Now my only complaint about Solas shiny pate is that when I DO plunk a hat on him, the game gives him "fake" hair :|

Hey, it's me grasping at straws yet again. So this happened. Weekes favorited my tweet about lollipops. Either I'm onto something or he had himself a good belly laugh at my foolish optimism. [Note this whole post should be read with a tongue in cheek/sarcastic tone in mind 'cause I honestly give up.]
Next game, I'm romancing the most annoying jerk I can find, so I won't care when they dump me/die/turn out to be Darth Revan reincarnated as a cross dressing rodeo clown.

Maybe this has been mentioned in the last couple pages... but poor Bioware can't win!
Everyone in the old thread... "Well I'll shove a hat on him." "Just cover his head." Hat. Hat. Hat.
So at the ball he gets a hat, and everyone complains.
Okay not everyone, and I have an odd fondness for that damn hat.
His ball hat is the BEST. I didn't take Solas to the ball in my first run through (my mistake), because he is without a doubt one of the most fun characters to take along. He gets drunk, flirts wonderfully with you, wears a silly hat which discretely mocks the Orlesian nobility, and dances with you at the end. 10/10 ballmate.

They had to give him the most godawful looking piece of headgear and face shrapnel though.

I'll probably be peeking from time to time, depending how things will go.
Anyway - the more I think about it, the more I'm worried about our Inquisitors, and especially Lavellans who romanced Solas. Inquisitor pretty much has to face the reality of not being needed anymore - in fact, likely they're even fiercely opposed. They still have friends (if they've made friends), but even they seem to have moved on with their lives, doing other stuff, while she's stuck with an organization that either becomes more and more irrelevant, or under sharp fire. Even the Anchor seems to reject them - the one thing that made them relevant in the first place.
Plus, Lavellan still has to deal with some heartache, after her boyfriend ditched her and left her without a word, seemingly right after they stopped fighting for common goal, like some sort of used tool.
It's a reality that would be hard to face, even for very resilient people, I imagine
Hard to think what may happen if Solas is all cool and unapproachable ;P

I'm either efficient or just another sign that I've lost it. I just took a nap and had some DLC related dream I can't quite remember but the manner in which it happened and how I woke up suddenly gave me some additional ideas for polishing this latest Solavellan fic draft.

Agreed. I know there is a mod that removes the hat entirely, but is there a mod that just removes the face shrapnel?

Hey guys, so I'm currently looking to hunt down all the spare dragons I've yet to kill (anyone got a list?), and I spotted this.
Trespasser DLC trailer spoilers:
Spoiler
That particular ruin is fascinating. I thought it looked like an eluvian also. In fact, I put it in my one and only first and last fanfic. Lavellan walks through a previously hidden mirror there in her wolf hunt. I'll be disappointed if that location doesn't come up again. Also, yeah the colors of the statues may refer to something significant...makes me think of the difference in the wolves on the tarot cards.

It took me a while to really get going. But as it goes, once you do....

I read it as Ying and Yiang thing - those who cross may have to reach some sort of point of balance or something. It's also significant that the altar appears to be on the other side of some sort of hot spring and there's a bridge leading to it.
Makes me think of one thing - the Hierophant tarot card.

I love the idea of it and it's VERY Solas. In fact, my Lavellan wore a Helm of the Drasca for a long time, until The Descent. I keep helmets off though. But gods, the clipping.

That old thread was very entertatining to read. Wow, I can't believe people had such a problem with the baldness, it never really bothered me even before Solas caught my eye.
Back then there was speculation that he was an exiled Tevinter magister
Also these:
And finally, some wise words:
*hefts axe*
I have grown to love the baldness which has nothing at all to do with the fact that my s/o of 20 years is quite bald as well.

I thought the hat was silly, but totally something Solas would wear. As for the face schrapnel, maybe I'm especially dense, but I thought it was a nose ring at first. Some kind of ancient elven ceremonial nosering only worn on very special occasions.

Ok, that's very different from how I act. Probably more than 50% of my FB friends are people I have met online, be it on games or on various forums. Some I've met IRL, some have been my closest friends for years.
But then again, I've been on the Internet for...17 years (I'm old as balls, apparently), and I consider it like my home, so I don't hold back that much when it comes to interacting with people online. That is, if given the opportunity.
I've been online for about 7 years, and had my freedom for only 1, so I'm still hesitant about being open and all XD I'm not very interesting on Facebook anyways, too many family members there to disaprove of my geekhood. The Bioware forums is atcually me at my best, because I'm completely myself. Well, almost completely. The second best thing is me on Twitter, because I can't talk as much there lol

Me too! I'm the Solas rivalmance fanatic! I try to make him mad any chance I get in-game (and yes, I drank from the well too) and pretty much 70% of my fan fiction attempts is Solas and Lavellan yelling or throwing snark and each other. The other 30% is setting up the fights.
I adore angry Solas. ![]()

So glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! At first, I just let Morrigan drink from the well because I felt bad about denying her a god-baby in Origins. This playthrough though, I decided I wanted the Inquisitor to get the elven glory. After seeing how Solas gets all angry with Quizzy afterwards...

Same. I've been online almost as long. *high five for us old internet vets* I'm dating someone I met in a game a decade ago. A couple of my friends I've actually never been in the same room with, or same country, but we're 'together' via pics and videos and texts and chats all the time. I'm pretty much 'me' everywhere - online, in person.

Same here! My Lavellan is a warrior, and she totally behaves like one. (In my headcanon she wanted to be Keeper one day, but couldn't because she didn't develop any magical abilities. You can imagine how happy she was when she found out she got 'dem Fade magic hands'.) But yes, mad Solas is great! I love the angry bickering that Lavellan and he can have. Mine deeply respects Solas (mainly because of his knowledge of magic and the fade) but she totally can't get over him being all high and mighty. She'd probably give him the middle finger if she saw him again - and then be a sobbing mess. ![]()
