True! I've been tempted by Josie on every single playthrough - I wish I'd gone for a warrior instead of another mage, now! I quite like the idea of a lovely knight in shining armour - literally - for her, it's what Josephine honestly deserves.

 

Argh, decisions, decisions.

 

I'm going for the dashing rogue for Josie myself. A tough man who knows the cruelty of the world, for he has lived it and only the gentle heart of a certain antivan beauty can save him from himself!

I'm not sure I'll fare well if our romance is only ever devastating but other's end up with a wedding and all the happiness in the entire world.

Like if there's some "Yay I can marry Cullen weee'", here I'll be like:

 

Sure, I guess the most boring and overrated characters truly deserve a happy ending.

Maybe I shouldn't be so mean.

You really are mean, but that's ok xD Cullen is nice and his romance pretty much helped me after two Solavellan playthrougs in a row, 'cause in his romance there is calmness and certainty. And you know for sure that he won't go anywhere leaving you crying like a little baby))) But it would never give you the FEELS, and thats what I personally love about Solas romance. And I'm definitely sure we will get that from Solas in Trespasser. It's not everything, of course, and probably other romances will get more than that (also exactly that situation was in the game, 'cause you can't even kiss Solas whenever you want while every other romance have that), but for me it's still worth the pain)

What Josephine sees... A tall, stalwart, noble-hearted knight and shining armor with a winning smile, courtly grace, and Josephine's favor tied to her wrist as she bravely battles foes in the frey.

 

What everyone else sees... A Minotaur from Hell in blood- and sweat-soaked armor, shield-bashing and head-butting the stuffing out of everything, with fire in her eyes and smoke snorting out her nostrils.

 

I think Josephine's pretty happy.

I think every romance in DAI has the potential for a bad ending, and while I won't ever romance Blackwall and don't see Cullen's appeal I will be the last person to say anyone else should have to worry and suffer. Even Josephine's has the possibility of ending up in heartbreak. Any character can die, but more practically in her case she might go through with the noble marriage unless you play a noble yourself because status and caring for her family might outweigh any love she might have for you. Cullen's addiction could certainly get the better of him. No one is safe.

 

And while I am sitting here hoping to not get an absolute crappy ending with Solas, I will still say that problems or tragedy as an outcome for any story is valid and acceptable if done well and with consideration. These words may come back to haunt me Tuesday.

On another note, gif reactions are great! 1. How would your Inquisitor react towards Orlais' and Ferelden's claims that their power threathening the world and their organisation being nothing but poisenous? 2. How would they react towards seeing Solas for the first time? 3. What would they tell him? 4. How would they reacto towards seeing their companions again? 5. How would they react to saving the world yet again?

Anyway, speaking of Solas...Since he is bald...and he is an Elf which means he will have sparse or no body hair...Does this mean when he shapeshifts into a Wolf, he becomes a furless wolf ? You all know the Sphynx Cat ? What if Solas looks like that in wolf form ?

Patrick to Solas romance

Off-topic question guys: Do any of you have a glitch where a crafted weapon with no handle slot appears with a double handle from a different model? Like... any of the Hakkon weapons with a basic handle after being crafted?

Isn't that what they already did to Lavellans though? 

 

I mean, ours is the only race that can accidentally slaughter all our family and friends in the race-specific war table missions, and ours is the only love interest that leaves no matter what. 

 

Not to mention DAO, where only the female Cousland could make Alistair king and remain with him without altering his moral compass or becoming his dirty little mistress, and only the Human Nobles in general could become king/queen by the end (even though the Dwarf Noble was first in line for their own kingdom's throne before being tricked/framed for murder, and can clear their name during the game). 

 

They kind of seem to be on a roll with screwing over an entire race of PCs while humans (or everyone else) gets a happy ending, which is why I worry. 

 

Those are all things that depend on the choices you make in game, not things that will inevitably happen. Even for Solas leaving, choosing to romance Solas is still a choice.

Gosh, it's bad enough that we have to suffer    No, I don't wish for anyone else to suffer either. But I do wish we had fair treatment from the devs in the romance department. Or close to fair would be good. Not, rip-your-heart-out-and-stamp-on-it despair on the one hand, and fluffy-romantic-cuddles-while-gazing-at-the-sunset on the other... DAO was much happier in that respect.

If you want guaranteed fluffiness, Josephine is your woman.   There's no way they'll do anything to her character, she'll be the charming funny swan princess of awesome. I predict in Tresspasser my fem Trev warrior will marry her in a fairy tale wedding of which all of Thedas will speak for years. I will be using that playthrough to heal my heart after Solas is done. 

 

I really wish I could romance Josephine, she's the only other romance I'd be interested in aside from Solas. Unfortunately I only play one character throughout all my playthroughs, even if I do explore different options sometimes with that character. And I could never not romance Solas, and I would never romance Josephine on the side, it just seems... wrong.
