Can I just say that if Solas doesn't have some giant, multiple-eyed black wolf form that he reveals later, I'll be SO FRIGGIN DISAPPOINTED. I want it SO bad even if it comes around because we have to boss fight him later!

 

Also, unrelated, his scene with low approval Inquisitor is pretty much my favorite scene in any video game ever. I've been cracking up about it for at least an hour now. Stone cold, man. Stone cold.

Seriously, two of the romance options can have weddings in the DLC (Sera and Cullen - I'm planning my adorable Sera-Trevelyan wedding already ) and all of the other romances can be resolved in one way or another. A new game will surely feature new companions and new romance options.

I thought it was interesting that the stinger--We'll save my Boyfriend, then hes taking me dancing--scene takes place in Haven's dungeon.  It goes back to the first romance scene where Solas says that Haven will always be importan to Lavellan.  And now it's doubly so.  It's a shadow organization chasing a shadow organization...

I didn't mind Hawke's cameo that much since it was short, but it was definitely somewhat jarring, and I certainly wouldn't want them to follow that formula for Lavellan.  Especially since my Hawke was a blood mage and she had all this dialogue being like, "BLOOD MAGIC BAD."  I had to do some mental gymnastics with that one

Yes. If we are to have a new PC, then I hope this is what they let us do.

 

Some of the stuff, even from the Warden's letters didn't fit very well with some of my Wardens. So if they bring back Lavellan as chessmaster instead of PC then I hope they let me control what she says and does.

 

Also, I will have to come up with a good reason as to why the new PC well want to do things my Lavellan's way instead of their own.

 

Maybe it'll be like Awakening and we'll have a choice between a new PC or the Inquisitor? IDK. It could also be that we chose our specializations in the keep because they intend for us to re-use the Inquisitor? I guess time will tell.

I'm not 100% sure how Dorian's romance ends, which is why I asked. I haven't finished my Dorian romance through enough to the point of going to Trespasser yet.

 

I'm sure we'll see Dorian next game though. I was actually wondering if the Solas romance and the Dorian romance where both left hanging because we can expect them in the next game? Which is why I brought it up.

Aloha Wolf Pack!  Haven't been back to crawl into the Blanket Fort for a while and I missed you guys!  I just had to come check in after Trespasser though; oh my gosh!!!  It was as bittersweet and tragic as I hoped!

 Pissed my Lavellan off a little when she asked "But why does this world have to die for the elves to come back?" And he was basically like "Good question, but I'm not telling, nyah nyah!" Srsly dude? Your still keeping secrets?!!? At this point, why bother? I know in reality its because Bioware wants to keep that thread open for in depth exploration in DA4, and I'm thinking it was something to do with the Blight, but it still felt a little cheap for him to pull the "You must have questions." when he had no intention of answering the most important one. Ah, well.

Did anybody choose the "end the romance" option?  Additionally, did anyone choose the "I'll stop you at any cost" thing?  I couldn't bring myself to end it, and as much as I love the heartache and feels, I chose the "I'll find some way to save you from yourself" bit.  Thought the resulting slide from that was so perfect.  The one about how the Inquisitor devotes herself to finding a way to change his mind and then feels him in dreams but can never reach him before he fades away.  So lovely and poignant.

I think we may yet see double protagonist - or at least portions of the game where we'd be back to controlling Inquisitor. The DA devs mentioned in one of interviews that they were intrigued by three protagonists of GTA5 and the way of telling the story through multiple eyes. Then there's the success of Witcher 3, which had sections during which we controlled Ciri.

 

In any case - the Inquisitor will be back in some capacity, I'm pretty sure of that. They've made it rather clear that their story is not over.... And it would be interesting to see if they'd continue with varied plotlines each world-state could create - would their relationships survive? Will some have kids or other titles? What would happen if they took the offer of Sera or not?

 

It would probably take a lot of work from the devs, but considering that they themselves said that DAI was rather thoroughly thought out and epilogues from both base game and Trespasser were written with more consideration towards further plot than, say, DAO - AND given the fact that they're past the hassle of designing a massive RPG on Frostbite, plus they cut the costs of developing ports on old-gen - I'd say that creating a story with double protagonists MAY yet be the thing they might try.

 

 

Anyway - I took time to try and guess who else might be back to DA4, be it as companion, or fairly important NPC - Dorian appears to be a good candidate, with the Tevinter theme and now being the leader of organized political resistance, though I have my doubts that he'd be a companion, considering that most companions would likely have to be romanceable - and he can either end up with Inquisitor OR Iron Bull.

 

Iron Bull himself, Blackwall, Vivienne - they're not going back. Too many drastically different variables. Same with Cullen. Josie is likely to appear as an NPC - either in Antiva, or doing some travelling she always wanted. Same with Varric - might be an influential contact. Sera, I don't know - too many variables as well, though I do like that she seemed to mature and took things more seriously (and then there's the epilogue thing in which it's implied that she does work with Quizzy, likely on unraveling Solas' plans, aside from Red Jenny'ing - which I had mixed feelings at first, but now I think may fit perfectly for my Lavellan).

 

Cass and Leliana may be mentioned, though I'm not sure about variables - yet they appear to be the core of 'new' Inquisition with their new goal. Who is also with the room with them though? Harding. I think people may yet get their first dwarven romance

Well, I suppose all the elves who are actually working for him and maybe are even aware what he's planning may also feel hurt if they feel like he sacrificed everything - including them - for a woman he loved. He obviously loves Lavellan deeply, but he won't sacrifice the elvhen people just for his or her personal happiness. It would be way too selfish.
 
Also - would your Lavellan agree to this? If, say, Solas managed to just save her, or sacrificed many elves just to be with her? I don't think mine would ever be comfortable with this.

Well, my Lavellan would certainly be more comfortable with undoing Fen'Harel's agents work than letting all modern Thedas be sacrificed, including her family and friends.

And I never said I want Solas to give up everything he planned for tru wuv. I never liked that kind of stories. But the game itself gives you the possibility of trying to change his mind, to take advantage that you were made real and show him that you are not the only one worthy of being seen as more than a half-being just because he fell in love with you.

I was just merely pointing out how hard it must be emotionally for a romanced Lavellan. If my boyfriend just told me that he wants to kill all people on earth including myself, it wouldn't hurt less just because he was planning it for a long time and has involved a lot of people in it.

Most companions would likely be romanceable. Varric (twice) and Vivienne are not. Leliana was once romanceable. She's clearly not anymore. etc. Dorian as companion could work.

 

Leliana is Divine for me. Varric is done as companion, but Viscount puts him up there as NPC or letter material.

 

Harding I think between fan response and her appearances, she's likely.

I really hope so.  TBH, my first thought at the end of Trespasser was that Quizzy is destined to be the "chess master" that others have referred to, and that the new protag will take the main spotlight. I was good with that idea but, I think it would be really fun and interesting to have a kind of a split game version, where we control our Inquisitors for significant portions of the game.  Maybe it will be a geographical split and the Inquisitor will deal with the Southern half of Thedas while heading up the Solas Resistance/Rehabilitation Campaign, and the new chick will handle the stuff up north in Tevinter, specifically with the Qunari threat.  That would be fun and fresh enough to keep a really long play through interesting for players who aren't crazy 100%ers like most of us here in the forum.  I think it would also be AMAZING if we could make our protags disagree on some of the core fundamentals; like Quizzy wants to save/redeem this tragic, tortured and well-intentioned man (coincidentally the man she loves, in my Quizzy's case), and the new chick just wants to kill his crazy ass and eliminate the threat.  It would be neat to kinda play both sides of the coin in the same playthrough.

I finally catch up after waking up . So this may be a long post but i have to say few things

First it really seems that the next game theme will be - Save Solas from himself, you know what will be funny? If no matter what you do in the end he give up his plan and wale away , all the ppl that want to kill him will be like WTF, and ill by laughing till the end of my life .

 

2nd. well i could sleep last night so i had time thinking:

After the break up he says - If we bot still live, it will be made clear. Now he DONT say he will tell her , he said it will became clear which mean she will live to see it.

Then when you ask about the other gods getting loose wild he said - I HAD plans. Past tense. He dont have this plans anymore cuz he dont have the orb.

So what im thinking is that he will not destroy the world removing the veil, but he think the the other Gods most likely will kill everyone that is not elven, or even elven that dont agree with them, and i think hes expection to die.

He said your people must die . But whos the Inquisitor people, he says this to every inquisitor not only Lavellan so its more like in general, and not the elves .

 

3rd Im pretty sure Mythal did know his plan when she allowed him to take her power and shes ok with that, cuz after all she still getting her revenge if he manage to kill the gods.

 

4rth I got this idea for short fanfic but i cant decide if i should write it cuz i cried only thinking of it, and im not sure anyone here need more sad endings right now.

From my Lavellan's perspective...he looks like the loneliest person in Thedas.  Wisdom is dead.  Mythal is gone.  The Evanuris probably want vengeance on him. The rest of the Inquisition distrusts him. The Dalish invoke his name as a curse.  She is NOT going to give up on him, not when he most desperately needs her to have faith in him.
