Really? I saw it coming from miles away Their texts were becoming too goddamn intense for it to not... ehm, culminate in something. Can't say I wasn't surprised that it happened in THIS chapter, but eventually I figured this would happen at some point.

 

In any case, I don't mind it 'dragging', if it means a bit more politics, journalism or museum stuff or interactions with other characters - those parts I enjoy. Solas and Ellana obsessively thinking about themselves I can skip. I hope she also won't drag them not meeting in person for too long, it was an interesting hook for quite a while, but now it's getting a bit old.

No, for me the dragging is waaaaaaay too many near misses. It just drags it out. I want more of the politics and the cute things that the fic had a lot more of in the beginning. Yes, their texts were becoming more intense but it didn't 'fit' to me in being just unexpected smut chapter. That is another way to drag things out while still postponing the meeting....AGAIN.

If Alix Wilton Regan's trailer VA is any indication...it hasn't been a relaxing two years.  Some part of my Lavellan still cares about Solas, but she's Inquisitor.  She doesn't have the luxury of worrying about one person, no matter how important to her, for that long.  And at least initially, I think her wariness of Solas would override any lingering feelings.  At the very least, she knows better than to let him get away with his old cryptic bull****.  

 

Yep. "I suspect you have questions" is quite likely to be met with "...And you'd better have answers."

 

Surely she's worried and wondered over the passing time, but you don't lie down and cry yourself to sleep every night when life is going on around you.

So this Golden Nug thing... when they say schematics and collectibles, does that mean those stupid bottles and things like that too? It'd be too much to hope for the shards, and I think that's what's really holding me back from wanting to go through the whole thing again with a Lavellan. I just did crit-path and the side quests that made sense for my other Inquisitors, but Lavellan must have everything. EVERYTHING.

Thanks for sharing this! When the question was posed earlier about how your Lavellan would respond, I hit the reply button with great purpose and then ended up staring at the blinking cursor forever.

Two years is a long time, that's true. However, I don't think my elfy would manage to fully get over him in all that time. Not when he promised her an explanation. Not when she fell so hard to begin with. Not with a bare-faced reminder of what they had and what he said she meant to him staring back at her on every reflective surface. And certainly not when she was locked into the relationship after he left her lakeside. Hah. But my Tiger wasn't angry. She was blindsided. Confused. Ashamed of her unmarked face. Feeling childish for indulging her stupid heart. That's how I imagine she felt after he left. And bringing her through the JoH add on post game, recovering the memories of the last Inquisitor, how could she not think of what she had and lost?

I'm sure she had to push all that confusion and hurt away to deal with the rest of the world for a while, but as soon as she sees those broad shoulders and that hairless head, I doubt the rest of the world will even matter. At least for that moment, when the dam she put up to hold all those feels at bay for so long breaks at the sound of his voice.

Still, I just can't figure out what she'd actually say to him. Thanks to this, I can imagine she doesn't have to say much at all and still get her point across. So here's hoping >[Shut up and cling to Solas] shows up on the dialogue wheel for my struck speechless Lavellan.

Of course even if it does, I'll likely reload a dozen times to see all the other options too. :3

I figured I'd ask--- what specialization should I go for? I have only done Knight Enchanter and I love it, but I was thinking of going for rift Mage. Not because of Solas but because its different. What Specilizations are your favorites? Maybe by the time I get to it your opinions help as I'm terribly indecisive .

 

Since no one else has "advocated" for it: I went necromancer. For the first time in DA I wanted to use blood magic, and necromancer was the next best thing. Some of the companions commented, Solas was curious about it.

 

As for gameplay, imo it's more about 'damage dealing' than rift mage (control) or knight enchanter (defense).

I just checked my calendar today and saw that I have a doctor's appt. (which is 3 hours away from where I live) that day so I'm going to have to wait till I get back home to get it.

I really hate to say this but I have a feeling if we end up fighting Solas then it's probably our doom. I'm sure he's going to need our power and since his story is not over it will probably end up with him killing us (Hell the inquisitors who drank from the well can probably end up being his slaves anyway if we force his hand)..... I mean he is appearing after two years because he wants to be found. I also highly doubt you will be able to talk him out of whatever he's going to do. There might be an option to give up the mark willingly without a fight, in which case you most likely die from that as well. The optimistic side of me hopes you'll be able to run off with him and help him by your own choosing but in all honesty; my quizzy is no push over and if she doesn't like what he's up to then she won't go for it (which means she's done for). as for my guys/gals who wouldn't run off with him, I'm honestly scared lol. I mean they have to get rid of the Inquisitor and his/her Power somehow or else they would be expected to save the world again in a dragon age 4....and That's not going to happen.

 

Also, Solas had some conversation in inquisition talking about people in power becoming corrupt and unable to give it up...I can't remember his exact quote. I think it was a conversation with Cassandra, ah the foreshadowing.

 

Don't worry people these are just my own theories and ramblings! sorry if people have brought up the same ideas but although I lurk in this thread from time to time, it's been a long while since I've wrote something in here.

 

Hope I didn't legitimately upset anyone, I'm not trying to be negative at all jut musing over it.

Thanks. I just googled again how long they can live cause it's been years since I read that and saw that someone had a Persian that lived to be 17 and a owner of a persian said they could live to be 20 if you take good care of them so that gives me hope.
