I think we could play two characters, actually, or get to choose between Lavellan and a new PC. First, can you imagine how bad ass it would be for Bioware press wise to have a disabled main character with a Dagna-made prosthetic and is still awesome? The blogs would eat that **** up.

Second, they have talked about having multiple protag before. Someone else will have to link, but yeah. They have talked about it and think it's an interesting concept. The next game may be perfect to experiment with that, letting you actually control your inky during certain scenes.

And I don't care what they said THEN. I care about what's right for the story and I think they do too. I think if they thought bringing your PC back as main character in the next game was important to the story, they would do it, damn whatever they told us three years ago.

I've even seen some theorize that you could only play your inky if you made..certain choices. Otherwise they would be locked out and you'd be forced to play new characters. Not sure how that would go over

Anyway I'm not worried about Lavellan getting the Hawke treatment.I'm more worried they won't be able to make her hair right.

My BFF played the DLC with her Cullenmancing Trev who was friends with Solas, but in a more rivalry way (low approval at the beginning/middle of the game, high approval by the end).  And while my bestie liked Solas as a character, she was never gaga over him the way I was.  

 

Her Trev married Cullen in the DLC, and then when she got to Solas, she was like, "Young lady you are MARRIED.  You are NOT allowed to have sex with the Dread Wolf!"    Totally gets it now.

I'm still kind of reeled up about how easy it is for him to sacrifice people he cares about.. He just said he will kill this world, that includes Quizzy, I sort of wanted the option to react to that specifically... At least he called her vhenan, if he would've called her Inquisitor (as in not acknowledging any feelings) I would've been even sadder, if it's even possible.

 

Also, I assumed Solas could've done something about the mark, I suppose I was wrong, perhaps that magic is still stronger than him.

That means a lot, because damn that guy is powerful, when those Qunari turned to statues I was squealing so hard I'm afraid I woke the neighbors, there is something exciting in him being stronger than Inqi, because I got so so used to the protagonist being the strongest person at the vicinity >_>

 

I was certain Quizzy is abut to die, I was so surprised seeing her striding back with an arm less

I'm guessing other romances ended with marriage and stuff?

I am.. Bummed out. I'm not sure what to do now...

 

Seems like Quizzy will lead the efforts to change Solas' mind using someone from the Tevinter Imperium, so yay, Tevinter.

Based on Jaws of Hakkon, it seems like it was due to the mark.  But then again, based on what the Avvar and Solas say about spirits, anyone who can dream can befriend spirits and learn from them.  It might just be easier with the mark to help you.  Though...are dwarven quizzies locked out of dreaming again?  That must be weird.

 

(seriously considering having Lavellan spend more time with the Avvar after disbanding.  They are the BEST.)

I miss this thread so much and I can't wait to go home and play Trespasser and catch up on the 95+ (holy shit, you guys talk a lot and I love it.) pages of fan-tears, (I'm assuming) and roll around in it. I'm afraid to even browse yet because I've managed to avoid spoilers. I only know that things are going to be emotional..  This week, it took all my willpower to not look at spoilers.

No, no! Not your fault at all. I'm the one braving the forums and opening spoiler tags.

 

I know. My first play through was more like your friends', only I hit it off with Solas immediately friendship wise. I am, in general, absolutely a human player. Cullen was my primary play through romance, but then a bunch of my saves became corrupted and I lost that one. It's fine, because I became so attached to my Lavellan and her Solasmance that I would have probably done chosen her for Trespasser anyway. But even as I rush to redo my Cullenmancing Trevelyan, I absolutely cannot decide which world state I now consider my personal 'canon.' I adore Cullen, but Solas had me at the first conversation in Haven.

 

Amen, I love my Dorianmance too. I did love how good the dialogue played out for a friendship with Dorian in this DLC, though. It's almost like the game realized how much important his character particularly is to me. The communication crystal? So cool.

He couldn't have removed it.  They still needed it to stop Cory.  What he might have done is told her the truth, then removed the Anchor after Cory's demise.  Though I still wonder if he would've been powerful enough to do it without Mythal's power.

 

Removing her arm is a side-effect that comes from Solas taking the Anchor.  Just plain chopping off her arm wouldn't have worked, at least according to the Justinia-spirit.

It was a response to a twitter question. I think the question was something about Solas appearing so reserved and calm about the romance, but does he actually break down and cry when she is not around.......to which Weekes replied "I think so, absolutely."

 

Talk about a punch in the feelzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I really your guys' optimism, it does make me feel loads better! Thank you! I share your hopes. And I really want to believe we get to continue the Inquisitor's story.... They were a great protagonist. And yes, they have the best sway over Solas! -waves her freshly washed team optimism flag-

Jumping on the optimism bandwagon!   As people have noted before, the writers have been sneaking in hints about the game world as a "fade" of our own- and it helps to remember his place in it.   I think what the player expects from his character is going to have a significant effect on his actual nature in the end.

Yeah, if you look at the arm carefully afterwards as he walks away, we can see it "dripping" like the Fade Rifts do when we close them.

 

I think that was meant to show that your severed arm was disintergrating as it was consumed by the Fade, much like we did to Corypheus.

... The whole "they are not gone so long as you remember them" also makes me quite convinced that Lavellan remembering him as he was may be quite important later.

I've never picked that selection during that banter. Interesting. His choice of words could be related to some of the things he told us in the end bits.

That everyone seemed like Tranquil, for lack of a better term. Imagine what his world must have been like, if what we percieve as mostly normal behavior throughout these games are actually muted, dull, and bleak to him. I'm terrible curious to see the day that the magic comes back. And everyone is like they were.

By the way, I made a thing, guys. Kinda like the thing I made ages ago if anyone remembers it. Like most of ya'll I've become overly attached to my Lavellan. So I decided to make a tribute video for her. It ended up being more about her Solas feels, but these things happen.

It's not very flashy or fancy. I only have windows movie maker, and it's awful and I'm not very good at these things. I left it unlisted for now because I feel kinda shy posting it, but I kinda wanna show it off too because I love the song and think it narrates everything Solas and Tiger must be feeling. I also kinda want Mr. Weekes to see it, but what if it's stupid and he hates it? Blat.

Per the ending slides, where Lavellan sees Solas in her dreams, always out of reach: she's riding across the endless distance, trying to get to him while flashes of scattered memory break through like shards of a shattered mirror. There's some funny bits, and cute bits, but it's mostly heartsick bits.

You'll notice a difference in some of the quality. Some of the clips are older and some are new. I got a new GPU since Corysplat's defeat. Also some mods. I like to see the changes.

This video is not only a tribute to my favorite character and my favorite romance, it's also a tribute to my favorite horsie and my favorite map. Tiger is wearing my favorite outfit while riding and has it tinted with my favorite cloth combo (white samite and ring velvet). I'm so gonna miss exploring Thedas with her. The thought of not being able to play her in DA4 makes me very, very sad.

GAH.  Botched opportunity there for the cutscene team.   Would have been kind of amazing to see her reach out for him as he walked away, and had her arm slowly disintegrate into floating particles that trailed after, but never quite reached him...

 

I think I've been watching too much anime.
