From a personal standpoint, I could see myself doing the same as Solas in that situation. I mean, there is this huge rift in the sky that is releasing all kinds of demons and the idea of that sounds pretty stressful. Time is of the essence and what not. It's better to quickly show them what they're supposed to do than to sit there and quietly explain it step by step. *throws hand up* Ok. Now you know what to do. lol

You're right. He gets what looks like metal boots up to his knees but apparently that wasn't elfy enough so they don't cover his toes and quite possibly the bottoms of his feet but the quality isn't good enough to tell.

I'm actually a little concerned that, if I play as an elf, I won't be able to have them be barefoot.

My Inquisitor will have to keep a bucket of water and towel next to her bed since she'd never let dirty feet soil her pristine sheets. I hope my Inquisitor can go shoeless as well

the need for an elven female inquisitor is so real. 
To be fair, even shoes aren't likely to help much when you're sloshing around through the swamp. You're going to be soaked through. And the zombie guts are going in your face and hair... It's probably easier to keep your feet healthy when they aren't soaking inside filthy footwear.

The Inquisitor's hand clearly starts at his side. Solas isn't refusing to let him back off, he's forcing the Inquisitor's hand towards the rift. In the full version, you can see that the Inquisitor looks hesitant.
I don't think what Solas is doing is wrong. It looks like he's losing patience with an unsure Inquisitor, which doesn't bother me; it looks like Solas knows what needs done and is taking matters into his own hands.
But it would be nice to have the option to say, "hey, watch the manhandling." Simply grabbing someone and forcing them to do something, no matter how important, is probably really uncomfortable for the person being forced.
Edit: I like that he does, from the perspective of a player. But when roleplaying a character that's being forced, the option to say, "hey, what the hell?" would be nice.

How would that work i wonder ? Do bugs get bigger when Solas wants the D ? Are there more of them during arguments with other team members and his counting on our support ? When he wants to be alone they spill a powder that makes Inquisitor sleep like a baby ? And the most important question : From where by the Fade is he getting all those bugs i my freaking castle ?

no obligatory shoeless Solas, pleaseee!!! I have very bad memories of going around on the grass shoeless. I would stay in apprehension for Solas's feet every walking moment!
I really really hope not all the boots are so exposed. Really, who would have the courage to take Solas on that mountain with the snow if he didn't put on appropriate boots? I don't know you, but I would not like to have images of black frozen toes in my head.
I have no likes for Phate Phoenix and Dr. Doctor. 
@manabloom: The idea that he would have no idea how to flirt definitely contributed to the thought. Maybe he just pulls hair instead of putting bugs in it.
