I don't get an impression that he's drunk. I can hear that he's pleased/excited that he's in the midst of the Game, watching court intrigue unfold - which he very definitely said he remembers now how much he enjoys it - but drunk? Eh, no.

I think he was playing it up a bit but the conversation later where he talks about being at court and you can call him out, I think he's definitely....affected.

I suspect it was an act, but he did say he was having his drinks refilled when asked lol so he might have indulged a bit too, just not as badly as it seemed.

Loki? No. At best Loki is similar to how elven lore sees Fen'Harel - someone who does mischief for the sake of mischief or for sewing destruction.
Prometheus (whose name translates to "forethought") on the other hand is far more likely an actual basis, especially seeing all the other similarities between Greek and elvhen panteon and their myths.
Prometheus was a Titan who sided with Olympians during Titanomachy, and they valued him for his wisdom and saw him as one of their own - similarly as Fen'Harel was accepted among both Creators and Forgotten Ones at one time.
He also acted against gods or tricked them not out of love of trickery, but to help people whom gods treated unfairly. Some myths even claimed that he saved humanity from being wiped by cruel gods. He's most famously known for bringing back fire to humans (which can be viewed both literally, or as a metaphor for knowledge/enlightement) - and what does Solas holds in his tarot card?
Yup. Fire.
Then there's the fact that Prometheus story is tragic - some may argue that Loki's is as well, but Loki got punished for a deed he's done which not only seemingly had no greater goal, but had sown much sadness and chaos. Prometheus on the other hand acted out of sympathy towards the downtrodden, and for that he paid the price of losing pretty much everything ("There are few regrets sharper than watching fools squander what you sacrificed to achieve").

Eh, I'd peg him at slightly tipsy, but not drunk. He's clearly had a couple of drinks - he says as much - but not so much to lose control of himself (that wouldn't be in character). I think it's also doubled up with getting excited at being the midst of court intrigue again. The Fen'Harel in him comes out a little, I think.

Yeah, no kidding. I think it's the atmosphere of the place that makes him a bit "drunk". I mean, even in Skyhold later - which I assume happens at least a few days after Halamshiral - he still sounds quite elated; so much in fact that he nearly outs himself.

It's very easy to give the impression of drinking a lot when you're not actually drinking.

I think he is... drunk with power? I think when he's a main player in some world-changing event, he gets really hyped, remembers the times when he was top dawg in Arlathan and becomes a little more Fen'Harel and a little less adorkable apostate hobo. The way he is at the Winter Palace is similar to his smug posture and smile at the end of Descent and how he talked in the post-Winter Palace conversation when he still had his smooth confident act on, even though he should've sobered up by then.
Just finished a public speaking thing (people + hall + podium + me = 
) and it went well.

I need to set up my endgame file today. And I see so many people making adjustments to their characters to reflect the time having passed but I don't think I want to. If there were nice longer hair options without mods then maybe. I love my Lavellan and now it actually looks like she bothered getting dressed in the morning when in Skyhold. 
The wardrobe outfit I chose also helps with the issue I had where Lavellans looked waaaay too spindly in the PJs. Proportions seemed off.

Falon'Din and Dirthamen are androgynous, erotic "brothers." I will accept nothing else.
Also, I would be careful ascribing mental disorders to characters we know from codex entries.
It's just schizophrenia. It doesn't actually work that way. And it is an incredibly depressing and sad thing to watch someone who suffers from it and it's really really really not cool.
I have to say that I am not really on board with the Falon'Din had schizophrenia scenerio....but if for whatever wild reason it turned out true Falon'Din would have my utmost sympathy because as Kissiebear said.......it's really not cool and it is indeed a very sad thing to watch someone suffer.
Like, Fen'Harel clearly has issues......but this would be a whole different ball park of feels to be honest.

I also wasn't specifying how someone should feel about them/him, if this was the case. Personally, he might have my sympahty, he might not. It would depend on the circumstances and what event/action I'm supposed to be offering my sympathy about exactly.
As for the correct term, if its not what we define schizophrenia anymore, then its something else. I think I saw disphoric personality disorder? Or something like that. Point is, you guys know the type of scenario I mean.
Having it as an explanation for the uncertainty around Falon'Din and Dirthamen's relationship would be an interesting scenario to me, was all I was saying.
