Can one of you PLEASE go watch Ashe's new Laidlaw video and then break it down for us? I can't watch it and I'm dying.

Wait... Teagan is in the DLC?
Yup. He's apparently the Fereldan in red on the tribunal with Divine Vivienne in the trailer.
I'm wondering if this means that this guy is trade partners with that orlesian in Hightown who ran the Bone Pit or something. I mean the only other bit of "Orlesian culture" I can think of that we don't really have represented in the person of a single character is the chevaliers, maybe? But I don't know how THAT would tie in to DA2.
My mind went straight to thinking about who was in the MoA DLC and whether any of that could be relevant. I'm drawing a blank. It's been a long time since I went through DA2.
Also, why did I go back to the trailer to see what the Orlesian dude looked like? Of course he's just a dude in a mask.

Yaaaay. I always liked Teagan. -goes to watch the trailer-

Qunari aren't the only enemy that you'll face either, he hinted. So, maybe there are going to be other baddies too? Wonder who they could be...
Prolly those purple ghost elves we can see in a few shots of the trailer. I mean, we're trespassing in places we shouldn't afterall. Magical elven places. Makes sense there'd be guard dogs. lol
What does that mean, "presuming we do another one"?
I've heard that the new game hasn't been greenlighted yet :<
But we don't know too many thingsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
One of the other threads noted that to have something greenlit, they have to actually have something to greenlight. Which is to say they might be working on pitches right now to show the higher ups, and if it's a story that is feasible and worth the expense it will be given the go. It works that way, rather than the higher ups coming down and saying "all right, go build a new game or something." Which makes sense. They want to know that they'll be paying people to produce something that's already nailed down as a concept, rather than having them staring at a computer screen for weeks doing not much of anything in a game's cycle.

Oh hey! MAybe that list of Qunari agents in Orlais Talis was after comes in to play and that guy is one of them? Or has been hunting them? or something?
Surprising that we won't see any Skyhold. Perhaps because they don't want to fix that wall?
Skyhold might be cut for budget reasons. Or...other game design reasons. Since we don't go back to the open world hub after Trespasser, it sounds like even if they did make changes to Skyhold, we'd only get to see those changes for the duration of Trespasser. Or maybe Skyhold gets nuked from orbit by a giant yellow qunari-controlled Fade dragon. You never know ![]()
Also, you know all those Solas feels that I thought I had worked out? Yeah NO. Replaying Jaws, and just ugh. The parallels between Solas/Lavellan and Telana/Ameridan hurt twice as bad if he's not actually there.
OOOOO EEZZZZ THIS WOMAN TEEEAAGGGANNNN?
My Lavellan: EXCUSE YOU. I'm the f*cking Inquisition
- I hope Isolde is back.
You don't even need Isolde. Just her voice, wandering around the tribunal hall or mingling at a party. It's got its own special personality and life, it could do it.

Probably the ghostly sentinels we saw. Can't have an elfy DLC without elfy enemies!

Isolde is probably my favourite Orlesian noble, honest.
I would argue that by now, those of us who have decided to stick with Solas for our Lavellans probably shouldn't be surprised if things aren't sunshine and rainbows for them. We've had almost a year to change our minds and romance someone else instead, but we keep coming back to that stupid pajama elf
Sigh. You know it. I've expected bittersweet for a while, though why not have a bit of optimism? We'll know (at least something closure related) next week.
I'm going to run out of likes so early in the day.
An interesting point I noticed - Descent will show different approaches to the Inquisition, in comparison to the main game which is wholly positive, and there's tension between that viewpoint and the cracks that show two years since its purpose was fulfilled. Mike specifically compared it to the Krogan arc in ME - on the one hand, you'll get given a reason to help them, and on the other side, you'll be reminded they nearly took over the galaxy, and this back-and-forth is repeated until the player is given a choice etc.
Descent will also involve the Inquisitor making a decision about the fate of the Inquisition after being given those different arguments (meaning we can probably decide to dissolve the Inquisition if needed - I wonder if we can opt to give our anchors back to Solas, then?).
To be fair, Inquisition was happening in an interesting time - a unique enemy appeared, spawning rifts and Breach that only one known person in the world could deal with, and the Herald is generally viewed by people as literally godsend. That itself was enough of reason keep most mouths shut, even if there were larger objections - though even more of a reason to knock Inquisitor down once they either 'done their duty', or people in power realize that those heretic upstarts soon will rule entire south of Thedas, if they're not doing it already.
In any case, I'm pretty happy that there are realistic consequences or 'consequences' (political opponents throwing Inquisitor under the bus and so on), which I hoped we'd get in either final piece of DLC or next DA.
As for the Anchor... it's hard to say. According to Divine in the Fade the Anchor is part of Quizzy and can't be removed without their death. Of course, question remains whether Solas managed to find a solution for it, or what the whole "Anchor trying to kill Inquisitor" or "evolve" means.... Is it growing? ....Is it fading?
.... Is it growing a conscience of its own and soon Inquisitor will be able to legitimately tell people to "talk to the hand"? ![]()

Oh maybe! I mean, that would be the most relevant person to have show up and represent Orlais when Qunari are pouring out all over the place.
Even though Teagan looks a bit haggard, I am super happy to see him. I've always enjoyed his character when he pops up. I'm guessing the middle character will be Cass and Leliana for me. Ooooh, Cass will be in her Divine clothes? That's something I strangely want to see
Hopefully who got made Divine in each of my games won't change when I redo the ending.

There needs to be art of this at some point.
You guys are so good to me. Thanks for giving me the deets to the interview. I'm hellspiraling now.
Since there will be a crafting & enchanting area in the Winter Palace, what are the odds Sandal will be there? ![]()

And now I am left thinking of D. http://vampirehunter.../wiki/Left_Hand

@Cee - SOLID D REFERENCE. A++
And now im thinking the ending is like that one where Solas weepingly takes your dead body up into the ancient elvhen starship BECAUSE LOVE NEEDS TO BE FREE.
Hahaha, yup. Once we were spirits of hope, full of the prospect of having our hearts mended, our love returned. Then the corrupting influence of Weekes despoiled our nature and turned us to nothing but despair; wailing into the darkness, soaking the ground with our tears.
I hope you don't mind if I plagiarized some of your brilliant poetic post for Les Mis, because... well of course it has to be Les Mis:
And now im thinking the ending is like that one where Solas weepingly takes your dead body up into the ancient elvhen starship BECAUSE LOVE NEEDS TO BE FREE.
You mean... like at the end of this?
(well what did you expect in an opera? A happy ending?
)
