A few posts back I mentioned getting the cinematic tools so I could take not so goofy lookin screenshots of the last encounter. Here they are:

There's also a couple of concerns I got reminded of when sifting through my screenshot folder to find my new treasures. Regarding some of the things we discover throughout the DLC:Spoiler
The thought of hurting Josie breaks my heart.
I know. This was all pure comedy. The next scene would have been Lavellan taking Jose chocolate shopping or something.
I have really been considering making a Quizzy for Jose. She's just so adorable.

We could have teased him with it as punishment.
Solas: Gimmie treat now!
BTW, I ended up tweeting to Patrick Weekes the Avatar quote one of you posted some pages ago, and he just favorited it!
Yes! Thank you for that.
Maybe we should prod it at him every few years or so until DA4 comes out. >:3 Take a heart

This breaks my heart. but it also makes me hopeful. Solas has changed a great deal in the 1+ year he passed with the Inquisition. He's already not the man Felassan knew anymore. It gives me hope that he can continue to change for the better.
Which is why I'm happy to have limited choice in an indefinite series of long, epic fantasy RPGs. The shorter your storyline, the easier it is to keep track of all the numerous plot threads. It must get too complicated at some point. If I wanted to play a game which maximised player choice, I'd probably pick up a three hour visual novel or the like.
Catching up on the mach speed thread, but I wanted to toss in 2 cents on choice in a game:
ME2 was IMO a great self-contained example of the illusion of choice. Because let's face it; the basic plot of ME2 is entirely on rails. You HAVE to recruit the first set of characters. Horizon, the Reaper, Cerberus, and the Collector Base all play out more-or-less the same way. And yet, I never felt frustrated like I did in ME3, because ME2 gave me so many other little ways to react to the world. All the companion quest outcomes. All the differences in dialogue tone. I couldn't stop working for Cerberus, but I could damn well have a very loud opinion on it
Compare this to ME3, where I couldn't express any opinion except "ALLIANCE GOOD CERBERUS BAD."
The illusion of choice IMO is what's important. Allowing the player to attempt things and RP their character, even if those choices won't necessarily work out to anything dramatically different. That's what I loved about Trespasser.
I'm not really good at writing fiction stuff but I now have this scene stuck in my head of Lavellan telling a group of Dalish the tings she's learned about the valasslin and the past. When thay ask how she knows all this stuff she pauses then tells them "I saw it in the fade" . Then starts to giggle and leaves the others wondering why she can't stop laughing.

Yep, good to keep in mind that while the Dalish clans are like little communities/micro cultures of their own, there are ties and people do come and go.
I've been planning to include this stuff. When I'm able to write once more and not mushed by a flood of thoughts and feelings at the attempt.

It's quite a technical term, I know. But you may be right. ![]()
