I opted to continue the Inquisition with Divine Victoria overseeing.

I disbanded. My Lavellan was never much into being the big leader of a huge organisation anyway.

And she wants to reach Solas only with people she trusts. No spies, no elven servants, nothing like that. Just her and her gang thank you very much.

 

I chose the angry option and it was glorious.

I didn't know, I was really late at chat yesterday and only for a few min. And if you told me then, I don't think I was capable of any straight thought yesterday.

But I disbanded too. There were to many spys in the Inquisition... Feels safer this way.

Because our Lavellan was mostly my SO's character, (though I'm rather attached to this particular pointy-earred goddess of murder and cleaving because she was our first dragon-hunter) she went with joining Divine Victoria the Redheaded.
Most of my Inquisitors would likely disband. Mr. Nice Templar would probably happily become the Honor Guard to Divine Victoria the Asskicker and keep their little romance going.
My hypothetical canon playthroughs will likely have them disbanding the Inquisition to follow the first Inquisition's example, avoid the corruption Solas talks about, and make sure that it's just them and their main crew heading after Solas.

I'm just sick of Orlesian nobles, what Lavellan is going to do next is none of their business, it's personal. We get Leliana either way. My Lavellan doesn't want to be beholden to anyone but herself, freedom.

That's the thing that bugs me. If you say played an Inky who is pro mage and put Leliana on the throne, doesn't this mean staying with Leliana can allow us to ensure her safety. She is the one who is the target of most assassinations.

About the Inquisitions fate. Disband or did you work with your divine?

I disbanded "Our work is done." Weaker against Solas but more secure (less corrupted).

The reason I chose this is because when you ask Solas "What's wrong with the Inquisition?" he replies with "You created a powerful organization, and now it suffers the inevitable fate of such: betrayal and corruption".

 

And then there is the party banter with Sera (main game):

 

Solas: I heard about your organization, Sera. I am impressed.

Sera: Is this a trick?

Solas: Hardly. But it is an opportunity. You have already divided your group's membership. That is wise. No one cell can betray all your secrets. The next step is to establish a rhythm. When your enemies pursue, you vanish. When they become complacent, you harass them. When they are weak, you strike in earnest.

 

I think that he might be giving us hints and advice as to what we should do, so I will heed it.

I have been listening to some of the music. I also watched someone not a Solasmancer streaming the DLC for a bit. It's so much calmer to just watch.

In non sad feels news, I should totally write some Lavellan-Dorian BFF fics to cheer myself up. My goodness that was sweet and adorable. Also the rumblings in politics and the mysterious death of his father seems like some good setup for the Tevinter stuff we'll be seeing.

Is it just me or do Ancient Elves have incredible thighs ?

I just finished Trespasser. I don't know how people who have finished the game have even been able to gather their thoughts to the point where they can form any sort of cogent response with real thoughts in it. Like I have just been running through like 150 possible outcomes and reasons for everything Solas did and said and don't even understand what I am feeling except for general feelings. Like, uhh, there are feelings. There you have it. That is all I know.

 

I will say that I think that Bioware allowed Team Optimism to keep a tiny tiny flag of hope in that I don't think they would give us the option to even try to "save our friend from himself" if there were not at least a "somehow meaningfully less shitty than it could be" end for Solas and Lavellan in the next game(s). Good effing lord, when Bioware does "morally grey" they REALLY give you the full range of tones. If someone like Loghain can be spared and redeemed, and someone like Blackwall can turn his life around, when it comes down to it, DA:I is often about recognizing moral nuance and celebrating personal change and growth.

 

It's going to take me a good few days of processing and writing out notes and mulling things over to even get to the point of, like, real theories or anything. Or even knowing what to say.

Also can we all thank Corypheus for being there to unwittingly postpone Solas' rrrreally well thought-out plan to absolve himself of his guilt by DESTROYING THE WORLD? Like, is Solas so smooth that he can convince me he's still really a just a wonderful but totally damaged guy when he suggests letting everyone in Thedas just die so he can restore one race to its former glory? SOLAS WHAT. Tell me this isn't the WHOLE TRUTH yet! Maybe he's... double bluffing for some reason? GAH!

This is why I'm glad I took my Lavellan down the 'everyone deserves a second chance (except you, Erimond)' route.  It's made for some fantastic foreshadowing the Solas thing.
