Well, as of now I've only played through Trespasser once on my first (canon) quiz Lavellan, who romanced Solas. I honestly don't think I can bring myself to play through it again just yet because I wasn't expecting the emotional gut punch of it really being over. It's just, so final. So many threads are tied up, so many friends move on, and with Solas and the Mark and losing the hand and all those revelations... Trespasser was like a whole new game, and there was no going back. No more Skyhold. No more innocence. Nothing can ever be the same. I can never ever play DAI again without thinking of this final chapter and feeling incredibly sad, knowing what is to come.    ...snip

I'm having this issue.  I started a new play through, intent on romancing Cullen (I've played that story through before and liked it) but I'm having trouble getting past the gut-punch of Solas.  It's another gut-punch in the new play through every time he's on the screen talking and acting like the hobo apostate when I know the truth.  It's to the point (and I'm afraid you are all going to think me seriously weird) but I'm going to have to change my screen name, my avatar, everything.  

 

Fen'Eira was so tied to this story, and it affected me deeply enough, that I can't associate with her anymore if I'm ever going to be able to play this game again..

 

You'll see me next here as Ara'tunan and as a red head elf avatar.  Fen-Eira has to be put away like a favorite but sad dolly into the box of memories in the attic with the other Barbies.

Lavellan:I do but......he's trying to destroy the world. That a bit of a problem in the relationship.

Dorian: Good point. Tell about this Cillian...does he at least know how to dress?

*Lavellan looks out to the training yard where Cillian is doing arcane warriory things and practicing shirtless.*

Lavellan:He trains shirtless! It's distracting!

Dorian:That's already better dressed than Solas ever was.

Lavellan: Dorian!

Dorian: Listen, honey, it sounds like you have found a nice, well dressed elf mage who did nothing but serve the Inquisition loyally for years and is now helping increase your talents. Oh yes, and he doesn't want to end the world as we know. Sounds like a catch to me.

Lavellan: You are the worst BFF ever!

Dorian: I know, but you just can't live without me can you.

Lavellan: Did you wink at the end of that sentence?

Dorian: Of course.

And I only mentioned gay in my post because he's not any temptation like in your Cillian situation. Not trying to promote 'gay best friend' stereotypes or anything.

 

I think my Lavellan's time will be occupied with both the hunt for Solas and figuring out just what to do about that arm and training once a solution is in place.

High-five for Nendoroids love! I missed Card Captor Sakura's Nendoroid last year, I'm still sulking about it, it was so damn pretty! But welp, 'twas cause of the harsh life of a broke-ass student, it happens. Cynthia Nendoroid looks very nice, I love how they produce very high-quality figures, and still manage to make all characters utterly cute, while never betraying their essence.

I have a wish they, one day, will do Sailor Moon characters. That would literally be the death of my bank account. Though I doubt it'll happen, Bandai is far too protective of that license, even though so far they only produced low-tier figures than would never be able to compete with Nendoroids...

 

I missed the Red Nendoroid, so I know your pain. The little guy costs around 150 bucks as of now and I'm just not willing to pay that much for a Nendoroid. 

 

Ohh Sailor Moon, yes! There are cute little blindboxes that look a lot like Nendoroid petits (I got my BFF one this year, she loved it), but those are really tiny. They are of very high quality, though. Then there are the articulated ones from Bandai, but those look pretty bad in comparison to Figma. Aaand of course, there are no Sailor Moon figmas. 

 

I'm really happy that the bioware figures seem to be of good quality as well...at least the Mass Effect ones look great. So I'm really hoping for a Solas figure in the future. Or Cole.

Ok, so I neverrrr talk about personal stuff in forums (cuz I'm self conscience about it) but I can't not comment. I lost my Dad in April and playing DAI and reading a great novel (Daughter of the empire), helped me through the hardest parts. Reflection and quiet is a must for me after a loss but the beautiful distraction offered by DAI and DTE was a wonderful thing. In particular, walking the Emerald Graves felt rich to me because I interpreted it as a place of beauty and memory. 

 

Ok I'm getting too deep. Anyway thanks for your posts. I'm sending a hug in your directions.

So is she actually a spirit or some kind of projection by a Titan? Is there a different image to go along with the text? This is all so...unexpected.

Definitely raises some questions on why Solas or Cole don't comment on it. A spirit sort of possessing her Wynne style to keep her alive makes more sense to me than anything else. So it's still Leliana, it's just she's on mobile ethereal life support.

If you killed Leliana in DAO then her epilouge reveals that she was a Fade spirit for the last 10 years.  Apparently.  Yet to find the slides myself.  And if this is true if - as Leliana says in DA2 - it wasn't her time to die then IS she being lead by some higher power?  Was she like Cole after being killed, a spirit who thought it was Leliana?

I'm glad they addressed this even if it was at the end of the game. I didn't kill off Leli, but I know many that did were PO'd that they brought her back. I've been trying to find one cohesive story that I can write that covers what I feel/felt as I play through the game. In one of them my Inky is a Spirit that has been pulled from the Fade. Either in the form of modern girl/woman goes to Thedas, or Mythal got tired of his s*** and brought someone else in that is powerful enough to clean up!

1. Disband with the angry option.  My Lavellan never wanted to be inquisitor or to be part of the Inquisition.  She did so, because it was the right thing to do.  She also fear what would happened to elves should she pack up and leave--especially in the begining.  She's also pretty much a hardcore Nay Theist, and refuses to give the Chantry more power over others. 

 

She was also rather terrified how corrupted the Inquistion became in just 3 years, realized the Chantry had been around FAR FAR longer.  My Lavellan considers the Chantry an organization that has poisioned the minds of its people for its own personal gain, and would never serve it.

 

She also learned well from Solas.  Once your "tools"  outlive their usefulness or start to become troublesome, you eliminate them.  At least publicly.  So, she disbands the organziation.  Moves into her new estate in Kirkwall, and pretends to be a retired adventurer.  There she begins to her epic chess match with Fen'Harel.

 

2. Took it.  I actually laughed out loud at all the Disapprovals, and imagined all my companions face-palming.  She loves Solas.  Loves him utterly and completly.  He's the other half of her soul.  Her friend's know this... I took the disapprovals to be more worry than a desire to murder-knife Solas. 

 

3.  Nope. She's going to save him. 

 

4.  Yep.  She agrees with his plan.  Knows that elves will never regain--well, even basic human rights--without massive bloodshed.  She just wants to help lead him down a gentler path.  Ultimately, my Lavellan cares about elves.. All elves.  She wants them restored, but she also wants Solas to realize that his people...actually his children are the modern elves.

Well, the only one so far that I'd be vaguely interested in, are Sailor Moon Crystal Prize, and Sailor Moon Q Posket Prize. But even though they're very  pretty, I feel like they tried to copy Nendoroids and do as good as them, but still created a lower-tier product compared to Nendoroids (especially for SMC ones). Q Posket Prize is the most likely to win my heart though, since SM Nendoroids is very unlikely to happen, so I have to settle for something!

 

And yeah, I'd be very much interested in a Solas & Cole figures, to be honest. Now I can't help but imagine a Cole Nendoroid figure surrounded with bunnies, he definitely is cute enough to fit their style! Hnnnng! But they'll most likely just Pop! Vinyl them, and I'll be left here wondering why... (I really don't like Pop! Vinyl, sorry ._.)  Bioware statues, on the other hand, seem to be of extremely high quality, but also very high price, so I don't know ._. But damn, that Morrigan one!

Oh, I'm sorry for misunderstanding. I guess I'm just so used to seeing posts like, "My Lavellan wasn't like other Dalish" or "She didn't really consider herself elfy/Dalish," that I just assumed... but that's what happens when you assume, yeah? You end up like Solas.
 
Okay, well, that's fair. My Lavellan still considers elves "her people," but she considers all elves to be her people regardless of their cultural background. City elves, Dalish elves, Ancient elves... in the end, they're all elves.
 
Although I don't think it's necessarily wrong for her to consider elves "her people," because I think everyone identifies some group as "my people." Even most Inquisition companions have people they consider "theirs." Varric considers surface dwarves and Kirkwallians "his people," Dorian considers Tevinter his home (and obviously its people "his people"), Cassandra and Cullen consider Andrastian humans (and the Seekers and Templars especially) "their people," Sera considers the impoverished and disenfranchised "common folk" of Andrastian society "her people," and the Iron Bull starts off conflicted over whether the Qunari and the Chargers are truly "his people," and his personal quest is about deciding one way or another--the Qunari, or the Chargers?

No, it's totally fine  I just wanted to be clear about what I meant, that's all.
 
And I don't think there's anything wrong with identifying with a particular group of people.  It's a very universal instinct (I'd say human nature, but you know what I mean).  My Lavellan's just...a strange duck.  The whole arc of Inquisition and Trespasser only took 3 years total, but she spent that time risking her life almost every day--for the people of Southern Thedas as a whole.  People she loved, like her friends.  People she wanted to strangle, like the Orlesians. People she never even met, whose lives she changed just by giving them hope.  It really changed how she identifies with people.  If anything, she probably takes it a step further than Sera to being more like spirit!Cole, trying to feel for and see the best in everyone.

On another note - who did you bring with your Inquisitor, thinking they'd be there when you'd confront Solas? And who do you think will comfort your Inquisitor once you get back to the Winter Palace?

Dorian because Best Mage. Iron Bull for the qunari lore. Cass because I''m not going to have her in my canon playthrough (I'll have spirit!Cole instead) and I wanted to see what she'd say.  As for who's going to comfort her...I'm fanfictioning that out.  But it's not who I thought it would be.  It's not Cole and Dorian, who got her through the initial breakup.  It's Varric and Sera.

 

Varric, of all people, probably understands what she's going through best.  He knows what it's like to not give up on someone, even when all indications are that she should.  And Sera...Sera is to my Lavellan what Lavellan is to Solas, just platonic.  She keeps my Lavellan grounded.  She reminds her that it's important to be a normal person, to laugh and play pranks and have fun.  That's what she needs right now.

I figured we'd see him alone, but I brought my usual party, Dorian and Cassandra and added Cole in Solas' old slot. Cole was a must, given how he cares for Solas, and all of them are her close friends.

 

For comfort, well Cole eventually goes back to the Fade if spirit, but he will. Also Dorian. Leliana is Divine but they're still close, and I presume she stays a bit longer to be in her company a while. Before Dorian leaves, and they have the crystal, so they'll be there for one another.

 

I'm still figuring out my post-Trespasser headcanon though.

Yes, I did, and having not played DA2, I didn't not understand it at first, but found it very funny and peculiar. Then at lunch today, I was talking about Sandal's prophecies (cause I knew about them even though I didn't know about his love of saying "Enchantment!", that's what I get for lurking these forums too much) to my boyfriend (who has played all DA games), and he was like "But, isn't that the character that only says "Enchantment!" all the time?". He didn't know about Sandal's prophecies, but he knew about enchantment, I didn't know about enchantment but knew about the prophecies. When he said that, I remembered finding that peculiar codex entry and just started laughing about how awesome the Bioware team can be (very loudly in the restaurant, but that's another problem).

 

Maybe it's time I played the previous game, but damn does it feel difficult to get into them everytime I try (well, for DA1 that is). They aged a lot, not in a good way. Maybe I'll just watch Let's Plays.

Could be the elves settling the Earth and freaking the Titans out.
Could be the Titans creating the proto-dwarves (think Sha-Brytol) to defend themselves from elven lyrium miners. Apparently Mythal beats dwarves, though.
Then something made it forget. The Veil, the Evanuris, the Blight, or just the Shaperate removing all mention of the Titans could count.
