You're not alone! This is blasphemy, I know, but I always preferred Garrus as Shep's closest friend in the world rather than romantic partner. They had a great romance but I always gravitated towards Kaidan more. Will never understand the Kaidan hate.
I like Kaidan ^^ in another world.. i just cant tear myself away from the dreamiest space dinosaur that ever calibrated. the strong foundation of friendship moving through student/mentor to ace partners over 3 games, for a romance, is just not something often found in games

Hahaha, I love your impossible canon for ME. Couldn't imagine romancing Mordin myself, but damn I have a massive soft spot for him.
I think a lot of people were put off by how Kaidan was pushed onto you much the same way Ashley was if you talked to them frequently enough and were nice enough in ME1. It took me a second playthrough to realise how great Kaidan was. He's lovely and thoughtful and also super handy on the battlefield. Buuuut... I just can't resist romancing the super snarky space lizard/raptor/bird-thing with the scars (sorry).
This does make me think - after this DLC is out, surely a lot of us all stick around in the forums, even if in different areas, ey? Like I'm sure we'll all have opinions when ME:A and DA4 come out, and we'll hang around on those fan threads.

Hey Solas thread. Long time no see. It's not like we had grown distant because there was nothing new to talk about and I haven't played DAI for ages and real life interfered and..... it's not your fault, really, it's mine. You deserve better.

I can't make any promises as to how long I'll remain active. But no matter what I will always come back. I find it easier to pop in when I'm actually playing the game. I don't have any other games on the horizon for the next few months, possibly the end of the year so I am sure DAI will go back to being my main game again. It was hard when The Witcher 3 released. I think when I finally finished it I was at 150 hours. It will be a long time before I replay it, if I even do. Only other things I am playing at the moment is D3 with my fiance since the new season started. I pop onto WoW and FF14 every once in a while.
When the DLC launches I am sure I'll still be pretty active because I am guessing we're going to have a lot to talk about. Especially if we have a collective hellspiral!
I might come and go, but I have a tendency to do that. You can always find me in your local Tumblr trashcan reblogging K-pop gifs anyway. That, plus Twitter, Instagram and so on, I'm not exaclty the most difficult person to track down on the Internet.
