Bob is an Inquisitor after my own heart...
He certainly is a precious baby~ (Not really, he's a grown man! A grown baby man!)
Bob the Qunari is still my favorite thing!
Aiugihiaha;lsdflds thank you! I really need to draw him more, but most Solas banter prompts are best filled by Bob's sister and not Bob himself. (Aside from the falling in love with Vivienne one the other day.)
Ahhhhh I hope we learn more about Solas at PAX, but that might be a bit too much to ask. It's in a little over a week! Ahhhh the anticipation!

DragonCon is also next week I believe -- though I doubt we will get news there. PAX Prime seems like a better thing to hope for. I expect a demo similar to this one. Or if not something as equally awesome. Laidlaw confirmed he won't be attending though, which sucks because he's one of my favorite devs. : (

Fine, my raunchy self will look for solace elsewhere.
The released backgrounds make me want to plan so much, but the unreleased LIs and race gates prevent it. I'm so torn. I want to figure out a PC for Solas.

Why did I read Bob's dialogue in William Shatner's voice?
Oh, it must be that Nimoy connection.

If not, there's not too many conventions left..
I'll be going to the Montreal Comic-con for all 3 days which they said they'll be at, so if they haven't announced LI status then, I'll bug them when I go xD

Nothing new since Gamescom, far as I can remember. Except that the Inquisitor backgrounds were released on the official site. No LI info, I'm afraid.

At first I thought Cass would be better but I can see hilarious squabbled between Solas and Sera more than I can from him and Cass. (Team Respectful Theological Debate).
Whoo boy! Now my mind is flooded with ST/DA mashups. Must stop but...Resistance is futile.

Thread! Today I started replaying Origins (BECAUSE I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE) and I'm re-visiting my oft-mentioned Surana canon to make sure I have everything nice and ironed out for November. It just so happens that while I was wandering about the prison tower I came across a mage or two that reminded me of this thread when there's new Solas footage or dialogue or... certain images... ![]()
I'll just leave that here. ![]()

I love that part!
That's perfect for Solas info days!
I've got a Cousland canon I'll be using first off, but I have a Surana world state I'm going to use after that. I actually started another Surana playthrough not that long ago, but I got busy and dropped it. It makes me a little sad that I find that easy to do now (dropping it, that is), but I've done everything SO many times. Remember how it felt the first time you played Origins? I could hardly bear to tear myself away from it...I HAD to know what happened next. When I wasn't playing it, I was thinking about it. I can't wait to feel like that again!
I guess I picked a good day to check in (racial backgrounds + BOB ART). After reading the backgrounds I HAVE to play a human mage at some point...that backstory is perfect playing a cynical, sarcastic femquisitor who's dabbled in things she shouldn't (necromancy! woo!) to pass the time and stay sane while caged up in a tower. A mage like Solas would be perfect for her, the whole "I can show you the world" thing while he restores her hope that she can have some kind of life as a free mage after they avert the Apocalypse. Yessss...
I kind of love all of the backgrounds, honestly. It's going to be really difficult to decide who to roll first. I go back and forth, but I probably won't decide for sure until I actually get the game and start to fiddle in the CC. I still think I'll go Dalish to start, but human is tempting.

Solas: (eyes closed, sitting on ground) Perhaps you should have gone with the Inquisitor.
Sera: Look. You wanted to work your...whatever it is in the Alienage and last I checked I'm the only other sodding elf on the team.
Solas: Well can you please stop daydreaming then? It's hard enough getting any anything from this place without the image of the Inquisitor and Lady Josephine in a giant carmel pudding wearing nothing but their small clothes.
Sera: What?! Get out of my head you pervy git!
Solas: Don't flatter yourself. It's like you're standing in the middle of the street yelling every little thought that pops into your head.

That's the human mage that's been nagging at me since I heard the backgrounds too! She's a cynical one and she's done with the whole 'being locked away in a tower' thing. I just love the idea of the dynamic that background would have with Solas! He's been a free mage all along and has dabbled in magic and knowledge that the Circle would harshly condemn. A human mage would be fascinated with that and with his free-roaming lifestyle, considering she's had the complete opposite. And I'm an enormous sucker for huge personality/personal story differences in a romantic couple. I was also thinking Dalish but my Dalish mage just seems to have too similar of a thing going on. Plus, she's looking at Cullen something fierce. ![]()
Of course, this all assumes that Solas is a LI and that he isn't race-gated for only elves or something like that.
Edit: So what kind of Inquisitor do you all think you'd want to romance Solas with? If When we find out that he's a LI, that is.

Since he's been described as being open minded, I wouldn't be surprised that if he's an LI, he wouldn't be race gated. Which means I get to romance him with ALL THE THINGS ![]()

Yes! All these things. ^
I'm thinking a free-spirited Dalish rogue now instead of a Dalish mage, because mine would also be too similar to my human. And SHE will be a nice contrast with the honorable, dutiful, slightly uptight Cullen. I'm a sucker for couples with differences too! ![]()

Definitely romancing Solas with my male Dalish mage, if he's available. Kindred spirits with shoeless solidarity.
I usually do odd couples, with mage!Hawke/Fenris being there at the top, so this'll be different for me. I've also never done an elf/elf romance right out the gate; my Surana was in love with Alistair and that's how I hopelessly played it, with his Zevran canon being something that happened in the post-game. I imagine after my Lavellan finds himself more entrenched in a new world than he originally intended, someone who can understand something of where he comes from would be a very welcome friend.
Though actually, now that I think about it, this might be a little similar to my Dalish rogue/Morrigan worldstate. ![]()

I absolutely adore and am in love with the idea of a mage human femquisitor who has been confined to the Circle for the entirety of her life to hopelessly fall for our bald elf mage, who has traveled vast areas and has lived in the wilderness, unconfined and free. They can share their struggles (and joys) as mages and she will show how over she is of losing the nobility that she had by falling for an elf and holding no prejudice whatsoever since she didn't grow up with the rest of her family~ Also because human/elf relationships are hot. ![]()

I've been thinking about a Cadash and Solas together lately, on a similar note! Someone who came from a rough place and a rough family but isn't really rough themselves is a character trope I really love. And if anyone could look past a criminal background, it definitely seems like it'd be Solas. I can just see him with a young, sarcastic Cadash who calls people things like "kid" and "bub".
Cadash: "Hey there, kid!"
Solas: "Inquisitor, I'm almost 20 years older than you."
INQUISITOR BOB...
Just having too much fun thinking about this spy thing.
Lavellan: You're sending me where?
Keeper: It's an important mission for all elfkind.
Lavellan: .....
Keeper: You always wanted to see more of the outside world. Well, here's your chance.
Lavellan: Halfway across Thedas? I was thinking more about the town around the mountain. I could spy on them.
Keeper: There's nothing there but pig farmers.
Lavellan: Suspicious pig farmers.
Keeper: I suppose I could always find someone else. You know, the Elders have been discussing marriage plans for you again.
Lavellan: What.
Keeper: Yes, they're losing patience with you. They're planning on finding a match for you at the next Arlathvhen.
Lavellan: What.
Keeper: I told them you might not be available because of the importance of this mission, but they'll be delighted to hear your change of heart.
Lavellan: WHAT change of heart? I've always wanted to see the Frostbacks and spy on a group of shemlen who would like nothing better than to lock me in a tower, if not kill me on the spot. I'm going right NOW.
Keeper: I thought you might feel that way.
This are amazing, you guys are so funny and talented! ![]()

I think I've figured things out (for now). Ugh Solas, you're making me build characters around you. That's how much I love you!
Female Mage Trevelyan and Female Mage Adaar will both be after that Solas lovin' and I'll get around to both at some point. Female Mage Lavellan will be going for that Cullen, a Female Rogue Cadash will take on either Iron Bull or Josephine and then I'll roll a Male Rogue Lavellan (or maybe an Adaar) for the dashing Mr. Dorian.
(Though it's very possible that, if Solas is a LI, every single one of those playthroughs could end up with him by accident. I'm weak-willed. There will be much reloading when I can't resist the option to flirt with Solas.)

Hey guys, sorry for the radio silence--been re-absorbed in the Sims since the Sims 4 is so close to release. Good to step back from the DAI fury, though.
But, the reason I popped: apparently parts of the Dragon Age Keep were leaked, so, be careful if you're trying not to spoil yourself for that!
Also, the Inquisitor I have planned if Solas is an LI is a Dalish mage. I'm looking forward to butting head with him over humans--she has a touch of the 'ew shems' in her--even if he isn't an LI. They're gonna be bros.

A like because you said Stabby the Bog Unicorn...I might call mine "Butt Stallion" either that or "Happy"
Also I have planned to play a Human female mage first to romance Solas but I've been going back and forth between an Archer or a Mage...eventually I will play a Human male so Solas and him can become bro's and for him to romance Cass.
