Dilemma guys - do I try and rush another playthrough (I've been wanting to do a TrevMage for so long), or do I perfect my existing Lavellen?

 

I have my one canon (Solasmancing mage Lavellan), but I kind of hoped I'd have multiple quizzies I could take on unique endings by the point I got to this DLC being released. At the moment I just have have my Lavellan and my Adaar. I thought I'd have to wait a few more months. Aaaaahh.

I say perfect your Lavellan, having a perfect PT is better than having an extra one.

You could do it afterwards again anyhow.

With Mike Laidlaw reconfirming this is an end end, I'm not ready. Especially since I've grown to really love my Lavellan. Time to clear out and back up a lot of my saves since I suspect I will need many, many slots for Trespasser.

if it turns out to be a real gutpunch, we'll all be in it together, even the ones like me who weren't particularly invested in a happy ending. I'll still be beside myself with intense feels even though it wasn't high on my list.

 

we will remember the awesome parts, reminisce and cry about the sad parts, speculate on the new lore revelations, share playlists and oh the fix-it fic, we will be drowning in a glorious sea of fix-it or 'what happened next'? fic and it will be beautiful. /o/

also can I say,

 

we had the deepest, most beautifully cinematic-animated, most plot-tied/lore-impactful romance to date or at least in terms of Inquisition (imo), with one of the most well-written and well-voiced characters, most complex and nuanced character. we've all ridden quite an emotional rollercoaster since the days of Bald Elfy McSmuggins, we did it together and looking back on the last 1.5 years+ it's been a hell of a ride with you all that was made all the more amazing for me by you guyses' presence. I've had a great time with the Solas thread and community, made new friends, made connections with lots of new and creative talented people from all over the world. even during the times when I was busy with work yall were never far from my thoughts. whatever happens story-wise in a few days time, it's been beautiful and a lot of fun, I feel like I shared something really special with you all and I thank you for that

I think I've slowly begun to realize that probably they are going to kill the Inquisitor off.

Celene is just vile. I don't think the book made too many apologies for her. I think she attempts to use scholarly cultural pursuits - theatre, universities, balls, banquets - as a social good, presenting herself as some kind of reformer, forgetting that culture is often pretty useless to people who have no bread and coin. (This is not to say that peasants and working people don't have poetry, art, songs, etc. of their own - on the contrary, it's a pretty rich tradition - but it's hardly the way to make their social standing better). She seems like a "decent" enough peacetime ruler,  but in the event of a crisis (and there have been several), she's been pretty ineffective, pretending things are going as normal - I think one of your companions spells it out well, she lead Orlais to this point.

 

There we'll always disagree. Celene is many layers of humanity, but being plain evil is not one of them. She's someone that has so many interesting depths to her personality, that had to do many things she did because it was either do or die, and managed to keep the country at a relatively peaceful state despite all the agitation and people like Gaspard wanting to fuck things up and pushing her to the wall and forcing her to become ruthless. But being ruthless isn't her primary answer to things in life, unlike some others. But it is indeed an option whenever she's pushed to the point where anything else failed and she has still to survive. I have a million more times respect for her, despite the wrong she did, than I ever will for Gaspard. Ultimately, she's not an evil character at all. Just a very nuanced one, much more nuanced than Gaspard ever will. And a very misunderstood character at that, considering the amount of people hating on her.

And I did finish TME hating Gaspard a bit less than I did when I started reading it, but far from being enough to ever considerate the option of saving his ass ingame. Never, not in a million years would I ever place him on the throne.

So this is a little late. Regarding music, I too might often look for ironic or silly tracks to add to said play list, but I do have a more serious song that fit one of my SoLavellan's play through to a "T".

Welp, I've already killed off a Warden and a Hawke (though not in the same worldstate).  Might as well make it the trifecta?

 

Ugh, quizzy is the PC whom I least want to die.  Though I suppose if we're taking up the Andraste parallels...Andraste wasn't long for the world either, was she?

If my quizzy dies, the only PC I'm going to have running around in my canon worldstate is my bitter, jaded, sourpuss Amell.  Who is a fun character to play but...she's kind of over the whole saving-the-world thing after it bit her in the ass.  I suppose at that point the slate would be clear for DA4's protagonist: Hawke dead, quizzy dead, and a Warden who could not give fewer f***s 

 

On the upside, if quizzy does die/disappear, it's nice that we actually get to see it/play it instead of getting a few lines of dialogue or an epilogue slide.

My male Inquisitor shall fake his death and run away to Tevinter with Dorian.

 

My female Inquisitor shall become A GODDESS. She'll steal Mythal back from Solas   She did drink from the Well.. I can't imagine that isn't going to come back to bite her on the ass.

I don't think there will be a mandatory death due to their emphasis on 'you' deciding how Inquisition ends. But there'll probably a caveat to surviving that will take the Inquisitor out of the picture. 

 

Or, it is simply going to be Solas going, "Yeah, you're probably not long for the world." And then the Inquisitor decides that to do with the time left- search for a way to safely remove the mark, or just continue blazing through.
