Ugh, I can't even escape Solas/Lavellan feels in random poetry posts on tumblr:

Maybe we have to betray ourselves in order
just to be ourselves. In the end, Truth taps
at the window of our souls. What quivers on the lake
are only the footprints of Fate. Even our astronomers
hear the funeral sounds of dying galaxies before they
ever see them. Gusts of time are filling my lungs.
[…]
I used to think Love would protect us from the shadows
we cast. I used to think that Hope was not what
jingled in our pockets. I used to think all this loneliness
would be unbearable. Now each word is a betrayal,
is the frayed rope-end of desire. Everything I say is
like some cargo hidden in the hold of a sunken ship.
In the end we all learn there’s no sea, no sky, no word
big enough to hold all our pain. Only this kiss. Only
Love’s dragline already hooking the very thing it fears.

— Richard Jackson, closing line to “The Apology of Judas"

You're welcome. Just need to upload it, takes a bit with my crappy-@ss internet, but it'll be there.

And I know how you feel. I've got my stuff on the disc version, so installing the base is easy enough. I just hate downloading the DLCs all over again.

Thank you! ^^ and no problem! Yeah.. it sucks to have to download all again :/

I swear everything I listen to lately makes me think of Solas/Lavellan. I'm just gonna leave this here while I try to avoid spoilers. I may know some of what to expect in DA:I, but I think I definitely want to play Trespasser with fresh eyes.

I love Halsey.

People really hate elves in the DAverse (sucks to be them when ELVES RECLAIM THEDAS. GLORY TO THE ELVEN EMPIRE)

Ahem..

So, I can see how he is an easy target.

He is very serious, he doesn't smile much, he can be a tad hypocritical in some of his party banter, he's pro-mage (which is another unpopular opinion), he doesn't like the Grey Wardens (which a lot of people are biased towards because of their love of their HoFs)...

Sorry to bring this post from the dead but!

I'm kind of trying to wrap my head around how people can excuse the Gray Wardens for what they did in Adamant so easily.

Yes, I felt horrible seeing Alistair's face frown when I exiled them but a) they are susceptible to Corypheus' mind-control-**** - this caused them to sacrifice the Divine, B) they scarified their brothers and sisters out of obsession to the blight out of their own volition (under the pressure from the calling), c) demons. Just.. Demons. It's obvious this is a bad idea!!

I feel that because of the fact the Gray Wardens starred it the first game that people love them, this game also made people hate elves and mages I think  :P .

Less relevant but:

In my first PT my dwarf was in romance with Blackwall and decided to keep the Wardens around, she had no firm opinion of the Gray Wardens, except for the fact HoF was a dwarf (my canon) which made her proud, her pride made her very hesitant to rid of them, and she didn't want to isolate Blackwall.

My second PT my Lavellan exiled them, she was head over heals for Solas and was obsessed with his advice and expertise, I suspect she always wanted a mentor but felt she didn't find one at the clan. Solas was also her first love.

My current Lavellan is an independent thinker, and thought about the decision thoroughly before making it, she decided to exile them. In her regained memories she saw the Wardens sacrificing the Divine, and then heard how Alistair defended them, explaining that Corypheus was controlling them. She doesn't despise the Wardens (like Solas does), she respects their sacrifice but feels like their obsession makes them act irrationally. Also, she doesn't want the Wardens around in case Corypheus pops up, it could lead to a lot of death. So she exiled them. She had one or two lovers before Solas ;) I like her the best because she is very independent and gives a lot of thoughts to her actions.

This is how I see it as well. Lying is what Blackwall does. Solas just... doesn't tell you the full truth.

Ughhh, I'm having so much hard time with Blackwall right now, because of that. I recently finished Here Lies The Abyss and he protects the Gray Wardens so passionately and I'm like "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU FAKE-FAKEY-FAKE-FAKEAROUNI-FAKER".

In fairness, there are times when even my romanced Quizzy would have had some major arguments with Solas. He can be very short and use some pretty provocative language, like when he calls Bull "a mindless beast", or shoots down Dorian for asking him questions, or telling Sera that she's not what she should be.

Or Varric, "child of the stone". Did Cole's quest yesterday, I forgot about that. I kind of quietly raged everytime he spoke to Varric with his condescending tone. Yes, you do know more about spirits, but don't be an ass :(

I did not like Vivienne at all in my first 2 playthroughs, and I refused to kill the white wyvren for her, but third time is a charm and I did her missions and got to know her a little more and now she's not so bad.

I feel like people who don't like Solas haven't given him a chance. It's kind of hard to like a character you ignore.

I always did her quest, but for some reason I got the scene later (with Duke Bastien's son) I disliked her even more. She used this as leverage and well as to try and influence someone who can make her Divine. I love her as a character, I hate her a person .

Alsoooo

I've seen throughout the 20 pages I now read that spoilers have been leaked.

I haven't looked, I don't want to be spoiled, so people.. please be considerate.

Even reactions to spoilers - not cool  :/

Have you tried just deleting the official patch folder and letting it download fresh?

But, here's a link to an archive of patches, including patch 10. The file name is DAIv1.10.

Art post time. ;)

Gorgeous WIP of Lavellan, Solas, and the Dread Wolf.

TFW your 2 year old is better behaved than every leader in Thedas. Lavellan and her 2 year old child (Solas being the father).

Solas wants Lavellan to stop jumping unto his desk. :P

Lavellan and the Dread Wolf.

Sexy Solavellan. Solas your Dread Wolf is showing. (NSFW-ish)

Sexy artwork of Solas carrying a wolf while in the water. (NSFW-ish)

Now let's keep ourselves busy.

We can:

a. Speak to Eviebot and teach it about Solas.

b. Play some DAI and find those pesky Invasion mosaic pieces.

c. Go to our finished characters and give them the 2 year makeover.

d. Try on outfits for our Lavellans.

e. All of the above.

Let me start! From left to right - Before, after, Skyhold outfit

Téa, dwarf rouge (2H), changed haircut, faded scars.

LWEnqyO.jpg

She's got Blackwall, she hasn't changed much personality wise.

Shari'El (I should change my name because I don't like her as much), Dalish mage, KE. Changed haircut, added a new scar (eyebrow scar), also reduced lips because CC lied to me and then her lips were MASSIVE, ugh.

nFnFOhy.jpg

She's lost Solas and that devastated her, she, indeed, steel her heart, after it was broken and stomped on. She was 21 at the beginning (meant for her to be older but she just.. looks.. so YOUNG), now 23, she changed her haircut to look tougher, but it's mainly an act.

Eldanehn, Dalish mage, rift mage. I'll probably add a scar (if I can) and fade a bit the other.

0q1EOc0.jpg

She'll lose Solas (obviously), she's 25-27(?). Haven't decided how much she'll change personality-wise.

For me when it comes to the Wardens, I have no strong opinions. A lot of the decisions in DAI I felt didn't have a 'wrong' ( as far as my opinion goes, not for actual consequences ) for me, it depends on my character.

For example, Amari Lavellan was a Mage and pro-Mage freedom, loving her culture. She also believed in the Maker (or rather believed that everyone had the right to believe in what they wished therefore she respects the Chantry) and was quite logical. This meant when it came down to the wardens she exiled them. They were exposed to corruption and she didn't know if Corypheus could still control them. She believes once the danger of Corypheus was over, perhaps she could invite them back to southern thedas. She nearly exiled Blackwall as well (not knowing the truth) but decided to keep him as a sort of test of that. Besides, they could handle one Grey Warden in Skyhold to the several that would be there with no exile.

However, My current character Arisinya will keep the wardens when I get to the choice simply put of kindness. She believes in forgiveness and believes they deserve a chance to prove themselves above corruption. There were good wardens who stood up against the corruption and she wouldn't be able to let that go. She is very niave in that aspect and usually prefers to take routes that lead to no sacrifice , pain or death.

Question: in dark future Redcliffe, does that timeline still exist? Time travel confuses me.

It's kind of paradoxical, if you manage to get back and change then it never happens, and since we do, it's kind of funny this entire saga happened D:

That depends if time traveling in Dragon Age creates parallel realities. The game gives every indication that dark Redcliffe never happened as a result of Dorian and the Inky traveling back to the moment they left. It'd be an interesting narrative device though...travelling to parallel Thedases. It's probably not where they're going to take things though...unless there was something to that "in another world" line. ;)

Kind of depends on how AU's work in Dragon Age.

If it's a single-stream timeline, then no, the Dark Future is gone, as the Inquisitor went back and put herself back into the world, which prevented it from happening.

If it's a branching timeline, then there's a world where the Dark Future happened, and then the Inquisitor blinked out of existence again as Corypheus desperately assaulted Redcliffe to get the Anchor back and save his candy ass from extinction by Breach.

This reminds me of the really disturbing way that Max uses the word 'real' in Episode Four of Life is Strange. The context of which was enough to color how I saw all of Solas and Cole's lines about 'being real', though that's still muddled by it seeming that they're talking about Fade spirits being grounded or something.

Time travel confuses everyone, even the Doctor.  There's probably specific sci-fi terms for the kinds of time travel I was just talking about. I wasn't overly fond of its entering Dragon Age

Yeah, time travel can be quite confusing.

The existence of that timeline, in my opinion, depends on whether we view time travel unidimensionally or apply the multiverse theory.

When time travelling in one single universe, the dark future Redcliffe timeline wouldn't exist anymore.

When a time traveller travels to a parallel universe instead, all options continue to exist simultaneously and the dark future timeline would still exist.

The multiverse approach makes a little more sense, because it avoids certain paradoxes that arise from travelling within one's own universe, but I think in the case of DAI, we travel back and forth in a single universe. Or not. I guess we shall never know.

So I'm playing Origins with the Dalish Elf Mod, figuring I'll have my devout Dalish Warden romance the daughter of Mythal and father a Tevinter Old God for a laugh.

Those bloody ruins in the Brecilian Forest still drive me up a wall. Tevinter architecture, elven artifacts, and what look like statues of Mythal in particular. An Eluvian, with what appear to be two humans with swords instead of the usual Dread Wolf or Momma Dragon. Enigmatic comments by Zathrian and the Elder Oak Tree about the real history of the place, and that 'they' brought destruction to the woods, not the humans or elves that lived there. And then the Arcane Warrior spirit, who was apparently fighting something else as well.

Can my Inquisitor phone a friend and have Mahariel ask Solas about the ruins and Hawke ask about the Primeval Thaig? And the Orlesian Warden why nobody at Bioware loves him?

Also, the mirror with the creepy demon voices. I want to get Mari to see if there's any hidden messages, Well of Sorrows style. And the underground city with a great darkness and a presence that senses and ensnares Tamlen sure isn't suspicious.

And we still haven't seen why Laidlaw referred to Merrill rebuilding that particular Eluvian as a bad move.  :o

But Merrill's repaired Eluvian is just hanging out in the Crossroads. Can Eluvians open up to multiple places? Like Kieran with opening it to the Fade instead of the Crossroads?

I'm picturing ancient elves fighting over the remote controls.

Either way, time travel is achieved once and unchanged in DAI. Fiona coming to see you at VR is completely removed from the timeline even if you side with the Templars.

So what would the other companions experience the moment Dorian and the Inquisitor went back in time? Especially those that died. The current timeline companions don't remember, but do the others sorta feel themselves going back? I suppose we have no idea actually, it's pretty farfetched .

Ever noticed something buggy about choosing the Mages? Even if you don't bring Solas, you can tell him you saw him there. Blackwall only gets that option if you brought him, but for Solas the option is always there.

Anyone else who played DA2 again after DAI for fun and could not take it seriously when Merrill was screaming when fighting '' MAY THE DREAD WOLF TAKE YOU!! ''

or when you visited her and she was like '' By the dread wolf!! Why is my house always such a mess! ''

something like that LOL

I remember when I played it I was just laughing every single time.  Like when she was like '' may the dread wolf take you '' I was like: '' I would surely let him take me ;)) or my lavellan.. ''

When Solas was first revealed, my thoughts went back to the tale of the Dread Wolf Merrill told my Mabari. I recently played DA2 again and listened closely to her tale this time. It was amusing!

How I did it? I uploaded the mod manager first. Then I went to the update folder and there I have two patch folders. One that is called ''patch'' and then the other one called sth like ''patch modmanager '' something similar to that.. anyways the merged patch.
I opened both of the patch folder and there are the files that are called ''package'' open it and you should be able to see '' patch -some number here- ''
now you need to change the regular patch folders number the same and save it as it is on the merged patch folder. After doing that I just installed the mods again with mod manager and they have been working for me.
