This is sort of off-topic but I made the mistake of using my real name on twitter and some of my husband's family just followed me... they already knew I like games but I don't think they knew how much   They may also be caught off guard by my, uh, appreciation of the female characters  Is it time to make a new account or just stop tweeting about Dragon Age?!

 

Sorry to all the people who wanted Varric as an LI   And also hugs for those of you going through rough times right now, like Amu, Kimberly, Phate, and whoever else I may have missed

Well I did not expect the Varric not a LI confirmation to come out of the blue like that. I feel so sorry for the Varric fans, because they've been patient for sooooo long and have always been utter sweethearts  .But this makes Solas more likely as a LI too and it feels unfair to feel good about that, argh feelings!! I don't know what to do with you!!! *shakes fist*

Yes this! I'm straight and have no problem appreciating the female form. I plan on romancing Josephine with a female. I never play males in games if I have the choice. The only male I am playing will romance Dorian. Cuz Dorian

Man... Now I keep switching frantically between this and the twitter thread like a person obsessed. Hopefully we'll get some more official confirmation soon, else there goes me being productive at all today...

And yeah, i do feel bad for the Varricmancers as well. They're a sweet bunch, and for the announcement to be dragged out this long was pretty crappy. Its one thing to let people continue to hope for a character they haven't even met yet, but the Varric fans already got to know and get attached to him before wanting him as an LI, so somehow it seems worse. I really am sorry, guys. Even though i wasn't into him personally, i had hoped for all your sakes.

It's bittersweet because I'm really happy that most signs are pointing to Solas being a LI, but I can't be overjoyed because I hate seeing people upset. ; ; We all knew there were going to have to be disappointment in two of the remaining fanbases, but wow so random and out of the blue x_x I'm really sorry guys

Ahhhh Lspan ahhh! Well, I personally try and keep family/friends things separate from internet friends things. I guess if you're already found out you could just carry on? Otherwise, I'd ditch that account for a new one. (That or change the focus of the one attached to your name and make a second for more willy-nilly things.)

While I feel bad for the Varric fans, this make me very hopeful for Solas' status as an LI.  Like others have said, I just don't see Blackwall as the LI type.  Also, currently all the male LIs available to women are warriors.  I would love to have a romancable mage I don't have to role a male!quisitor for (that said, I'm also rolling a male!quisitor for Dorian, and another for Cass).

Ok, it makes me more than a little nervous but I'm going to try to just carry on with business as usual.  I identified as straight for the majority of my life but I'm not sure how accurate that was, and some of his family members are super narrow-minded and judgmental but they live far away so hopefully it won't be a big deal.  Hehe Kimberly, Dorian convinced me to try playing as a male too!  I think it'll totally be worth it (...those puppy dog eyes )

Eeeee yeah I'm used to keeping things separate so it scared me when it seemed like the two worlds were colliding.  I mean, my immediate family is aware of how I am about this stuff (for the most part) but my in-laws aren't and they already treat me like I'm weird/crazy

 

@Tamyn, how long does it normally take you to complete a piece like your current Cole/adorably hooded Solas art?  I can't wait to see more

I'm really glad that I have never encountered these types of Varric fans.

 

I know there are going to be a lot of people hating on Solas if/when he is announced because that locks out their supposed favorite as an LI but I think we should all give the romances a chance. Bioware has been really good about making interesting romance arcs and they all have their own great stories behind them. So, even if Solas isn't romanceable (I doubt that), there will be other quality ones out there. I think once people are really playing the game, their tunes will change.

I think that the devs just don't want to give us the satisfaction of being right.  Most people having been thinking Solas and Viv are the last two LI's for some time now.

 

Viv just makes sense based on the numbers, and Solas always made sense based on his race.

What's funny is, is that for all my talk of romancing only Dorian, I am so enthralled by all three choices that I will more than likely end up romancing the first one I have a serious conversation with. Dorian, Solas, Iron Bull, it's all up to fate now. I think it'll mainly depend on who I pick up first.
