I expect Solas to be one of the two remaining LI's, especially after seeing him in that trailer.

Looks like he is gonna be rather important to the plot.

I just thought about how Solas has a good chance of being one of the remaining LIs and it made me happy.     I bet he would have a very interesting romance path. Though I wonder if he'd be as shy about it as I've seen others speculate.

 

I'm not sure I see him as shy at this point.  Maybe confused by the initial flirting?  Or really straightforward.

I agree with you but I don't know if he will be shy, maybe possibly. I just think that even though he is an Introvert he will speak his mind about the flirting and romance. We are going to have to wait and see, ugh wish I had a time machine....come on November.

I hope he's not super shy, because I plan on playing a shy Inquisitor (nearly impossible, I know). Although I figure the PC has to make all the moves now like I've seen devs say, to avoid "offending" people. Hopefully I can pull it off in a way that's not my Inquisitor making sexual overtures all over the place and throwing herself at the guy. Sigh.

I'm having horrible memories of female Shepard talking to Jacob in ME2.

 

Didn't they say romances happen a bit more naturally this time around? I hope so. Some awkward is expected while characters feel each other out, but with the NPCs being a bit older and more worldly it's hard to think of them as bumbling virgins. I'm ready for "normal" relationship progression, even if the relationship itself has a bit of drama to make it interesting to the masses.

Yeah, I like when characters fall in love with you anyway. Like Anders fell in love with my character Cormac even though he was straight and all like "NO!"

 

Anders was a little too obsessive for me, heheh. I thought the Alistair romance was handled pretty perfectly in the flirting regard though. You could initiate a flirt, respond to his flirt, or just talk about relations in general to get him to ask you what your type is. You could also (and this is my favorite) tell him you care about him after several different conversations (like when he is surprised you remembered his amulet). Leaves the whole "let's do it because I'm randy!" thing until later when it's more appropriate. Of course, with a romance like Iron Bull's, I would expect it to start with lust. But not with someone like Solas.

that is the actual worst s*** ever. the actual worst. like... why? how? how was that necessary? omfg ughhhhh. [cringes]

to this day Jacob is the only party member i don't give a crap about because i can't tolerate talking to him because the devs felt it f****** necessary to make attempting to have a conversation with him akin to laying yourself out like Rose in Titanic UGHhHhHhHh. [CRINGES]

 

sorry. i will never not be disturbed by those memories, ahah.

i know they said they'd not have the DA:I LIs make the first move, but omg, anything but that. [still cringing]

 

you know, for the record i kind of wish they would have some LIs initiate. i don't think the problem with Anders was that he made the first move but rather how... poorly... he responded if you weren't into it. i love Anders, i romance him every time, but in my first playthough i was like "whoa not so fast i don't even know everyone yet?" and his reaction creeped me right the hell out. sigh.

 

here's hoping Solas might be something like Kaidan or Alistair, wherein i can encourage them with all the right signals but still wait for them to come to me.

A little off-topic, but I liked the fact that in Dragon Age Origins even male wardens had the option to state whether they were a virgin, experienced or...ah....VERY experienced. A rare but nice touch and great for rp.

Guess I'll do the Inquisitor thingy too.  I won't really have a concrete idea of who they are until I figure out during gameplay, but I have some mental sketches I plan to work from.

The ocean.  Which can be many things, depending on the weather, etc...

That woodsy smell of trees and dirt.

Very likely.

Animals.  I imagine he has some experience taking care of kids, but he's more likely to be spending time with animals due to his personal interests.

 

What’s the Inquisitor’s favorite food?

Fish, shellfish, and peaches when he can get them.

 

Can they cook?

Yep. 

 

Do they have any hobbies?

Music, he enjoys singing.  He's also an artist with a preference for watercolors, and he incorporates it into his personal studies.  He keeps journals with notes and drawings of anything and everything that catches his interest.  Animals and buildings are some of his favorite subjects.  He has a typical Dalish interest in old elven history and culture, but non-elven people and things also tend to pop up in his journals...

 

Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical?

I'd say he's practical, but he's definitely got his own sense of style.    

 

Are they neat or unorganized?

Organized chaos...  He has a tendency towards clutter, but there's a method to his madness. 

 

Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any?

Solas, Cole, and Cassandra.  Early to say exactly how he'll interact with everyone.

 

Who will they romance, if anyone?

Solas, or Cassandra.

 

Do they have any scars? What are they from?

Probably?  I couldn't say yet. (Maybe he fell off an aravel when he was fifteen.    )

 

If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?

I imagine they'd all be cool with each other.  Who knows how they'll be if/when they appear, but my Warden would be on the serious side, and my Hawke...not serious, so my Quizzy would be sorta middle ground there.

 

What’s your Inquisitor’s opinion on each of the various races, if any?

Humans and society outside of the Dalish are fascinating to him, but he's distrustful of human authority.  Ideally he'd like for the Dalish to open themselves more to the rest of society, while maintaining their culture and independence.  He has some trouble reconciling his idealism with some of the harder realities he lives with. 

 

From what he knows of dwarves, I think he has some admiration for them.  The Qunari, I don't think he knows much about them.  Their appearance might frighten him until his curiosity gets the better of him.

Let's hope it really is more natural than starting the Garrus relationship.  The relationship is built on trust, respect, and friendship growing into something more and you initiate with "hey, wanna ****?"

Morning everyone! Been daydreaming of Solas like crazy to pass the time. Doing so caused me to get 3 hours of sleep at most, however. But no regrets...
It's so fun to think up of his personality in many different ways. Wonder how he reacts to a flirty Inquisitor. Perhaps since he's stoic and private he'll brush it off but secretly wait in anticipation for the next time that she does? I am also very confident that hellbe an LI thanks to GDL's tweets!
