 i badly need dragon age inquisition fanfic with happy ending for my Saire Lavellan and Solas, i cant wait 4 years for the next game to see if she finally finds a ways to ' change the dread wolf heart '

Here's the deal on the whole thing.

I trust the team. I trust them because they have never let me down, storywise. I always feel something.

And that's the point, right? A story? A story with characters that are flawed, lovable, repulsive, redeemable, beautiful...with story themes that are not only epic but resonate with real life, that touch us in some way, small or large. This is what Dragon Age has been for me. The ultimate escapism, that book I just can't put down, that I crave to know every little detail, with characters in this epic, strange world, that move me, to tears, to anger, to joy. I think it's like that for a lot of us here, isn't it? Isn't that why we're all here, raging, loving, confused, angry, hurt, betrayed, ...this is what their intent was. To make you feel something, one way or another. This isn't railroading you or your character, it's a glorious, beautiful, and heartbreaking story.

And I trust them to continue to tell it. You can tell that Patrick is really, really passionate about it. And Patrick and his team will start all over and I trust them to carry me through the cycle again, with beautiful, breathtaking environments, nuanced combat, and characters I will no sooner forget than I'd forget my own mother.

This is a world that we have all loved enough to come here, every day. I trust them, I trust the story they want to tell, and I trust that they will make me laugh, cry, feel despair, joy, anger, love and...heroism, once again. I have never felt such a connection to a story or world as I do Dragon Age. I can't wait to see where they take me, and the characters I have grown to love, next.

I don't know...I'd say no, but he's got an awful lot of power at the moment if he can just freeze people into stone just by looking at them. Or not looking at them. I'd say he's got awhile left. Look at Flemythal- maybe he'll keep doing it that way.

This is related to something that's not clear to me: What exactly is the difference between ancient elves who lost their immortality when the Veil was created and others such as Abelas who can keep living for millenia? Is it possible to prevent aging only if you enter uthenera or is there some magical knowledge or ability that separated Abelas&Co from those who eventually became the elves of today? 

 

There's got to be more to the story than just, "I created the Veil and all went to hell." and I'm very curious about the events immediately after its creation and before the end of Elvhenan.

Yep, it went pretty much exactly the way I thought it would. I took so many screencaps of all the sadface Solas and Lavellan in the final scenes, it's not even funny. I'm not even sure I can look at them. Definitely need to run through it with a Spirit!Cole and a Lavellan who drank from the well.

Thus far very impressed with Solas as the new big bad of Thedas. All credit due to Patrick Weekes for writing such an awesome character. Hopefully when we get to be in Tevinter we'll have an equally amazing story to elaborate on an equally amazing nemesis. In the meantime don't be afraid of the big bad wolf.

Zethrian and Avernus did fine in DAO and they're not even Ancient elves. It probably requires blood magic now

I haven't ventured out of this forum. I don't think I can do it. I mean, I understand a certain point of view and that certain people will feel vindicated and then have to make countless posts and threads yelling to everyone about how they were right.

 

But a big part of me just wants to stay on here and not have to face and debate against all that negative energy. Here is safe. It's like a hug from Cole, full of compassion and understanding.

I WILL have a quizzy who wants to kill him.  Who was friends with Solas, and feels utterly betrayed by all his deception.  Who thinks his goals make him irredeemably bad, and will stop at nothing to see him pay for this.  As a player, I can totally see both angles on Solas at the end, and I really wanna play both.  Like with Anders, I personally feel that villifying or excusing the character washes out some of the complexity that makes him interesting.

My Trev is friends with Solas. She respected him and will do whatever she can to save him, but she WILL kill him if she has to. She has a life, a husband now, and there's no way she's going to let everything she...they..worked for, come to an end all because some seriously deluded guy wants to bring about the Elvhen empire once again. No way. She'll try to change his mind, show him that people are worth saving, all of them, even the humans, qunari..that people are worthwhile, but if he persists, she will end him. She's not going to get her happy ending just to die.

 

FWIW- we should be as courteous as possible and spoiler tag everything still. Including you, newcomers. We try to practice civility and respect in this part of the forums.

Thoughts on DA4 and beyond:

I wonder if it's possible that the next game will be a new protagonist, possibly an agent of the inquisitor (or former inquisitor) searching for information on what Solas is doing (or a way to stop him) and dealing with the war with the Qunari in Tevinter.  Then the game after that we switch back to the Inquisitor to deal with Solas one way or another.

 

Although to me it appears to be seriously shaping up that the end of the series will change the world permanently and forever.  Either by somehow making the Veil permanent, helping Solas remove the Veil in such a way that it doesn't completely screw the world, or maybe for once they'll let us go "BURN IT ALL" and just decide to help Solas.

 

It's also possible that the Evanuris are getting free themselves.  I still believe that they're the ones who whispered to Cory and Co. and convinced them to try to go into the Black City physically in hopes that they would be released.  This didn't work and instead released the Blight into the world.  I suppose it's entirely possible they start breaking free and Solas has to put his plans on hold to help deal with them and after that you find a way to stop Solas from doing what he plans now.  Because even though his *current* plan is to remove the Veil, plans change and we don't know where the story is going as yet.

Your Trev is nicer than my Adaar  Adaar's a big cuddly puppy 90% of the time, but he does have a vengeful streak something fierce, and nothing gets it going quite like deception.  He left Thom Rainier to the Orlesian justice, and slept like a baby.  He's going to have no compunctions hunting down Solas.

As will I. I also figured that Bull would be more likely to use or betray you if you sided with the Qun, but I have absolutely no wish to crow about it with glee. My human Quizzy will be majorly pissed with him, especially as she can count off each of his great ideas that have turned into utter, world changing disasters. And all my Quizzies, if it comes down to a Solas or the World choice, will choose the world every time. I just don't want to have to argue the nuance behind his actions and motivations with people who are all "Solas was always evil, I hate elves, they all deserved to be wiped out" mentality. It's too exhausting. People in this thread tend to debate rather than argue.

My Thoughts on the DLC - Now that I've had coffee

I loved it.  I thought it was the DLC we all deserved all along.  The music was great. The story was great.  YAY.

 

Solas is a fantastic character. I am so happy Bioware did not pull any punches. He is gross. He makes me uncomfortable. And he is clearly delusional.  And he's even worse than I had hoped.  And I hitched my Lavallan's cart to the crazy train because the feels. Nothing he says justifies even a fraction of what he did or what he intends to do but despite all of that he remains incredibly depressing.  The context of why he thinks that way - and I think he is genuine in what he says- makes sense in the grand scheme of things.  Am I sort of mad that they essentially forced canon that if you go back with him - you were hung up? You betcha.  But that's the beauty of this. There is no in-between with him. It's everything turned up to 11. Your feelings. His feelings. His reactions to everything.  It's going to be a mess. And I'm excited.   

 

So what I hope for DA4: Titan Valta - because hive minds are hilarious, Maevaris, Furiosa Rune Hand, CHAOS, and bloody mess of a relationship.  You want a soft romance with a happy ending - date Cullen.  You want FEELS - date the egg.

Agreed - It's not a big deal for a week(I know it's a bit hard on mobile folks) but this was a spoiler heavy dlc. It's sort of crucial.  I want people who want to be surprised to be surprised.  It's worth it.
