turner at the end of PotC: At World's End, all Davy Jones'd up, on land once every ten years: that isn't KILLING him, right?"
https://twitter.com/...819592815190016
Maybe we are about to find out it is Solavallen related?
edit: link didn't look like it was working so added the tweet text
Guys, can someone with good voice recognition confirm or deny that the lady qunari in the trailer is voiced by Gwendoline Christie? Please? Because I've been worried about the time it took to develop DLCs, the two big ones we've had so far felt like they where... not rushed, but could've done with more time.
If that qunari is Lady Brienne herself... then the DLC has likely been in production since long before the game was even released.
What if Solas somehow knew that the mark was eventually going to kill Lavellan, and that was a part of why he tried to keep his distance.

We're in the same boat! Let's just keep up being motivated and finish this game! For Solas!

She was never heard in the main game, so if that was her role, it would make sense. The quest to find Solas was cut from the main game, so this might have also been in the works for months. I still think the other DLC was like throwing candy to hungry children to calm them while they worked a year on this DLC, taking in all our suggestions and adding to it as they went.

Same. I thought they were gone, but boy what a fool I was D:

Wasn't she Florianne?

Wasn't she Florianne?
Is so, IMDb never credited her.
"On Solas romance in #DAITrespasser: "You may not walk away completely satisfied, but you will walk away utterly intrigued."
Hmm. That doesn't sound bad actually. No closure means that Inqusitor won't necessarily die and it is something. No closure means anything is possible, right? Maybe he will leave but promise to go back for Inquisitor? Or to meet with her in the Fade?
It is better than "You will get closure, buy you may not walk away completely saitsfied".
Or so I hope. Please tell me that makes sense and it's not a false hope.
God, I'm terrified, hearts are fragile things... and BioWare has some real power over our feelings. I hope they realize now that too much drama is not healthy for anyone.
