I'm really ready for whatever.  Even if there isn't "closure" as long as it's well written, I'll be happy.  Nothing cheap. Nothing for the sads or for the happies.  I want it to make sense.  I want there to be an ability to give a nice amount of responses to him ranging from "good to see you friend to eff off I hate you".  And maybe something a little extra for the romance. I just want it to be well-written and it make sense. That's all.  Frankly I don't think THAT's too much to ask for.

Between Morrigan, Anders and Solas it's pretty obvious you just can't have a happy ending with a mage!

I've reached my quota on likes, so have a heart instead. <3

I think that's the least we can expect from the writers at this point; they're a great bunch. Everything else I'm pining for is just extra trimmings. x)

I've heard the team all put a LOT of effort in to Trespasser, they each went above and beyond... and are proud on a personal level. I am optimistic we won't be disappointed... whatever happens and which ever options we take. -goes and makes a new playthrough in preparation- :D

Actually, that's what made me interested with this particular romance in the first place - it's interesting, but at the same time... I can't help to wonder HOW are they're going to wrap it up in satisfying and elegant way: I mean.. they've just let one of characters of specific background and gender romance a potential elvhen god AND a possible pivotal character in entire DA series, that itself is built around the story of the world itself, and not a particular character

Some MAY argue that it was similar with Morrigan... but as crucial Morrigan can be in the future, she largely has no idea what's going to happen next and so far doesn't seem to be involved as deeply into really old and mysterious things, unlike Solas.

The sheer balls to do this and the apparent confidence that they can somehow pull this off.... huh. I'm intrigued and now I just really want it to end on a high note! Whatever this high note may be, even if I'd prefer for my Lavellan to find some happiness for herself.

They did tweet that they added extra sauce (not exact-exact words) to the romances to make them stand out from the friend arcs.....so....fingers crossed and glued together that it includes Solas, yes?

In that scene where Solas is back, we can assume the inquisitor meets him alone? That alone makes me happy for some odd reason. Not that I hate the companions but I feel like it's a worthy solo moment.

Nah, hw basically said that there's a possibility that the ending could be happier or sadder, probably depending on playthrough :)

Bioware should make it so that in a future game, our protagonist can either lampshade or call out all the previous player characters for being utter jerks if you imported an evil worldstate where you made every "bad" decisions you could, especially if those actions made it harder to win.

I'd really hate to see what would happen if you upset Morrigan or Solas, given all that they know and can do.

Does it make a sadist that these are all my "canon" romances, for the most part?

Sigh. At least there was Alistair. Sweet, adorable, shy, gushy, husband Alistair. (Naturally, they separated you and Alistair in a few ways. But na na na until there's a Calling story followup for the HoF, I'm just going to imagine them being adorable together).

Anders was wearing a huge DON'T sign but of course I did. And then, oh let's be an elf for the first time in a full DA playthrough.

"No, I was declaring it..."

Say what now?

What? :D That's not TERRIBLE news ;) It means that we may end with our hearts only half-broken!

I know, I'm just preparing. If these are my feelings now, and I haven't played it yet.... :P

I'll be totally honest, that's what turned me onto the Solas romance in the first place. I thought he was an odd-looking git who liked the sound of his own voice to start with, then the flirt option came up and I thought he'd be a bit of a dork in response. But no, he was smooth. Goddamn that egg.

guys guys guys

I'm trying to play it cool like I'm not that excited/terrified for this DLC.

I'm totally failing.

aaaaiieeeee

We can't collectively lose our sh*t just yet! We have 10 more days to hellspiral and then think of the feels AFTER, no matter what the ending!

I propose a distraction:

What kind of outfit do you want your Inq to wear around Skyhold? Descriptions, pics, screenshots, give me anything!

I've always wanted something classy but boyish. A crisp, tight-fitting white shirt, suspenders, black breeches, and leather boots. That probably says more about me than it does about my inquisitor.

In reality, my Lavellen would probably want something elfy with flowers. psssh. booor-ring. <_<

Lol not really. I'm an elf romancer it seems. I wasn't even trying but I always end up with an elf. I had Zevran and Fenris and now Solas. Sadly the first 2 were human female mages and I can't get that perfect order with Solas, so I play an elf mage.

But with Morrigan and Anders you can get "happy ending". Hoping it will be same with Solas.

Ah you see that's why I have hope! It may not be a Disney ending, but you can find a happy compromise with those two!

I'm still confused by the number of functional eluvians in the trailer.

Just getting one to work is really hard.

But with Morrigan and Anders you can get "happy ending". Hoping it will be same with Solas.

The ending for Anders romance is rather ambiguous because no matter what you do Vengeance will still be there.

Morrigan's can end with a happy family if you choose the Dark Ritual AND enter the eluvian with her in Witch Hunt.

She even mentions that she looks forward to reuniting with the Warden after helping the Inquisition since "Kieran misses him greatly".

I know it's a bit off topic but since I'm playing my Dalish Mage to romance Solas... I figured I'd ask--- what specialization should I go for? I have only done Knight Enchanter and I love it, but I was thinking of going for rift Mage. Not because of Solas but because its different. What Specilizations are your favorites? Maybe by the time I get to it your opinions help as I'm terribly indecisive .

Memories of those early times help with the feels.

OK, I'm curious: How did Solas first catch your eye?

Funny thing is, it wasn't any of the romance-related content that got me interested in Solas in the first place. The romance itself was awesome once I got to it, but what caught my attention was the "Cause and effect. Wisdom as its own reward..." line and doing his personal mission for the first time with my Trev mage Inquisitor.

I remember it now... I thought he was just this fade weirdo and nothing more than a plot device to dispense lore on the fade and magic to new players. I had shelved his personal mission for a later time, but went to the Exalted Plains to meet the Dalish clan. Dorian was my main mage at the time, but I thought switching him out for Solas might help earn favor with the clan. (I didn't even know of his opinion of the Dalish back then.  ) Then while running errands for the clan, I went through Enavirus and accidentally triggered his personal mission.

And just like that... I wonder if I'd been better at reading the map back then, maybe I would've been a Cullenmancer who did one PT and moved on to other stuff to do in life.  :D

While KE is awesome, I highly enjoy Rift Mage, not just because of Stone Fist spam, Pull Of The Abyss + fire mine, as well as all the CC effects - but also because of mana return while damaging enemies, which means I can just spam abilities all day long :D

I can tell you how Solas caught my eye! I first played a female Mage that was human and romanced Cullen. Solas being older and wise (the kind of trait I like in men) I decided to talk to him and learn his views. Being a spirit fanatic myself I was fascinated by his stories and his lone wolf ways was a definite bonus. As the game progressed I realized my Trevelyan had more in common with Solas than Cullen and was disappointed he could not be romanced by a human. After I beat the game and ended all happy with Cullen I played a female Lavellan and tried Solas' romance. There was so much more to him than he allows any other race to see, and he was passionate and you could tell holding back and wanting to tell her everything. He was what I call a tortured soul and I've always liked those, so I romanced him right to the end and my fav part was the ending after the party. Her alone on the balcony with that expression on her face was like she was saying "we will meet again someday and I will get answers!"

Also is it just me or no matter your race, does Solas still seem to harbor some sort of interest that's a bit beyond friendship? I always got that vibe.

JoH DLC spoiler:

Spoiler

In my case, the DLC being set 2 years later, I hope we do get some hint of the Weisshaupt situation because I don't think leaving Anders alone in my Thedas for 2 years would be a good idea.

Weekes said once on Twitter (I think?) that Solas had no romantic interest in an Inquisitor that wasn't romancing him. So while the fascination and intrigue is there, it isn't likely to have been more.

That`s why "happy ending" not happy ending. With Morrigan it can be very happy, Anders maybe not so, but still..
