There's a city? I did not know this. Off to the wiki with me..
Technically the Winter Palace is supposed to be in the hills outside the city, at least if I read The Masked Empire correctly. Honestly not sure how far out in the hills we are talking, so not sure if you *should* be able to see the city from the palace. I thought so, though.
But yes, there is indeed an actual city. It was the elven capital when they ruled the Dales post-Andraste.

I did just post a story where my Lavellan has a nightmare where she's bitten by a (symbolic) snake. It must be snake week.

I wasn't expecting the wolf puppy to be so... strategically placed. XD
This does remind me of the earlier conversation of Solas adopting a wolf pup. I kinda really want that to happen. lol I settle for giving him the token of the packmaster, in game. Its really neat when it actually works and this wolf pack just shows up to walk beside you a ways. (and kill random forest creatures)
The growls still make me nervous though. I feel like the amulet will stop working and they'll turn on me at any moment. I'm hoping this is not foreshadowing. >_>

I just played the Temple of Mythal again since I didn't realize I'd deleted everything in my first playthrough from before that point (glad I looked now and not on DLC day), and I got to the part where we examined Falon'Din's mural. Solas told the story, and when Lady Lavellan said she had never heard that story, he replied that as the Dalish branch out, so do their stories; "never mistake it for 'true' elven culture."
Ouch. All I said was I'd never heard that story before--there's no need to take a shot at my people or my connection to them. 
I love Solas, but I sometimes I forget how how casually hurtful his off-handed remarks about "the Dalish" (i.e. "all Dalish, including you") can be. 
I've finished clearing most of the main game, got Descent and JoH and the odd sidequest before Temple of Mythal (I do everything before ToM as far as possible). 
How can you guys not like the gloominess of the Fallow Mire?

I have to agree. I really enjoyed Emerald Graves and The fallow Mire (although I did find the undead popping up from shallow waters at low levels annoying after the 1000th time, though once you unlock your specialization it's a cake walk (also hate terrors at low levels, one is easy, three is egregious). Great place to test new builds. I also very much enjoyed most parts of Emprise Du Lion as well as the Hissing Wastes and some of the Exalted Planes. Emerald Graves definitely takes the cake though (why do I keep using pastries for my idioms... I'm not even a cake guy 
)

about how my char will react at seeing Solas - Sge loves him , really loves him, in my mind she never stop searching for him, tho she kinda expect sad ending if she ever find him. She know something isnt right ( she not stupid and there enough clue) but she dont know what exactly, I think over the 2 years she really start doubting he ever love her , but she still want to find him , al least to get some answers , or so he can say that he dont love her and naver did so she can finally try to move on ( tho i dont see this happen) .
Tbh ill try to make playthrough with lavellan that get over Solas for this 2 years but ill most likely finish crying at his feet again.
My Tav. was good friend with Solas and respected him deeply, shes archer and despite being noble human she have a good hard and try hard to help everyone, and she adores Cole. As she dont have the romance point of view she not so aware there is something wrong untill he disappers. So she will be worried about him i can picture her saying - Solas you are alive thx the maker, where you've been are you alright.
As for the romances in the other games there few romances that can end badly but its the player choice. my Anders romnce didnt end badly - I run off with him. Even at my 2nd playthroufh where i romance Fenris ( and he became my main choice from now on) i didnt kill Anders, cuz i cant really blame him. If there is someone to blame its Justice.Well if anders didnt go on me - its my fault kill me pls which broke my heard 2 times ( even romancing Fenris Anders was my best buddy).
