So I'm playing Origins with the Dalish Elf Mod, figuring I'll have my devout Dalish Warden romance the daughter of Mythal and father a Tevinter Old God for a laugh.
Those bloody ruins in the Brecilian Forest still drive me up a wall. Tevinter architecture, elven artifacts, and what look like statues of Mythal in particular. An Eluvian, with what appear to be two humans with swords instead of the usual Dread Wolf or Momma Dragon. Enigmatic comments by Zathrian and the Elder Oak Tree about the real history of the place, and that 'they' brought destruction to the woods, not the humans or elves that lived there. And then the Arcane Warrior spirit, who was apparently fighting something else as well.
Can my Inquisitor phone a friend and have Mahariel ask Solas about the ruins and Hawke ask about the Primeval Thaig? And the Orlesian Warden why nobody at Bioware loves him?
Also, the mirror with the creepy demon voices. I want to get Mari to see if there's any hidden messages, Well of Sorrows style. And the underground city with a great darkness and a presence that senses and ensnares Tamlen sure isn't suspicious.
And we still haven't seen why Laidlaw referred to Merrill rebuilding that particular Eluvian as a bad move.
But Merrill's repaired Eluvian is just hanging out in the Crossroads. Can Eluvians open up to multiple places? Like Kieran with opening it to the Fade instead of the Crossroads?
I'm picturing ancient elves fighting over the remote controls.
I'm out of likes, but that Dalish warden world state sounds legit.
With the eluvians leading to multiple places, Morrigan says that Kieran 'pointed' the eluvian towards the Fade and that act requires immense power to do so. She almost sounds like she wouldn't be able to do it, so she doesn't understand how Kieran did.
As far as things the ancients were fighting....isn't there a codex entry somewhere that you can interpret the Ancient Elves fight Titans?
We also don't know how old the Qunari race is do we? Who knows....maybe that sinner from way back in the day was the first Qunari, attempting to be a dragon and all.
That or darkspawn. If they were around back then. Plague was eating up Andruil's landz!
We need more juicy lore right about now.
*looks at calendar*
Tuesday. Hopefully some real lore bombs are dropped.
Ugh, I stayed up too late.
Four more days to go? Doesn't look like any new catastrophes overnight, so that's good!

No spoilers about them I promise, but there are many new codex entries to discover!

Isn't there a similar eluvian below the deep roads in Descent?
I have a question about DA:O for you. Have you been to the deep roads yet? Why are there so many Maferath's monuments, especially in places where the darkspawn are camping? It might be just a design choice, but I found it really suspicious. It seemed like they worshipped them.
@MayriyaNoori:
The Sinner as a Qunari, oh my word, that is very plausible. Wow. I bet we learn more soon, and hopefully those red eggs have something to do with it.
Why would Qunari belong to Dirthamen though..
Climax of DA4 :- Nug King vs Archdemon Deathmatch.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about it recently and it just kind of fits I think. I mean, it's still a shot in the dark sorta....but that bit of information is still open enough that it is a possibility.
The way I would see it going down would be something along the lines of Ghilan'nain trying to get back at Mythal maybe for what happened to Andruil....and she tried to make a dragon, soldier creature out of some follower of Dirthamen. Why Dirthamen? No clue.
Still doesn't absolve him of being partly responsible for what Corypheus does with the orb merely because he was arrogant. Plus why give someone an orb you need unlocked if you think they can't do anything with it?
If Solas is responsible for Cory's actions then my statement that Josie is a murderer stands. She knew what she was getting into when she became a bard.
Yeah this is what Mike said:
""We rummaged around in your files, and now you have to explain stuff we found" is not my favourite interaction here. Please don't do that."
Patrick also gave a warning:
"Spoilers. Also posting spoilers to me sans ROT13. You are now blocked."
If you see #ROT13 in a tweet, avoid it!
I love those guys.
Neither scenario matches Solas'.
But Inky is the leader of the Inquisition. Therefore, she is to blame for its actions - good or bad.
I agree. Him having conflict with continuing on with his mission or leaving it be after his time with the Inquisition makes him a compelling character, but that doesn't change what his actions have and most likely will(since we know this isn't the last we'll see of Solas) cause. He is still putting his people, whoever he is referring to, above the rest of Thedas including his friends and possibly the woman he loves. He has made his choices, and should have to face the consequences of them.
I operate with the data available. And with the data available, I see no scenario where what happened if the lesser of two evils.
Fine. If my character did something terrible, I would have no qualms with them being arrested. Just like I had no qualms with Shepard being imprisoned after killing over 300,000 Batarians and slaves in the Arrival DLC.
Seriously? Shepard wasn't saying 'I'm going to kill a bunch of batarians today'. She had to destory the relay to stop the Reaper invasion.
I'm afraid to go on any place else on the interwebz since I'm avoiding spoilers. This is my safe haven lol
I have made this blanket fort a sanctum of no spoilers and feels. Why do people threatern it?
Whoever is datamining should seriously stop.
This is starting to ****** me off.
I can't like at the moment. So I'm quoting to agree with this.
I'd like to suggest some specific temporary guidelines:
1. Obviously, no spoilers, or potential spoilers from some blighted dataminers, etc.
2. No emotional reactions to spoilers. Please? It just makes people nervous. Or maybe if you want to share and get some support you can post like this.
Emotional reaction from spoiler:
Spoiler
3. A warning to stay away from spoilers is probably fine but please put your emotional reaction under a spoiler tag.
Please for the sake of the blanket fort, consider these.

Or Shmooples vs Archdemon. It'd be nice if Shmooples is the PC in DA4
I for one welcome our new nug overlords.
Dirthamen ant Falon'din are super interesting to me.
I'm gonna be looking over those new mural paintings really carefully soon. New speculations, yay(?)!
.
I just replayed Dirthamen's temple with Solas and noticed that all mosaics there are Falon'Din's! Can't believe how I missed this before (this is my fourth Solavellan hellspiral). Every single mosaic shows a figure with shepherd's crook. There isn't a single one with Dirthamen.
Maybe Falon'Din and Dirthamen were literally one person before Falon'Din was struck down by other gods? Neat separation into "twin souls" to keep him in check?
Yeah there's a codex called twin in shadow which talks about it (can't link atm). I also like the elven glyph you find which unlock Dirthamen's temple. Something about a raven carrying a mirror and a heart (might be his ravens named deceit and fear).

I still think Dirthamen is Falon'Din's dragon like Cory's was his. Or ravens, whatever.
I kind of wonder if Falon'Din was a spirit and Dirthamen was an elf or something like that. Because for whatever reason Falon'Din was able to just be like "I'ma go into the Fade" and Dirthamen couldn't. At least not until he went and beat Fear and Deceit.
Here's the codex entry for it from the wiki.
I'm suspicious of this Gisharel guy though. I think we have talk about him before on this thread.

I always imagined there were variants of Halla, some made for riding like the big ones in DAO, and some they keep around one reason or another. Either that, or Bioware done-goofed with the scale size of the creatures.
It could be more metacommentary on purpose and change. Judging from the ancient murals, halla were likely created as beasts of war, to be ridden into battle against others of their kind. As the ages have passed, though, their original purpose has changed, and thus so have they: they're respected "members of the tribe" to the Dalish now, not war mounts, beasts of burden, or agricultural 'machines' used to pull a plow.
It's possible they've been unconsciously pet-ified, like making a toy poodle from a wolf. ![]()

"Maferath's monuments"? Can you give me a quick screenshot? I'm not sure what you're referencing, exactly.
It seems like Ghilan'nain got in between Falon'din and Dirthamen. Her mural is in Dirthamen's temple, along with his brothers.
And halla with wings would've been useful.

One of the theories over on the lore boards that they originally shared a body, before Mythal(?) trapped Falon'Din in the Fade as punishment for starting a war. There's definitely something weird about the relationship between the two. ![]()
Fingers crossed for massive Pantheon lore on Tuesday. ![]()

Pega-halla? Halla-sus?
They also have six legs for some reason.

Just to throw in some Sleipner from nordic mythology ^^ (but he had eight legs :/ )

That's completely different... Didn't that guy pull a knife on her? Making her actions self-defence.
Halla-sus, ha! Four legs for running, two for kicking enemies away in flight?
.
Last night, before I went to bed, I listened to some music and that certainly didn't help with the feels because I'm back to hellspiraling in two languages. ![]()
I was going to get my new end save last night but I started running around Skyhold, tried the wardrobe, and then began crafting armor and stuff for people. Then I thought I was ready to go fight Cory when I realized I should make Solas a different staff and maybe strip his armor accessories but by then I didn't feel like going back. And then that will really seal up my waiting. Sigh.
There's a pretty nice stats-wise rogue armor from The Descent but it looks horrible on non-dwarves. I put it on Varric. My Lavellan would look like Baymax wearing it.
