I know I started a mini hellspiral when I made the 'what we had was real' comment yesterday, but I'm still going to be here.  The thread will be less active, but I doubt most of us are going to abandon it completely (ALTHOUGH ALL OF YOU SWAPPING CONTACT INFO LIKE WE'RE IIN THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER CAMP WAS NOT BODING WELL).  With Solas looking set to become the new Flemeth then I'm sure we'll re-assemble when DA4 is announced.

I found Sten very easy to get along with, but I think he throws people who are expecting to have to tailor their answers to what they think the companion wants to hear.  Sten, however, likes people who speak their mind and stick by their position.  I found the approval I got from this was outweighting the disapproval.

 

I've been thinking about Sten this evening. I killed the Arishok in DA2, so er, that makes Sten now an Arishok according to the comic canon, yeah? You don't think he'll have anything to do with this Qunari invasion will he? 

That could be interesting. Doubtful, because I imagine because it's probably a different section of angry Qunari. But it would be cool to see him again. 

 

I made a high society Qunari that loves Viv. He conscripted the Mages and takes her everywhere. I like to imagine he enjoys the finer things in life. Afternoon tea. Silks. Fine clothes. Being taken roughly by the Iron Bull.

He's still wandering around in the Emerald Graves after not long arriving in Skyhold. If the DLC is good than I might push on with that playthrough.

 

I was hoping to try out this patch tonight but in 2 and a half hours it has managed 1.6GB. It has an ETA of 4 hours on the rest. So that's a no (it's 8.45pm here. I sleepy.) I'll just have to let the rest download on rest mode and try it tomorrow. This is a whole new level of slow for both my internet and PS4. It better not download Trespasser at this speed. I'll spit fire.

I'm sure we will have PLENTY of Solas stuff to discuss and speculate on. We went nearly a year without any real additional info on Solas and this thread managed to plug along quite happily. With all the art and fics plus the new lore to mull over and it's implications for the future, I'll sure people will still be on here loving their egghead.

Solas' initial promo images were just, IMO, so bad that it knocked down potential interest on my part.

lol, I did all of Vivienne's quests and killed the white wyvern for her and she still didn't like me. (Got the highest disapproval/rearranging furniture scene. xD) I guess a major factor for her disapproval of my Lavellan is going pro-mage.

 

She's much warmer to my m!Trevelyan though, who sided with the Templars. Still haven't continued his playthrough so I still can't say whether I like her or not. (Though really, I don't hate her.)

 

Catching up on the thread, sorry for continuing off topic discussion!  Viv has loved all of my characters.  Even my pro-mage Mage that allies with the mages.  I'm not entirely sure how I manage that.  Maybe I was being too manipulative and agreed with her on enough things that it all evened out in the end.  I like Viv.  I don't think she's faking it if she likes your Inky.  But yeah never had any problems getting along with her.  Wish I could remember specifically what things I said to her that made her like my pro-mage Inkys enough to not get high disapproval.

Nah. His eyes usually look dark and as if he used some eyeliner in specific lighting conditions (usually when it's very dark/shadow on his face). I think it's because - aside form his eyes being deep set - he has pretty long eyelashes.

I am experiencing this same thing.

 

Like, I wanna know. But I also know it's the last Solavellan thing, so I kinda wanna experience it fresh.

 

But then I think back to all the pre-release DAI spoilers where someone let us know Solas was Fen'Harel AND took out/killed/absorbed/whatever Flemeth who was also Mythal and we were so blown away we thought it was fake. But then playing through the game for the first time and spotting all those "hints" in advance was kinda cool.

 

I dunno. I'm torn.

 

I guess I really just wanna know if I HAVE to brace myself for nothing but tragedy or if there is some note of happy somewhere. But that's pretty damn vague and personally variable to ask a dataminer to tell you without going spoiler heavy.

 

Gosh, remember back when times were simpler and we just thought he was an adorkable elf mage nerd and we hoped soooooooooo hard that he might be romancable? Wow, that feels like centuries ago.

This.  I need to know how to design my new playthrough.  So far my Google fu has been lacking regarding such things.

 

Then again, now I must also wait since the patch broke mods.
