Hmmm i just watch the conversation with Abelas again. And there few things that keep rubbing me the wrong way. Im sure this was already disused but the thread is too big to search/
So he says - It is not for you. It is not for any of you. I may be overthinking it but i have the feeling he mean Solas.
Also he said the the power the Inq have is familiar.
He says to elven Inq, that they are not out ppl, but dont deny Solas calling him lethallin.
And ofc -
Solas : there other places friend , other duties, your ppl still linger.
Abelas : Elvhen such as you?
Solas - Yes, such as I.
In combination the the facial expression .
So i think Abelas indeed knew who Solas really is.
And 2nd am I the only one bangin my had at the wall about the DLC name. Its called Trespasser, not Trespassers . As in 1 trespasser just a though, but the dlc name may come from something different than the qun invasion.

I personally think Abelas at the very least suspected Solas to be an ancient elf, and with the lack of vallaslin he recognised that if he was he would have been one of higher standing, but I don't know that he knew he is Fen'harel specficially.
I have a thought that Trespasser refers to the Inquisitor somehow. x) No evidence that's the case, just a thought.

Abelas says that same line, the first one you mentioned, even if Solas is not in the party. As for the rest of that conversation. I think Abelas just recognizes Solas as an ancient elf as well.
On DLC name: Trespasser is the Inquisitor, for travelling to places mortals had never been or something like that. I think heard that in one of the videos, not sure if the interview with Mike Laidlaw or the live stream from the game convention thing that I forget the name of when they officially announced the DLC.
edit: need to fix my source there, same answer really.
What does the name “Trespasser” refer to?
In the course of the story, the Inquisitor is going to be involving the Eluvians – the mirrors that can be used to travel between spaces. In a way, the idea of Trespasser is that you’re entering into some places that no one has gone for thousands of years, so you are “trespassing” in that space. There are some other meanings to it as well, but I will leave those for people to mull over and uncover on their own.
From an interview with mike laidlaw (read, not heard) here: http://www.gameinfor...n-pax-2015.aspx
sorry about that.

Well you are right he may just recognize him as an ancient elf and noble, just the part the have my attention is that Abelas says the power the Inq have now is familiar
Uuuuuh.... 3 days! So close yet so far!
you're smart
I agree with you on everything, but I also believe you are overthinking
these people are writers, not lore-junkies. The DA world revolves around morality and spirituality, and so everything that Solas has ever done or will do will follow his place in the world: the anti-hero characterized mainly by his contradicting traits of acceptance and disability to truly understand/trust beyond his own wisdom
Instead of thinking mostly in the context of circumstance, it might be more beneficial to think through the minds of the writer's and what they are trying to accomplish through his character.
Thanks for the compliment. but smart is relative. I rather the term knowledgeable, even if I'm not particularly knowledgeable.
As for them being writers, I see them as more than that. They're world builders. This requires an enormous amount of attention to detail as well as an ability to make every aspect of their creations come together cohesively as a narrative whole. The meticulousness demanded to achieve such a feat is essential in order to avoid continuity errors as well as fit every moving piece in the constantly evolving puzzle so things always come together smoothly when and where they need to.
There are "lore keepers" there for that very purpose. Just look up Leland Chee for a concrete example of how much work that takes.
A lot of people were already complaining about the errors made in WoT Vol.1 which were for the most part addressed in WoT Vol. 2.
Still with this expansive universe spanning millenia, things are bound to get lost in the shuffle.
As for what the world revolves around, well there are many themes, much of them taken from our world. David Gaider specifically states in WoT that he built his world like Fantasy grounded in our reality. Broad themes like socialism, faith, religion, persecution, corruption, racism, communism, war, historical inaccuracies and culture etc. are all touched upon, as well as more personal themes such as friendship, camaraderie, love and so on. To say the DA universe revolves around morality and spirituality is like asking a blind man to describe what the world looks like instead of asking him what is sounds like, what it feels like. There are too many core themes involved to limit the world created simply by summing it up with morality and spirituality.
"everything that Solas has ever done or will do will follow his place in the world"
How do you know this exactly and more importantly, are you sure you understand him as well as you think? We only have pieces of his past, nothing has been determined or told in a direct manner.
"the anti-hero characterized mainly by his contradicting traits of acceptance and disability to truly understand/trust beyond his own wisdom"
That doesn't make sense. by disability I assume you mean inability.
Even so, his traits are not contradicting. Solas is wise, yet arrogant. He cares deeply yet lets his emotions get the best of him. He believes his experiences give him the right to judge yet doesn't accept critique. He clings to the past and wishes to restore it, yet not as it was, for he has seen the results firsthand. He is knowledgeable yet has a hard time accepting knowledge gained from others, though he does not forsake it, again, his pride is powerful but he is a practical man. He was rash, but has tempered with age. He is slow to trust but once said trust is established, you can count on him to have your back (just not tell you the whole truth). As for him being an Anti-Hero, I'd agree given what we know now, but until we learn more of his plans and his actual role before the fall of Arlathan then this is a non-issue. What we can say for certain is that he has a noble heart and strongly believes in kinship and culture and will do whatever is necessary to restore them, even if the ends outweigh the means.
"Instead of thinking mostly in the context of circumstance, it might be more beneficial to think through the minds of the writer's and what they are trying to accomplish through his character."
The key to understanding lies within context. Why do you think so many frivolous arguments and conflicts arise throughout the world. Misinterpretation, a loss in translation, a lack of cultural familiarity, tone, it's all about context. People that don't look for it are conned when reading the text. You can't think through the minds of the writers, that would be overthinking. Use what you've been given to interpret meaning. If you understand characterizations, the narrative drive and narrative focus then you'll find what you're looking for. Overthinking has nothing to do with my theorizing. I analyze using what we've been given and what we know of characters or events. I do it because I like seeing how far I am from the mark. It's a fun challenge for me and the pieces to the puzzles are given to us by the writers for that exact reason. That's what great world building does. It pushes you to dig deeper, pulling you in with every new find. To familiarize yourself with the content while discovering nuggets of truth as well as easter eggs and more information pertaining to history is what I love in any awesome property.
A lot of people praise DA for the characters and I agree, but the world is what draws me in and makes the characters feel so awesome. The setting compliments them and let's them be interesting because of how it's affected them. Symbiosis. The same way great actors, a great script and a Great Director make an awesome movie, they flow in unison, unhindered by a weak link.
So, no, I don't believe I'm overthinking it. I appreciate your concern, but this is what I like doing with media that interests me ![]()

The power that Quizzy has is due to an ancient elven orb. Abelas is an ancient elf and a sentinel for an "elven god". I'm sure he can recognize that type of power rather quickly.
Uuuuuh.... 3 days! So close yet so far!
Tell me about it DX It's four days for me, what with living in Australia.
About the paradox: if there where parallel universes that could be mixed in asynchronous timing, would it still be a paradox?
About the Fade outside of time: If something is outside of time, it doesnt mean time is frozen, but actually there is no time at all. I think of it as a 4th dimension giant bubble that is shaped by actions in any 'linear' timeline, but because it is timeless the actions shape the whole bubble and can be seen from all other timelines. So if you look at it from a specific timestate (sorry for the word, i dont know how else to say it, hope its understandable) , you may see it taking a new form, because of a future action that is shaping it, but you can still see the result of it
Does that mean that love goes through the Fade?
So I was running around Valammar earlier trying to find the last mosaic pieces I've ignored until now... and... did anyone else take note of the gold elf-type statues tucked in the vault?
Spoiler'd for size. Nothing to do with the upcoming DLC.
Spoiler
Looks like golden Fen'Harel statues, some Flemeth-ish looking woman with wings, and the owl things we see all over the place. I thought it was interesting, especially since I hadn't seemed to notice them before. Clearly. Since I also didn't notice the mosaic piece.
Closeup pic of the Flemeth-ish woman:
Spoiler
And so my journey through DAI is over, end-game done, waiting for Tuesday. Sigh.
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but the winged woman is a common Orlesian motif.
I've seen the same element used in fountains as well, though I can't remember whether those were in Val Royeaux, Viv's house, or somewhere else. A variation on the theme also forms the back of the Orlesian-style Inquisitor throne.
Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't a link to Andraste or Mythal! Just that the Dwarves don't seem to be hiding evidence, just hoarding valuables.
To be honest, as fascinating as some of these can be I can't help but wonder how much of it is just recycling resources and don't, in fact, mean anything exciting. x) I guess we'll never know though.
Does that mean that love goes through the Fade?
I would hope so! ![]()
Do you think that perhaps Fen constructed his own smear campaign to try and confuse his enemies? Take a look at that name on some of those Dalish codices;
"as told by Gisharel, Keeper of the Ralaferin clan of the Dalish elves". Some of us have suspected that something wasn't right with those tales.
Perhaps one of the reasons why Solafen is disappointed with the Dalish is that they follow the lies he sowed. He says that he tried to teach the Dalish but they did not listen to him. And now he screwed himself over while trying to dodge his enemies.
Fun fact! Gisharel Ralaferin is actually an anagram for "A Liar Rigs Fen'Harel".
...of course, "Fen'Harel Rigs A Liar" is just as valid.
So much for useful anagram hints.

Flemeth had made predictions about Loghain in The Calling. She also said in DA2 (upon meeting her for the first time) "Is it fate or chance? I can never decide."
Then Sandal says (in DA2) " The old lady is scary. She has a scary laugh", and Bodahn says that Sandal "says he saw an old lady standing by his bed". There is something similar that happens in DAI; an elven servant in Val Royeaux tells his master that a woman talks to him in his dreams and that her name is Mythal.
One other thing of note is that Flemythal tells Morrigan "In this place, my power is greater than yours." when you are in the Fade looking for Kieran. Therefore, I think Mythal and/or Flemeth is a Dreamer. Or maybe both? Which means that not only can she affect people's dreams but she also has visions.
By the way, I like your theories and analyses. Keep 'em coming!
Oh wow. I just realised. Sandal was dreaming about Flemythal. But Bodhan would've thought that Sandal imagined an old lady in his room because dwarves have no concept of what dreaming is like.

That exchange is the best evidence for Team Lone Wolf.
I just complimented Lelianas shoes. I do that with my real life friends. So annoying. She didn't have to get all whatever about it.
Actually, I'll get into trouble for saying this but I've never really been a big Leliana fan.
Fite me IRL, Ave.
After school. Behind the gym. You. Me. My fists.
*menacingly blows a bubble with gum*
You're on, woman.
Nothing wrong with chatting!
I know! It's amazing how long that Blight lasted! The fifth one was a record-breaker for shortest Blight ever! We as the players were just that good! Lol j/k
You guys ever get Solas' banter when you near the mine with the OG? Why is he so bitter at Wardens for trying to slay Archdemons?
I did it late at night too and Cole sounded like he was trying to read me a bad scary story around the campfire! "It knows we're here!"Sadly the atmosphere loses the creepy factor when you step outside into the bright sunlight! Should have been nighttime for that one!
I thought the daylight horror added a lot to the atmosphere. But I'm a sucker for horror taking place where you think you're safe (Fog World Silent Hill>Other World Silent Hill).
Since we're talking locations:
Favourite area: The Emerald Graves. By far the prettiest area in the game.
Least Favourite Area: The Oasis aka Super Mario Shard.
Creators i hate the Oasis, at first i found it beautiful then i get lost 1000000000 times and i was - eh ****. This time im not getting there before i get ALL shards
