Why help close the Breach and send Inky running around activating veil strengthening artefacts?

 

I think there must be something different in the way Cory caused the Breach and the way Solas will attempt to remove the Veil. Two things that the Breach caused did not sit well with Solas. One was that it was harming spirits, and the other was that it was causing suffering for people. His plan may be different in that he's trying to minimize the harm caused on creatures of the Fade, and that modern people will not see it coming. (That's how he likes to kill them in battle too, isn't it? Most of his targets never even notice him.) Basically he wants to give people a moment of peace and comfort, followed by a death they won't see coming. You know, like slaughtering farm animals. *shudders*

 

He also mentioned that his plan was to go physically into the Fade first, and then remove the Veil. So there must be something he has to do in there that did not factor in the creation of the Breach.

I think the fact that the Breach turned spirits into demons is the issue. There are lots of codex/banter hints that elves and spirits might be... related? interchangeable? I think every spirit that is corrupted by the Breach (or silly mages!) is another Elvhen Solas can't save.

You can't romance Cullen if you tell him to keep taking lyrium. You can tell him to take it for now, but will look for a way for him to stop once Cory is defeated. Don't know how that option plays out in the DLC.

The folks over in the Cullen thread are saying that if you romance him and have him take lyrium until Cory is defeated, the game treats it as if he had stayed off the stuff all along. Which is a bit disappointing.

I remember a thread about whether you saved the Chargers not long after the game came out. A lot of people scoffing at the no brainer it was to let them die.

I sent this video to my friend to sum up how my Trespasser time is going. Oh Dorian. How could you do that to my boy. His poor sad face. I never thought he'd be more emo than my Solasmancer. I mean, the chances of anyone having a worse time than her are pretty damn low.

Just finished Trespasser.

First of all, I'm glad to see that Illyria picked up the tiny optimism flag from the burnt pile of TO banners. Hope lives!

I stumbled upon unspoilered reaction posts before I went to work today and the prospect of having Solas' character butchered seemed totally horrendous. Also, it was supposed to be the end of the inquisition/inquisitor so I was sad and disappointed the whole day.

But then I actually finished the game and I really liked it. One of the things that raised my spirits was a shred of hope that maybe... maybe this is not the end for them. We will rebuild team optimism.

Clinging to even the tiniest shreds of hope will be my undoing.

I thought it was a no brainer to let them live b/c if you have Iron Bull stay with the Qun he would never truly be loyal to the Inquisition or the Inquisitor, even a romanced one.  It's the nature of the Qun.
