There is no doubt in my mind, none at all, that we will -in some form- be able to continue to play our Inquisitor. First of all, like I said yesterday in the spoiler thread- can you imagine the straight PRESS BW would get for having a disabled PC? With prosthetics??? Who can do basically everything that someone who isn't disabled can do? My Lavellan was sort of nonchalant about losing the arm, so no big deal. She'll get Dagna to make her an awesome arm and she can still shoot her bow no prob. I think it would be awesome if you could CHOOSE to be EITHER your PC from Inquisition or you could choose to be someone new, maybe someone hired by your Inquisitor. I know what the devs SAID. Awhile ago. But I can't believe they set this up like this to have a totally new PC without any involvement from your Inky. No way no how. Nope nope nope.

 

And what's more, is I think they will announce it sooner, rather than later, and there's no way it's gonna take another four years. I get that they have Andromeda coming out (which some people have moved to, for sure) and they have secret new IP, (which I'm going to pretend is DA 3.5 and they're just keeping it really secret and then they'll drop it like Beyonce), but as soon as the writers have finished main work, some who want can come back to Dragon Age, right? And we have no idea how long they have been working on new IP, just that some writers have recently gone over to keep themselves in a paycheck- but whatever. I'm holding to hope 2 + years, maybe, and they'll announce it long before. They practically already announced it at the end of DA. And Leli, Cassandra, Dagna- all seem to know what INky is up to- it was such a throw back to the first inquisition scene and now I'm really just rambling but I don't care I'm so full of all the feelings today.

While I'd love to play as a disabled character (makes me want to roll a stabby rouge so I can pull a Ranfan from Fullmetal Alchemist and have blade on my prosthetic arm) I don't see Inky being the protag of DA4.  Mostly because we're moving to Tevinter and I'd love the chance to play a native of the Empire.  I still think Inky is going to be a huge part of the series, thoug

I think you're quite right about the future PC, sadly. Too bad, but I'm sure she'll indeed take a huge and important place in this world. Even though I personally disbanded my Inquisition cause it felt like the right thing to do.

 

And I edited my message, thank you. Don't hesitate to go all tumblerina on me at any given times, and fix my mistakes if there are any, it is appreciated. (Plus the new version is so much better now ;D)

It's a bug. Already confirmed on Twitter by Patrick Weekes. Won't impact our keep saves.

They'll get over it. Or leave, whatever, and it'll be back to normal. Once people calm the **** down and think about it, like rational adults, I'm sure they will come to see the storytelling potential- not just with Solas in general but with that romance. Everyone's emotional states are just...fragile. Hopefully people will stop taking it so damned personally and learn to enjoy the ride.

Random thoughts:

 

- Krem and the bard is love.

- Sera & Dagna is the best.

- Cullen and the mabari is cute as hell.

- Spa scene with Vivienne was very funny!

- Gaspard mentionned as being on the throne while I hate him, killed him and put Celene+Briala on the throne = Bioware WTF?

- Dorian aka almost BFF leaving was a hard one.

- Cole aka ultimate BFF leaving, was the hardest. He's the only one who loves Solas with my Lavellan.

- Cole giving huge approval for wanting to save Solas. Cole knows what's up, he knows so much more than everybody else.

- That DLC was pretty as hell. The fights, the murals, the sceneries. I was beyond pleased about it, and in awe.

- Solas is the most problematic faves of all my problematic faves. Still love him to bits.

- I wasn't much surprised by his plans, because it was something I had foreseen since the end of DA:I. Still hurt like a MOFO.

- My Lavellan doesn't want the world she knows to end, but she still wants to save Solas.

- I hope next PC is Inquisitor again. Playing a disabled character would be awesome. Plus the Lavellan story doesn't feel complete, and she's the most vital piece in looking for the sorry ass of an elf that Solas is.

- She also has the strongest power to fck his plans up: his love for her.

- Ending cards about Solas watching over her in her dreams were the most fanfiction thing ever. Still made me feel all mushy inside.

- All my companions had relatively happy endings. That made me feel all happy despite SOLAS.

- I'm tempted to play a Lavellan that will just want to watch the world burn, and help Solas in his plans. Sadly, pretty sure the game won't allow us too.

 

- Basically, my Lavellan is going to be the Sailor Fcking Moon of Thedas. She has a purpose, and she won't give up on it. I'm ready for the next installment, and can't wait for it.

im not sure whats wrong with the ppl , i though this scene will make ppl like Solas more not makes them hate him more wtf, for me i love him even more now after i was finally able to see all his pain . If you ask me they are crazy.

Seeing human Cole kiss a grown woman...Well, my male Inquisitor felt like a dad who is proud to see his son all grown up and dating...I'm sure Varric is proud too...To me, Krem belongs to the Chargers. Hi guys, I've been staying away from the forums because I have been trying to deal with the feels leading up to release of the DLC. I finished Trespasser and holy ****. This makes me pumped as hell for the next Dragon Age game. I hope it comes out in the next couple of years! I have so many feels and excitement.

When one of the devs said (on the Solas romance), "You may not walk away completely satisfied, but you will walk away utterly intrigued" they were right. Though, I am honestly pretty happy with it in terms of the overall story, maybe not the happiest ending for the romance, but it seems like it leaves room for stuff to happen later on; like you can fight to help/save him. It's clear that Solas DOES still love the Inquisitor, but he has resigned himself to what he has to do and leaves you thinking you will have at least a little while of peace before the mark kills you. I will definitely need to play other Inquisitors and see what each sets up the next world as.

Oh, and the credits? Yeah, don't skip it because it is funny, omg. My poor little baby Inquisitor though...I can wait to see what happens to her in the next game as well since

Krem is still part of the Chargers, and still Bull's second in command.  He just has a girlfriend to come back to now.

 

Speaking of the Bard: I laughed so much when Sera Was Never started up at the end of Sera's scene and she smashed the lute. 'Creepy song is CREEPY.' (Dagna totally hums the song when she's working though)

I've been thinking about the Trespasser title, and I think it refers to Solas.  It goes back to Shartan's 'neither a visitor or trespasser' riddle.  Solas' home is gone, and he is the trespasser in our time.  If he accepted modern Thedas as 'home' then things would be better.

Oh my god! I was spoiled, as I was following this morning while I was at work and Sunny was sending us back tidbits from it. But it's so much better experiencing it the first time. I'm going to take my Lavellan back through again, maybe try to figure out some of the puzzles that I didn't get, but my first impression is basically just awesome excitement for the future. I am super hype and this DLC alone is the best they have ever done. (I didn't play ME). It was story heavy, amazing combat, puzzles, amazing beautiful places (I especially loved the last place we go, so beautiful, I wanted to explore it), and the nighttime fortress area. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I asked for meaningful story and a good time and I got both in SPADES. The characters were perfect, were totally amazing and...Solas...

 

On Solas

God. I can't even start with this guy. I don't know what I was expecting but I was expecting it would be amazing and bittersweet and heartbreaking and it was everything I could have asked for and more. He didn't screw me over, and neither did Bioware. Well, I guess he technically did Lavellan a little but I don't care because of the story! This is what had to happen for the story and I can't wait to see where the team takes it. He was very different though, wasn't he. Such a sad, misguided person. I don't think his story could ever end on a happy ending, but I don't think my Lavellan is going to give up on him, not ever. She doesn't want to go with him, she loves her friends and the world she tried to save (a few times), but she wants to prevent him from hurting anyone, and from hurting himself. He doesn't understand and she's going to do her damnedest to try to make him see.

 

Oh man, but why seal the breach to begin with? Wouldn't that have torn the veil anyway and accomplished his goals just the same? I don't know. In any case I loved it, I love him, he's still my favorite character, and he's just so...he's got so many problems and so many emotions and he's so well written. I have a lot of feelings about this. I'm not being very eloquent because I'm more or less hungover, tired, and stuck at work for nine hours before I can go play again. I don't feel betrayed by him, my Lavellan just has sheer determination now. I don't hate him- how could I hate such a person? Lavellan loved him- loves him, and will save him, and the world if it's the last thing she does. It might be, but she'll die trying. I don't know that he'll get a happy ending- how could he, after what he's done, but he may get a chance to redeem himself and get a bittersweet ending, and that's good enough for me.

The Mark is harmless now. He spared your life before he kills you when he tears down the veil. He wants everyone at peace when it happens. That's why he stopped the Qunari from invading. He knew long ago it was going to happen. I think Bull was actually sent as a spy but we can change him. Scary thought now that I think about it!

Um, in my game he literally says the mark will kill me and he is sorry before leaving, and then I have no arm in the next scene because clearly my Inquisitor went, "Nope, **** that I gotta go find this bald idiot before he hurts himself" and cuts it off to save herself...So, if there is a way to NOT lose an arm that's cool I guess, but it sounds like from other people's posts that what is meant to happen.

The scene is done oddly. The implication is Solas removes the mark from your arm, and in the process the mark burns up the arm. I don't think it was intended to be a brutal removal- he does like you. But when Solas walks away you still see that you have the arm. So I don't know if there's spell effects that are supposed to be playing or not, or budget just intervened.

Less painful to remove it that way lol and no you will always lose your arm. It's the only way to live and stop him from killing you later

I don't even know what words to use. I want to talk about things... but I feel like I'm still absorbing it all. Plus.. I'm at work running on about 3 hours of sleep.

"You may not be satisfied but you will be intrigued." might be the most truthful thing I've ever heard from Bioware. Yeebles. I am not happy, as far as my character goes, but as a player I am content and excited to see where things lead.

Despite the absolute lack of any of the endings I thought I wanted (happily into the sunset, if I'm being honest) I'm content. What sorcery is this? Content, and even in a place where I think I could, if it came to it, kill Solas and have a very heartbroken Lavellan and still be okay (alright not "okay", but probably I would live) with the way things played out. Bioware writers, man.

I want to save him, of course. Saving and happy endings times a billion please.

I'd love to continue as my Inquisitor. I like her a lot. I expect more likely she'll be an important NPC. Perhaps we're one of the "new people" she'll find? Whatever happens, I HOPE she's present for whatever the culmination of Solas' story is.

Nah, his eyes glow when he stops the first Anchor 'attack' in his presence and the arm wasn't stone then. Same wit h a 'friendly (non-romanced) option -  the scene is different, his eyes don't glow, but his hand does when he reaches to do something above Inquisitor's left hand. Till the cutscene fades to black, the hand seems to be there, so there's no really a way of telling when it actually disappeared, and how.
