lol I couldn't win as a Mage. Sparing Loghain upset him, so I decided to reload and not spare him and still get dumped! I can't be with Alistair unless I'm a Cousland who kills a man I don't want to kill, or willing to be a mistress. Not happening! I won't change my morals for one man who won't/can't change for mine. Bugger still held a grudge by DAA and DA2.

I stumbled upon the outcome that let Amell stay with Alistair by happenstance. Mine was vengeful enough to execute Loghain, and backed Anora. I didn't even know she could turn on you until I compared notes with my bestie.

But that's what I loves about the Landsmeet choices; all of the outcomes make sense if you RP them well.

There's a question I've been meaning to ask for some time.

 

Most of the romances in the game have a repeatable "kiss" dialogue option when there isn't any quest-specific dialogue scheduled. I know that Solas doesn't, and I mostly understand why, but it still feels as if there should be some kind of acknowledgement, for lack of a better word. I'd heard that it's possible to talk to Solas in dreams after the end game, but nobody ever said how. Is it true? Can you click on the bed or something and get a dialogue or cutscene? If so, it would be really cool, and it would fill my need for some kind of interaction outside the romance dialogues, but I'm not sure how they'd implement that.

 

So, my question is, can you talk to Solas in dreams, and if so, how?

Oh sweet Maker no.

Of all the things that have me a ball of nervy feels for this DLC, I'm most worried about my Lavellan. I've mentioned this before, but she's my only truly heroic DA PC. I already killed off Hawke; I don't think I could take it if Lavellan dies or snaps. And I know it's probably one dialogue option among several, but Alix's furious rant in the Trespasser trailer has me very worried.

I made Alistair bonk Morrigan so my Warden could live.

I made Alistair king so Stroud would be Warden so I could send him to go cuddle Nightmare, letting my purple Hawke walk scot-free!

I am not losing my Inquisitor!

 

Re-reading that I sound like an awful player to my characters. xD Especially to Alistair! I'm sorry, baby!

That's a good point! Hmm.... But maybe what happens to the mark is that the magic starts randomly going away all of a sudden. 

 

Solas: I suspect you have questions.

Lavellan: Yes, I need your help with the mark. That wonderful tingly function... it's not working anymore. I need you to fix it.

Solas: Oh for... Really? 

Lavellan: It's the least you could give me after leaving me alone for TWO YEARS!

Solas: *sigh* I suppose you're right. 

 

Solas does his magicky magical spell and leaves, walking into the eluvian all alone. Lavellan is heart broken, old wounds reopened all over again.

 

But right before disappearing into the eluvian, he dropped a note on the floor. 

 

Lavellan unfolds it, hands shaking, and reads:

 

"Vhenan,

 

I have upgraded the capability of the mark to allow for remote control of some functions. 

 

Whenever I think of you, I will send slight tremors in the veil surrouding the Anchor. You will be able to feel those vibrations on your skin.

 

I trust you will use this wisely.

It depends on why.

 

I mean....the world is probably looking pretty sad for my Inquisitor. She has pretty much lost everything that she would have held dear to her heart. Her clan is dead.....the whole Temple of Mythal experience with being told she's not one of the People......then Solas dumping and leaving.....saving the world and apparently no one cares that she did that anymore......I mean, helping make Thedas a better place is probably the last thing she has really held on to since Cory was killed.

 

So, if there is not a whole lot of reason to stick around( Like some new group of people that need her help or just something. Anything) and her death would actually benefit Thedas...being a martyr basically.....then I think she'd do it. I mean....she's pretty done with Thedas and it's drama. Time to see what the Void is all about.

I want my Inquisitor to live since I have um...50 pages...of meta on my Trevelyan.  It will be wasted if the Inquisitor dies.  And I will be kind of sad.

I'm hoping it's just an option. Pulling a ME3 Shepard is not the DA way.

The funny thing is - I really did enjoy the romance and I love his character overall. Like he's fascinating and very sad -- the whole thing about the lost empire.  *cries*.  But I do want to make fun of it sometimes. It's something I love. And I'm looking forward to unpacking the "what's next".  Here though. Not...*out there*.  On the tumblr, I will continue to pandering to my hardcore fans of James Spader who follow me. 

Yeah, it's nice how relaxed this thread tends to be, especially when you compare it to the outside fandom. Discussion may get heated at times, but there's no name calling or personal attacks like you see on Tumblr etc.

 

And yes, even with the crazier side of the fandom he's still my favorite romance at the moment. I've gone through a few of the others and they just don't leave much of an impression on me. Solas has his issues, and I think that's what makes him such a great character. I'm really looking forward to how they expand on his story in the DLC. From what I was reading it seems like they're setting him up, or at least his story, to be something that spans a few more games. Which might suck for Solavellans, but for me it means we might see more of him in the future and that's exciting. Also more Solas brings more opportunities for the Pantheon.

I've never heard of this happening, nor have I seen any evidence in game of it.

 

Perhaps it's headcanon, or possibly an element of fanfic, that got misconstrued as a game mechanic?

And my Lavellan was SCARED of Cullen when they first met. Big gruff human in templar armor; never mind that he's basically a harmless puppy who gets picked on by his colleagues

Man, I thought I was ready for feels. Should've listened to Illidan!

 

I love these headcanon moments. My Lavellan wasn't scared of Cullen, but she was scared of Leliana.

 

But in the end, they became good friends.

 

I should work on my Leliana-fCousland fic again to distract me from Solas feels. But nope, later I'll probably work on the nightmare one.

I'm excited to see what he can really do.  I like hobo solas but I think I'm going to like angry-god more. Like I love the idea of the Pantheon and what happened to them. And also my headcanons of the pantheon and his most glorious and holy June!!!!
