Here's the deal on the whole thing.

I trust the team. I trust them because they have never let me down, storywise. I always feel something.

And that's the point, right? A story? A story with characters that are flawed, lovable, repulsive, redeemable, beautiful...with story themes that are not only epic but resonate with real life, that touch us in some way, small or large. This is what Dragon Age has been for me. The ultimate escapism, that book I just can't put down, that I crave to know every little detail, with characters in this epic, strange world, that move me, to tears, to anger, to joy. I think it's like that for a lot of us here, isn't it? Isn't that why we're all here, raging, loving, confused, angry, hurt, betrayed, ...this is what their intent was. To make you feel something, one way or another. This isn't railroading you or your character, it's a glorious, beautiful, and heartbreaking story.

And I trust them to continue to tell it. You can tell that Patrick is really, really passionate about it. And Patrick and his team will start all over and I trust them to carry me through the cycle again, with beautiful, breathtaking environments, nuanced combat, and characters I will no sooner forget than I'd forget my own mother.

This is a world that we have all loved enough to come here, every day. I trust them, I trust the story they want to tell, and I trust that they will make me laugh, cry, feel despair, joy, anger, love and...heroism, once again. I have never felt such a connection to a story or world as I do Dragon Age. I can't wait to see where they take me, and the characters I have grown to love, next.

Maybe he was, once, but I think he's much too bitter now. (I have to give David credit though, because honestly, Dorian and Cassandra are my baes <3)And Patrick and his team will start all over and I trust them to carry me through the cycle again, with beautiful, breathtaking environments, nuanced combat, and characters I will no sooner forget than I'd forget my own mother.

I can not agree more, for all they pains the 3 games cause me they do make me feel, like no other games before.

In excessively melodramatic gif form, here's how I imagine life as Solasmancer after playing Trespasser:

Spoiler

Yep, it went pretty much exactly the way I thought it would. I took so many screencaps of all the sadface Solas and Lavellan in the final scenes, it's not even funny. I'm not even sure I can look at them. Definitely need to run through it with a Spirit!Cole and a Lavellan who drank from the well.

Thus far very impressed with Solas as the new big bad of Thedas. All credit due to Patrick Weekes for writing such an awesome character. Hopefully when we get to be in Tevinter we'll have an equally amazing story to elaborate on an equally amazing nemesis. In the meantime don't be afraid of the big bad wolf.

I haven't ventured out of this forum. I don't think I can do it. I mean, I understand a certain point of view and that certain people will feel vindicated and then have to make countless posts and threads yelling to everyone about how they were right.

But a big part of me just wants to stay on here and not have to face and debate against all that negative energy. Here is safe. It's like a hug from Cole, full of compassion and understanding.

ok thats random but i just read it and it made my day Solas response is just love, and it totally was the first time last 2 days i was able to think about him without crying

(If the Inquisitor is in a romance with Iron Bull.)

  • Cole: She/He almost says the word sometimes. Katoh. She/He tastes it in her/his mouth, sweet release a breath away, tongue tying it tenderly like you tie her/him. But she/he doesn't. For you, and for her/him because it makes it mean more. A fuller feeling, a brighter burst.
  • Iron Bull: Yeah. (Coughs.) How's she/he feel about you saying this in front of everybody?

Inquisitor input

Answer 1

  • Inquisitor: Bull and I are consenting adults, and there's nothing wrong with what we choose to do in bed.
  • Cole: Not just in bed. Sometimes it's up against the wall. Once on the war table.
  • Sera (if in party): (laughs.) Hope you took him/her right up the Dales.
  • Dorian (if in party): (laughs.) Ahem
  • Blackwall (if in party): I look forward to informing Cullen.

Answer 2

  • Inquisitor: If a rift opened up right now and swallowed me I'd be fine with that.
  • Varric (if in party): Listen, do whatever works for you. You don't have to act restrained in front of us.
  • Solas (if in party): Provided it tied you down first one assumed.

Answer 3

  • Inquisitor: Moving on.
  • Cassandra (if in party): I could not agree more.
  • Vivienne (if in party): Please do.
  • Cole: Oh, sorry.

I think some people must still be playing and as a courtesy to them we can try for a while more? Maybe just switch to a single simple spoiler tag to hide the spoiler? Just my suggestion.

Edit: Top Solas. Happy Solas! From Solas-an.

I would personally think at least a week of spoiler tags. There are people who can only get the time to play on weekends, and I believe EU is getting some of the DLC later.

Agreed - It's not a big deal for a week(I know it's a bit hard on mobile folks) but this was a spoiler heavy dlc. It's sort of crucial.  I want people who want to be surprised to be surprised.  It's worth it.
