I'm gonna have such trouble pacing myself once I'm playing. And I will be too scared to step foot on the forums. With those circumstances, what's scaring me is I might end up the same way I did after my first play through but worse because it's the end.

Ughhhh help.

Would he really need the geas to do that, though? He and Cole are best buds. Solas could probably convince him that the Inquisitor would be happier without the memories.

With the twist that the 0.00001% of inquisitors who sent Cole away would be immune. Mwahahahahahaha...

Maybe not, but I don't think that Cole would do that against Lavellans will - since she probably has a lot of happy and cherished memories of Solas as well. Though Cole could possibly say a few "right words" to ease the pain like he did with the woman down by the infirmary tents in Skyhold.

Might be that Solas has the power to erase memories himself anyway without the geas, being a Godand all.

But it would be kind of bothersome to erase her memories since every other companion will remember their relationship, it would have to be some kind om "mass-obliviate"....

Yeah, im the same way. The first time you play is the ONLY time you will play it for the first time. I always wonder at the people who, in their hurry to be the first one finished (for YouTube reasons, whatever), miss out on how it feels, because they were in such a hurry to just get it done.

I need to slow down, take it all in.

Also, according to ashe's write up of the Q&A, "his role isn't integral to the events of Trespasser". So, what? We get separated from the group and just happen to run through the eluvian that leads to his current locale?

This is speculation- but the trailer seems to suggest that he might be the one who turns all the qunari into stone. If that's the case, he probably intervenes at some point to "protect" either the temple, or the Inquisitor.

Edit: And if it is I wish the trailer hadn't included the stone Qunari. Same as I wish descent's trailer hadn't included the end boss.

Our Levallan's have been LOCKED into this romance, alone, for two...sodding...years.

That should earn us the possibility of a future, right?

Maker help me but I have faith in Weekes and will until he proves me wrong.  Just a tiny hint of a possible future is all I want.

You know, reading that write up from Ashe, I keep getting caught up on the mark's new abilities they keep hinting at. I mean right now it just looks like its trying to take the Inq's arm off. But I'd love it if the mark being exposed to these ancient places did something like let the Inquisitor see the past. Like Arlathan flashbacks manifesting around the party (like those purple spectral sentinels, maybe). I mean, the mark is tied closely to the Fade, which basically records the real world around it. And the Breach could enable time travel. The mark is like a mini-breach... Just a passing thought. It'd be interesting if these flashes were how the Inquisitor learned Solas might be Fen'Harel. I still think she has no reason to believe him if he just tells her he is.

The "mini-breach in my hand" conjured up images of how incredibly dangerous facepalming would be  :P

@Mims - Which is what I assumed all along.  Like you're in some **** and you run into him again.  This is a pure accident. Though - I mean it may not be directly about him but he's obviously related some how.

This is my big worry atm, at least with our first PT we could hold some kind of hope for the future, not this time.  If I have to go through that again...sans hope?

I'm ashamed to post this but "Not Over You" by Gavin Degraw is like the perfect song about Solas and my Inquisitor. The first line is about seeing someone in your dreams. Then,
"Took this heart and put it through hell, but still you're magnificent."
I'm not at all emotional about this discovery. Not. One. Bit.

I will be taking my sweet time with this DLC, because it's the one I've truly been waiting for all this time. Besides, it is the END of DAI. I'm not good with endings and it's hard for me to let go. So I'll go around and do every little side quest just so I can hang out with Dorian, Cole, Varric, and Bull for a while longer.

But I'll probably be here a lot too, sharing semi coherent write-ups of the searing pain in my heart after every major milestone (spoiler tagged of course).

 ...

Oh my God, you are right. It's Labor Day. I completely forgot. Why couldn't they release this on the 7th, darn it?! I'd have a whole day to play!  :crying:

Oh, that's actually good for me, means I'll have a whole day to get prepared and get everything in my playthrough just right before I head out to the epilogue.

I just assume he has a home security system in his temple, and is hella confused when the alarm starts beeping. Comes 'home', and its a bunch of old friends you don't hang out with anymore and a **** ton of qunari. We've all been there.

Errr...no.  You were locked in by the game programming so the GAME could read would you did.  It has to lock you in so the dialogue options would pick up.  Say you moved on - right - well you still dated Solas it would be a BIT odd him not mentioning it at all.  That's more dialogue trees and options.  More time and money.

What you fantasize for your Lavellan is a different story.  I doubt they will mention much of anything in regards to the Inquisitior's personal life for the past 2 years so people can headcanon how they want.

Also you don't "earn" a relationship.  The writers don't owe you anything really.  They owe you a non-buggy game with a good story. That's what you should hope for.

Yeah this. I really, really want my first playthrough to be with my Lavellan because I love her to bits, but damn. I'm honestly not sure I can handle the feels of a completely doomed romance. I don't do tragic well at all, unless there's some nugget of hope. I feel like I'm repeatedly being run over by a big angst bus at this point.

But on the other hand, my only other character who has finished the base game romanced Blackwall and ... meh (at least in comparison to Solas). Don't know whether to embrace the pain or avoid it as much as possible!

Also, according to ashe's write up of the Q&A, "his role isn't integral to the events of Trespasser". So, what? We get separated from the group and just happen to run through the eluvian that leads to his current locale? lol I hope Solas shows up with no other connection or reason than to save the Inquisitor from the mark and/or the Qunari that are attacking them. Since it means he wouldn't be behind the attack and instead just decided to come help, that would count as "not integral to events", right? Since "events" would be the Qunari trying to kill us. Its plausible. I mean, he's him, so he has to know the Qunari are screwing around in the eluvian network. And I don't doubt he can tell his magic in the anchor is becoming unstable.

I'm guessing it will be a lot like a Flemeth appearance. Not intergral to the immediate plot, but integral to the bigger picture/plot arc, showing up just in time at a critical moment to bail you out/give you cryptic advice, etc.

He's too complex a character to be an outright villian. Although the bit about the mark becoming unstable and getting new super powers worries me a bit. Fen'Harel has a track record of sealing gods/powerful beings away...what if quizzy could be next if she can't find a way to control herself or get rid of the anchor. So his help might come with a price, just like Flemeth's often did.

Our Levallan's have been LOCKED into this romance, alone, for two...sodding...years.

I was thinking about this earlier on, how tragic the romance is (as if we didn't know that already). Someone mentioned some pages back (I'll paraphrase as best I can) that the romance is for Solas, that Lavellan is the one trying to woo him, whereas with most romances in DA (and ME for that matter) where all the protagonist usually has to do is say "do me" and they will. With this role-reversal, when we get the breakup scene, it's Solas' choice to lock himself in, and he chooses the broken heart icon every time.

We've all talked about how much of a tragedy it is for Solas, how he really wants this but goes against it for whatever he deems as the greater good, but the tragedy is there for Lavellan too. She's locked in, she can't move on, and now we know it's been -canonically- two years being locked into a dead romance.

Poor girl. D: I'm sticking with what Mims mentioned earlier and will continue to hope for at least a promise to meet again one day, but if we don't get that then I'd like the choice to back out so Lavellan can find someone else, and not even to romance someone else in the Inquisition (that'd be a gunshot romance, wouldn't it!), just be able to move passed him if the option to go with him or wait for him isn't there.

I second that. I think Solas=Flemeth plot-wise from now on.

Exactly, the first play through is wondrous. You're skipping through the world with your love interest, full of hope and.. fluff. No input from anyone outside the game, just you and your companions.

Then boom: ending. What.. What!?

Hold on.. *googles*..

*Finds Solas thread*.. Oh, the closure isn't real.

I don't wanna go through that without you guys but I don't want to risk spoilers. This is worse! :crying:.
