Because writing "spoilers!" is a definite "yes" XD
That's kind of the dev default answer when it's basically something that could or couldn't be but they can't really address.

Anora never betrayed me. I was shocked to find out she could!
Oh and are you guys possibly ready to let your Inquisitor die?
Rust_King @Rusted_King I love #DragonAgeInquisition. And i love my Inquisitor. In DLC "Trespasser" is any chance that my Inquisitor can die?
Patrick Weekes @Rusted_King Spoilers!
I'm excited to see what he can really do. I like hobo solas but I think I'm going to like angry-god more. Like I love the idea of the Pantheon and what happened to them. And also my headcanons of the pantheon and his most glorious and holy June!!!!
I'm totally hoping that this from the trailer
means we get to go to June's temple. It's a total no logic to it hope....but those elves on the wall have his vallaslin! And I have a weird obsession with June. I think it's because I'm a crafter in real life....
I want to know what June really did and why it points out there is not much reference to him in elven lore.
Like really, if we go to June's temple that will totally make up for being re-dumped by Solas in the DLC. For me anyway.....probably not enough for my Lavellan....but plenty enough for me.

No. Very no. I had to kill my Hawke in this game to save Loghain. Again. (I'll do it every playthrough too.) I am not ready to murder my Lavellan. Not even for Solas.
I'm sure there will be an agonizing choice however - lest we've forgotten whose logo is on the title screen. More so for us, as it will probably be delivered by Solas himself, forcing us to make a game altering decision under the influence of much feels. I imagine Thedas is pretty much doomed when Tiger Festival stares up at Solas with her big green eyes and that glowy ring of important decision making appears underneath her face.
On a related note, did anyone else opt to save their doggie over thousands of innocent lives in Fable 2? No? Just me? Hmm...
I always spare Loghain too. First time I played DAO I romanced Zevran (so no worries with Alistair until later lol) and had such a happy ending with everyone alive, and in DAA Loghain visited the Keep to bring me presents lol! DA2 was less happy and now I have no clue about DAI. I want it happy like DAO if I can be given the option. I chose Hawke's demise because I don't believe she actually died and after all she's been through, this was her time to do something that didn't backfire like the previous times.

I'm hoping we might see wolf Solas. But also assuming there might not be a budget for it.
I've never heard of this happening, nor have I seen any evidence in game of it.
Perhaps it's headcanon, or possibly an element of fanfic, that got misconstrued as a game mechanic?
I have never heard of this. Post-game you catch him speaking to Cole, but that's all I've seen.
Thanks for the replies!
That's what I thought, that someone was passing headcanon as an in-game event, but I wanted objective confirmation. I was unsure because my game has bugged out before and I've missed dialogues that others have gotten, so if there was additional dialogue and I wasn't getting it, it wouldn't be completely unprecedented, but it's reassuring to hear that isn't the case. I too have heard Cole repeat Solas's message.
If that report of post-game dialogue had been true, it would have been nice. It would have been a pleasantly thoughtful touch. But at least I know that my game isn't bugged

Oh lordy yes. Angry god Solas with a mission would be hot. I tend to be biased when it comes to dark magical lords though.
But yes, I'd like to see him get really intense to achieve whatever goal he's set for himself. He's left the Inquisition, so I'm hoping there's no need for him to try to blend into the background anymore. Like step your sexy self forward and take control, buddy.

Well, don't be surprised if they decide to make that the end for Hawke. I wouldn't be surprised considering killing off protagonists is BW easiest way to finish their storyline without headaches. I would leave the Inquisitor behind in that mission if I could, but you can't just ask me to kill off either Hawke or the HoF. But to quote Loghain "I know exactly how much I lost that day".
Oh sweet Maker no.
Of all the things that have me a ball of nervy feels for this DLC, I'm most worried about my Lavellan. I've mentioned this before, but she's my only truly heroic DA PC. I already killed off Hawke; I don't think I could take it if Lavellan dies or snaps. And I know it's probably one dialogue option among several, but Alix's furious rant in the Trespasser trailer has me very worried.
Yeah, I can deal with some angry outbursts but mine is definitely not an angry person, so it would likely be more of a stress-frustration moment I could headcanon. I just hope the tone is something we do have degrees of control over.
I love my Lavellan a lot, and I would not want her to die, but there's so much we don't know yet. If there is some context reason for such a thing, but hopefully not forced on players.

Ok let me just melt at that pic for a moment... ![]()
Anyways! They said he would not be the Soals we remember or to be exact:
"His situation in a lot of ways has a parallel with that of Mythal, right? I mean he's almost of another time. And I wouldn't say that he is of the same nature...character-wise? That's something that you'll learn some more about him in Trespasser."
So we are going to be meeting Fen'Harel, not Solas. How much of Solas really existed within him is what I'm curious about.

This is one of my worst fears about him and it seems it will come to pass.
Wow, this actually, truly hurts right now.

I kind of imagine his "god form" to be a bit like the OG gods from American Gods. Like I remember when he described Kali - she was this old chubby Indian woman but then at the battle - if you looked askance - you saw her as she truly was which was this towering goddess holding a bunch of severed heads.
This is one of my worst fears about him and it seems it will come to pass.

I'm trying to stay positive and think this is just additional depth of character unfolding but I admit I am afraid of what this means.

I know the feeling. Whether romanced or just a good friend, he'll always be Solas to my Inquisitor, and to see someone she thought she knew as a stranger to her now, it will just be heartbreaking.

Ungh, I forgot about this! I'm hoping we'll see it too. ^^
Edit: I mean. there is a wolf model in game... Make it a bit bigger... Make it white if it's a romanced Solas, black if not... It could happen!

Weekes or Laidlaw said they could have survived, so it's up to us until it's stated otherwise it seems.
I missed where they said this, so this is exciting news for me. He's old and has sooo much life experience. I can only imagine how many layers of personality he's built up during his long life. I can see him shedding that quiet attitude he adopted during Inquisition and bringing forth his more intense nature that you get a glimpse of at the Winter Palace and his personal quest.

It probably is one of many dialogue options, and they picked it for the trailer because it's dramatic. Ugh, the fury and anguish in her voice just kills me.
My Lavellan is also not an angry person. In a 100+ hour game, I can count on one hand the number of times she expressed genuine anger at someone. And I think Solas was on the receiving end twice
This is one of my worst fears about him and it seems it will come to pass.

Well, wait. Does this mean he isn't of the same nature as Mythal/Flemeth? Or he's not the same person we met in Inquisition? IMO the latter would sort of defeat the purpose; I know they've said that all the companions changed over the two years, and that's great IMO, but it's only impactful if they're still recognizable as the same person.
I'm trying to stay positive and think this is just additional depth of character unfolding but I admit I am afraid of what this means.

It's just, I'm a bit surprised by my reaction... I feel all the feels but kind of enjoy the drama as well, as if watching one very long sad movie.
But thinking of the adorkable fade nerd being suffocated by some giant black Dread Wolf god or whatever creature - that actually hurt me for real.

One thing to note though is this!
"Your romance with your companions or advisors depends on what choices you made. Relationships will vary in general; for instance, Cole may not return if you did not complete his "Human versus Spirit" quest line. If you did do his personal quest, however, the results of making him more of a spirit will definitely show compared to an Inquisitor who promoted being human. No further spoilers are mentioned, in the exception of Solas which we'll mention later, but Mike Laidlaw states that "If a character is potentially romanced or potentially friend, then those will vary quite distinctly. [...] Cause we wanted to make sure a little bit of extra sauce was poured onto the romanced characters, right? Because you want that to feel special..."

I prefer to think of the adorkable Fade nerd and the giant black Dread Wolf god as facets of the same person. We just didn't see as much of the Dread Wolf in Inquisition: occasionally bits of that element to his personality slip out, like at Halamshiral. So maybe we'll see more of that side to him this time.
*waves tiny Team Optimism flag*

Yeah, I think Solas will still be, essentially, the same person we've always known, just minus the lies.
I just put on an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars while I work and the little quote at the beginning was "Anything that can go wrong, will."
No, I already had enough feels over all this Solas stuff. Damn it, Star Wars. ![]()
