Aww that is so sweet!! I know some Swedish but I am VEERY bad at it still :( I never had someone who could help me too well and my teachers sucked so badly. But I can say some sentences haha You are so sweet! And I did not know that cinnamon roll's were also like national/traditional in Swedish! I wonder if Finland has learned it from there because Finland was part of Sweden for a long time. I know that they do not know in other European countries very well what they are haha.

Jag heter Janika vad heter du? Jag kan tala lite svenska. Hur mår du? Hur gammal är du?

omg I just feel like that I suck so badly.. I feel embarrassed. XD I understand more than I can speak or write :D

Those were completely correct sentences so you're not that bad!  ;)  Jag heter Antonia, jag kan ingen finska alls :) Jag mår bra, men det regnar här just nu :?  Jag är 25 år  ;)

I think it's really fun to see how the Solas love has spread to all corners of the world. Bioware really has done an amazing job in making this game and joining us all in glorious hellspiralling

Looks like Solas thread is pretty diverse :P love it ~

How are you going to play the DLC? Any plans?

With a bottle of red wine on hand, I suspect.

My best friend is coming to visit the day after the 8th, and it'll probably launch in the evening BST time, so I'm going to have to restrain myself around him (he knows nothing about how deep I've fallen in love with this game), OR somehow cram the whole of descent in tuesday night/wednesday morning, OR avoid it until Friday.

halp plz.

Cinnabon is the food of the Gods, if you're willing to shorten your lifespan a bit.   Such a tasty, tasty trade-off, though.

Are those... sesame seeds on your cinnamon rolls?   :crying:

Huh.     It just struck me that almost no one in the U.S. would contract the "I have" rather than the "have not".  We go with "I haven't played" every single time- even though the alternative is perfectly valid English.

...or screw 'valid', more English than American English.   :D

Two days.  Not going to make it.   Grip on sanity getting weak.   Weeeeak.   Weeeeekes.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekes -shaking fist-

I'm dying!

My mother is visiting for the long weekend and she just offered a sure-fire cure for my cold that I used to have as a kid. Boiled eggs!

I can't imagine a world without tea... I love my tea. It gives me comfort.

(I think I'll make some tea later...)

I already drink tea from my mammoth 750 ml tea cup (<- only drinks tea from giant tea cups)

I enjoy such teas as well :) One of my recent favorites is some sort of tea that claims to help with digestion, but I drink it mostly for taste (mint, coriander, caraway, fennel, turmeric and ginger. Strange combination for tea - or tisane, rather - I know, but the taste is weirdly satisfying)

^_^ Sunflowers happen to be my mom's favorite flower, hence I have a few 'sunflowery' items as well, since I associate them with good things :)

I love the ginger and peppermint ones! Mine is a lot more bitter, but I guess anything that helps make you healthy has to taste bad lol my taste buds have a thing for sweets and spices mostly.

Solas would seriously hate us

I learned English by watching Cartoon Network. I also learned it in school but it was 95% Cartoon Network.

Cartoons, video games and browsing the internet = best English teachers ever. And I know what I'm talking about, I'm an English teacher!! héhé

Here in France EVERYTHING is dubbed on TV, it's terrible. That's why I already show my 2 1/2 year old daughter films and cartoons in English. Same thing for my husband who is also forced to watch films in English, with subtitles though.

I saw you were all talking about the most famous pastries in your countries. Well, you won't be very surprised by mine:

Grrr the wait till Tuesday is killing me!! And what kills me the most is that next week is my worst week at work with all the back to school parent/teacher meetings almost every evening... When am I going to find some time to play?? Raaah!

There was a time it felt like the Solas thread was mostly full of Americans. Glad to see it doesn't feel that way now, people are coming for all around the world to worship the egg :3

In my country you don't learn English, English learns you

Except not, since I don't live in Russia.

What do you mean?)

I learned English by playing Mass Effect 1 ('cause russian version was terrible) and reading Game of Thrones, both was tough at first, but I managed)

I always hated that about France: obligatory dubbing every-frigging-thing in the world on all TV channels (except for Arte, thank god for their existence). It was such a refreshing thing for me to discover when I was little, while on holidays at the very east of France, very close to Switzerland, to see movies and TV shows being broadcasted on French Switz TV in dubbed version AND original version at once, and that people could CHOSE which audio version they wanted. And that on top of that, people had access to subtitles as well. It literally took YEARS for France to make that awesome option available on our French channels.

Not to mention, 90% of the time, French dubbing makes everything sound aweful, and just downgrades the quality of shows that would otherwise be so much better if seen in their original version with original voices.

If I ever have children, it's already planned on my list to speak to them in both French & English since birth, and to make them watch stuff in original versions as much as possible. My little niece has a French dad and a Chinese mum who speak to each other in English. It's fun and amazing to see her learning 3 languages at once.

Let's see...  my mother is German and my father is American. I lived in Germany for a couple years when I was really little but I grew up here in America. My parents tell me that I didn't speak any English until I was about 5.  Now I can only speak a little German but I understand a lot of it. I took German classes in high school which seemed to help me remember a lot.

Sometimes I will watch something in German or play a game that has some German in it and then I have random German words stuck in my head for days.

Yeah..I just felt like sharing this information.

btw...Solas!!

We don't have dubs. Instead, we have this very strange thing called 'lecturers' - basically, one person is translating over the original language of movie or the show. That way we can still hear original sound underneath, but have everything 'talked over' with one, pretty serious voice

(those of you who played Witcher - the man who did the Polish voice for Geralt, Jacek Rozenek, is one of rather well-known Polish lecturers and voices... and the guy has one heck of a sexay voice^^)

Spoiler

I heard from people who first learned of the way we translate our TV stuff as being really weird, and I can imagine that for those how aren't used to t, it's probably really jarring - but it's been like that here since forever and for us this is the norm :D

Haha, it's actually pretty normal for us :D When I happen to use Polish in company of someone who's non-native (usually English-speaking people) quite often they're like... 'woah, you speak so quick!'.

I think it may be because Polish is a 'sharper' or more 'angular' language than English - lots of hard consonants, and 'rustling' sounds - which probably make it seem like we talk fast :)

Also, this :D:
