This happened to me too. Took four hours to get my Lavellan situated.

at which point it began acting out, couldn't equip anything in my inventory, actions occur way later than the keys I pressed (makes combat suck), conversations have massive pauses in them, and it's a pain to do anything.

I never even got that far. Crashed upon loading at war table. I had to reinstall, leave, go to another zone, come back, blah blah blah.I'm on xbox.

Nah, I am super ok with this. I didn't go in with any expectations, and from the looks of things I got exactly what I felt was lacking in Inquisition's first ending, which was a) an explanation and b) a "WELL I'M GONNA HUNT YOU DOWN AND SAVE YOU, YOU IDIOT" option.

 

Mostly I was afraid that Solas was going to completely go off the deep end and deny he ever felt anything for Lavellan and put on the figurative darth vader mask o' evil. Redemption I can work with. Bioware's generally pretty good to their redeemed villains.

 

Also, this is just such a cool story. The Inquisitor, knowing everything, tells the love of her life that she's going to work against him to save him. And he, in his heart of hearts, really wants her to succeed. That is romantic gold right there. Varric could spin that into the best novel of his career.

 

And the whole, "Solas watches Lavellan in her dreams" thing was so adorably poignant. And it keeps them connected. So, all in all, I'm satisfied.

 

Basically, my headcanon was the Inquisitor telling solas that she was going to keep following him, so he would always know that he wasn't alone, even if he was too stubborn to let her come with. And Trespasser is scarily close to that.

I'd just like to say  - to anyone who hasn't purchased the DLC yet - please do. It's really, really worth it.

Great writing, lots of dialogue, amazing Solas content.

 

(just finished it, broke my heart all over again, but that's SOLAS!) Now, if they only fix the animation bugs...

If you played a male mage Inquisitor who was a good friend to Solas, it seems to me that Solas ends up becoming someone like Magneto. A bald Magneto.

At the same, your Inquisitor becomes Charles Xavier. An amputated Charles Xavier.

Then at the end, if your Inquisitor is kind to Solas, he says "Let us save our friend from himself." I can imagine Charles saying to his X-Men "Let us save Erik from himself."

I can handle that at least. Still wish we had more than just, 'being watched over', but oh well. Weekes is sure going to receive a lot of dissatisfied and 'un-intrigued' Solas fangirls on his doorstep.

Had to split play and work for a while so just getting to the council itself now. But the DLC couldn't have started sweeter or fuzzier before they send us into the feels pit.

Exactly. This is a story I can get behind. Those are some incredible emotional stakes. The stinger was a real "**** yeah!" moment.

yea same with a clear patch i can get through it but i cant load my saves without mods so i have to restart over with no mods:(

My billing issue has been escalated in order to fix it. I now have to wait for an email telling me "It's fixed, you can buy now"

 

I'm going to headcanon this as Solas somewhere in the Fade manipulating my billing transaction because he doesn't want to face my Lavellan and her tears.

I'm not being funny but Solas has already destroyed the world once. His own world, that he clearly loved deeply. I doubt he really gives much of a **** about a world of races and ideals that he simply does not connect with.

 

Anyway, I'm really conflicted about this because I actually think I want Solas to succeed, haha. I don't know what it is, but Arlathan has a very real Atlantis feeling about it, and I find it so fascinating and mysterious. I kind of want there to be an option of 'meh, I'll see how this pans out...' instead of 'NO YOU'RE WRONG' or 'NO YOU'RE RIGHT' haha.
